Brendan was a lovely host who, with a sense of humour, was quick to respond to our every request and checked in on our stay throughout our visit.
The place was as pictured and smack-dab in a great part of town. We walked everywhere! 100% recommend
Very stylish apartment;great location; comfortable bed. Kitchen well equipped. Bathroom very good but no soap dish in the shower.
But we had a very frustrating stay. Promising at first with detailed instructions on getting into the place, with explanation of the fiddly electronic lock. (Though the link in the Vrbo message didn't work, so we had to ask host to email it. When we arrived, we were unable to get in. The lock doesn't work the way the instructions say, and the code was wrong. The person who answered the phone seemed confused.
Then there was no information sheet about how things work. Every place we've rented has had some version of this. But nothing. The host seemed never to have heard of it before. Obviously not from the hospitality business.
We got settled in and went out to dinner. On returning, I wanted to lower the window blind. No luck. Messaged the host, who said: "use the up-and-down buttons on the window blind remote. Just a heads-up, if the remote is switched from channel number one, the blinlinds wonât work, so make sure itâs set to that. If the blinds still arenât working, they may just need to be charged. The charging cable is attached to the window blind itself, and you can find it on the upper left-hand side when facing the window, hanging down behind the draperies." No explanation of what to plug that cord into. Went to sleep. Charge things that need charging before your guest arrives.
These folks are nice, but need Hospitality 101.
