The stay was quit and secluded on the lake. A little windy at times but would die down around 8om, just in time for the evening fire. Home was spaciuos and had plenty of thing to do. The third "bedroom" listed was more of a loft as its used to access another room. Would visit again.
Property was amazing! House was clean and stocked with everything we needed. Plenty of room for 6 of us. Third bedroom is a cute area upstairs between the two bedrooms with a pull out double bed, which was fine. The kids however, slept downstairs on an air mattress, which there was plenty of room for. Nice quiet area close to nature. No camps next door, was very private. We could see and catch plenty of fish right off of the dock. Rocky area around the dock but there was still a spot for the kids to jump in safely and swim. Deep enough that my feet did not hit the bottom. Nice clear lake with no vegetation in the swimming area!! Saw bull frogs, crawfish, loons, ducks, and an eagle right from the camp. Short drive to Branch Lake Forrest, we saw porcupines and deer there at night. Supermarket was 20-30 minutes away. We put in a Mobil order and picked it up on our first morning there. Saw all the sights in Acadia and Bar Harbor.
The house was unusual and that there is no bathroom upstairs where the bedrooms are. The bathroom is downstairs. There is no ladder into the lake. You have to climb up the rocks and that is unsafe.
Our family booked this property fairly last minute for the busy summer months (1.5 month in advance) in order to visit Acadia National Park. The setting was peaceful, with its own private dock which we loved to spend time out on. The lake was clean, and quiet. It was great for stargazing, or listening for loons, which we were lucky enough to hear.
The house description says it has 3 bedrooms, but the layout is such that it is really 2 bedrooms with doors, and the third is really the landing/foyer at the top of the stairs. Not a big deal, but worth noting. Also, the only bathroom is on the first floor, so if traveling with small children or anyone with mobility issues, it may be a consideration. These are not negative things, but something I always find helpful to read in reviews. The house was clean, with beautiful views. The AC was sufficient, and we used fans provided in the bedroom as well on the really hot days to circulate the window unit air from one bedroom to the others.
It was about an hour drive into Bar Harbor, but we enjoyed pulling up to a quiet setting at the end of each day. All in all, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
