Family weekend

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time this past weekend at Timberline. Conditions were great and the house was accommodating,clean, comfortable and had plenty of room for 7 people. We appreciated the snow being pushed from the driveway and the walkways being shoveled ( for future reference, clear a better path to hot tub and gas grill). Staff ( thanks Kat) was friendly and answered all questions. We will be back!

Such a great place

Absolutely loved the house. Big but cozy. Outdoor area was lovely. Hot tub under the stars. Sunroom was perfect for a rainy day. Kitchen well stocked. There’s a keurig. I didn’t notice it in the pictures. Wonderful time. Quiet area but close to things to do

Summer in Canaan

The location of this property is incredible! The kids (and adults) loved the fire pit, hot tub, and pool table! It was very dusty, especially the ceiling fans, central air/heat ducts, and under the beds, but the hot tub was very clean. There were issues with the appliances, but nothing that detracted from our stay. The property manager was quick to respond.

The only complaints we had was the refrigerator didn’t make much ice. We bought a bag to use. And the beds were extremely hard. Otherwise nice place to stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay at Bear's Retreat in early March 2021. The hot tub was a definite plus, as well as the numerous gas fireplaces (once you figure out how to turn them on). Super close to the base of Timberline. While the snow was melting while we were there, I imagine this would be a relatively easy location to access, even during times of peak snow.

The one thing I found was the kitchen was not well stocked with pots and pans. I like to cook but was able to make do with what was available plus what I took with me from home. There was plenty of glassware and other dishes.

A little slice of heaven

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home backs up to the reserve so it is very private and the view of the stars from the hot tub is out of this world. The Pool table is a lil rough but still worked well enough. Only real complaint is it could stand a good cleaning..I had to do the windows myself so we could enjoy the view. But I would definitely stay again!! This is our 8th vacation in the area but the 1st with this company, gotta say the staff couldn't have been any nicer, they will be our go to from now on as we definitely never received that kinda service from the previous rental company. Highly recommend!!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have rented houses in this area for over 20 years including this one twice before. We’ve always liked the location, space, and the ability to bring a pet. With that being said, our overall experience last weekend was poor. The house is in need of a serious deep cleaning, multiple maintenance issues, including a hot tub that was cold the entire time. Although the realty company was polite, the $65 refund hardly covers the disappointment. Very sad because it’s a beautiful house overall in a special place for my family, but we will not trust to rent again.

Nice place to get away

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is very cozy and situated near a lake that makes for a nice walk. It's also close to the Canaan Valley ski area. There is lots of space if you have a crowd of people, but it's also fine for just three or four. Two complaints: the cable tv didn't work very well and had limited choices; we should have brought our own movies to watch! Also, there weren't many games; only one deck of cards and one Monopoly game. It would be nice if there were more games so we wouldn't have to bring our own. When you're packing for a week away, you have so much stuff to bring, it's nice not to have to bring bulky games. I don't recommend the Deerfield for dinner; not great food and very expensive.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 3rd time staying at bears retreat. Cleanliness was average. It has a smell to it and alot of dog hair in the carpet but it is pet friendly. Not sure red carpet would be my first choice with pets. You can't adjust the temperature of the house because the thermostat changes to certain settings. 3 tvs but only one works. Coming back next month but this time will be staying with another rental company.

Very nice stay!

We loved your home it was very spacious and particularly clean. We found everything we needed in the kitchen. There was one set of outside lights on either side of the game room windows, they must stay on all the time? Because we could not find a switch for those. Better directions for using the television would be recommended. Fortunately MICHAEL, the property manager, was able to help us figure it out. Also some directions for use of the hot tub would be a good idea, as I didn’t use it because I couldn’t figure out how to turn the temperature up. As an aside our mini dachshund was able to get under the three season room. Of course not under my supervision with a leash on, but when my husband let her off leash… She was under approximately 30 feet. This created a bit of a problem because she was so far and we couldn’t get her out. Again, his fault but it should be noted that the foundation and lattice does not go all the way to the ground in some places. Nonetheless, I would highly recommend this relaxing property for all sizes of parties. We loved that there were two televisions so we didn’t have to watch the same shows… Just like at home, where we watch different programs. When we were looking for the realty/property management office we had a bit of trouble… They did warn us that GPS didn’t work. However, mentioning that it’s a small Plaza would’ve been helpful. Thank you for a very relaxing stay!

Nice House

Great home for our family. Plenty of room. Aside from the ants the house was pretty clean. My adult kids loved the hot tub. Comfortable beds. Nice rec room with a pool table. Would stay again. Would not recommend Momma Mia for any meal. Go to Davis. 9 out of 10
