A perfectly magical week at Branch Lake! Every single detail was thought of! This charming, spotless camp is now one of our very favorites ever! The lake with its loons, eagles, owls, osprey, bass, and magnificent sunrises and sunsets were pure Maine perfection! Close to Acadia and Bar Harbor! But our favorite parts were lovely, lazy days on kayaks, tubes, SUP, canoeing, and just taking in the magnificent pine scented property, staring off at the gorgeous lake for days. Making meals were a blast since the kitchen was so well stocked, making puzzles, playing games, and just enjoying the comfortable cabin. Grilling under the pines! Truly vacation magic and we cannot wait to return! Get up about 20 minutes before sunrise with your cuppa joe for spectacular sunrises! And go sit out on the floating dock to see the stars and listen to the magical loons and owls! Thank you for an amazing vacation!
We had a wonderful week! The cabin is clean, spacious and nicely decorated, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The lake is gorgeous and we loved spending time swimming, canoeing and just sitting by the water. Angela was very easy to work with and provided us with detailed info about everything we needed to know. It was the best lake trip weâve taken as a family, and we are excited to come back in the future!
The house provided more than enough space for 5 adults. It's a great place to unplug and relax! The lake is spectacular! It's quiet and clear. During our late September stay, the trees were peak autumn colors. Gorgeous! On clear evenings, gazing up at the stars was magical.
It's a wonderful place to have fun with family and friends. -- fishing, kayaking, hiking, eating, laughing, toasting/burning marshmallows for s'mores.
Away from the lake house, there's no shortage of things to do or places to eat in the Ellsworth area.
The house and property was as described absolutely beautiful. The lake was gorgeous. We had a wonderful time staying here. We enjoyed being lakeside starting with a cup of coffee in the morning to kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming the rest of the day. The house was fully stocked with everything you needed from kitchen supplies to linens and games. My family would love to stay here again in the future.
Our family of 5 stayed at Camp Lindsay for seven nights and had a relaxing, comfortable and amazing time. Water activities galore! We kayaked to a large rock that we could jump off, up a creek to a beaver dam, to blueberry island to pick fresh blueberries (which we put into our pancakes the next morning), among many other places. Our boys (5, 8, 10) practically lived on the floating island. I was able to get some solitude and kayak by myself around sunset and had a loon pop up next to me and sing while a bald eagle flew above and perched on a branch about 40 feet away.
Anytime we left the camp, mostly to explore beautiful Acadia national park, I regretted leaving the home.
The home is clearly loved by her owners. Many personal touches and a lot of personality. The home was also well stocked, which is always appreciated.
Angela was responsive and always kind.
We really enjoyed our stay at this camp. Just right-sized for family. The lake is exceptionally clean and welcoming all summer water activities: swimming, kayaking, paddle-boarding - we did that daily and never got bored. Acadia is just under an hour drive away. We'll definitely be back.
Our second summer at this place, and it didnât disappoint. They made a few changes that makes this place even more attractive. We are hoping to be back!
The camp was amazing. It was extremely clean, spacious, lake front and had lots of extras like swimming dock, canoe, kayaks & paddle boards. The kitchen had everything we needed for when we choose to cook there.. and it was was within a 30 minute drive to most attractions we went to. We loved it!
Couldnât have been happier with the location and host. Beautiful very private lake property with everything needed for a wonderful relaxing vacation. We sat by the campfire almost every night and made Sâmores, listened to the loons and elk calling out in the evenings, and took the boat out exploring and fishing. The host was responsive and genuinely cared about our experience. The next trip to Maine will definitely be here!
Our first time renting this home and have no regrets. The house is beautiful and very well stocked. We made lobster rolls that were served in the cute lobster plates. We kayaked and canoed and ended the day by the fire pit. We are looking forward to coming back next year!
We rented this home for our first destination family get together with my now grown up kids and their boyfriends. It was simply lovely. The location could not be more perfect. You are literally right next to the lake. The owner is wonderful to work with. All of the positive reviews speak for how perfect this destination in Maine is.
The water is so clear! We brought goggles for the kids and they enjoyed swimming around and looking at everything around them. We used the kayaks, canoe, and paddleboards daily.
What an amazing lake house! Whether you're looking for a corporate retreat or a family vacation, this beautifully-appointed house is perfect! Clean, spacious, and tranquil -- with an incredible view. Easily sleeps 9 -- and more if you use the couches or air mattresses. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we enjoyed ours!
It was so nice to be able to get away to Camp Lindsay again to close out the summer. There was still plenty of warm weather for enjoying the water and the camp is as amazing as the last trip. Thanks so much to Angela and Michael for another amazing stay.
We had an amazing week at Angela's place in Ellsworth, ME. This house had everything we needed. We were very impressed with their attention to detail. It was more than enough space for our family of 5 and Golden Retriever. The beds are comfortable and so is the giant sectional upstairs! The lake was warm and clean. Our kids loved jumping off the swim platform and we loved taking the kayaks all around the islands. There is so much space at the waterfront. It was easy to read a book in the chaise lounge and watch the kids while they swam. Good fishing for bass/sunfish. The firepit was a family favorite as well. About a 20 min ride into town if you need groceries or take out. Many fantastic options for take out and outdoor dining. Thank you for sharing your home.
Overall probably the nicest place we have stayed in Maine.
Close to Ellsworth, decent road to house.
House is very nice
Outside is excellent....fire pit, sloping land to lake, kayak ramp, grill, quiet location
When I think of a cabin on a Maine lake, this is exactly what comes to mind. Easily accessible from either Rte 1 in Bucksport or Rte 1A in Ellsworth. A beautiful home on a tranquil lake with plenty of privacy, Camp Lindsay provided everything my family could have wanted in a Maine vacation getaway.
Our two boys loved playing on the beach, floating around in the water and swimming to the raft. Our two dogs enjoyed lounging on the docks and watching the occasional boat go by. The waterfront is the perfect combination of sun and shade so that we could enjoy the hot days in the water without feeling like we were roasting. All the bases are covered for fun in the water including kayaks, SUPs, canoe and floats. So much fun.
The house had everything we needed in terms of amenities and so much luxurious space. If you like to cook while on vacation, this is your kitchen, not to mention grilling outside. Angela and Michael were incredibly attentive to our needs and provided timely responses to what must have seemed like a million questions. We can vouch for the fact that the cellular signal is incredibly strong and that the hotspot we brought with us was enough to handle the one online meeting that couldn't be avoided.
We look forward to returning and highly recommend Camp Lindsay to anyone looking for a beautiful, peaceful getaway. Thank you!
This was one of our favorite rental houses we've visited. The lake the house was on is so beautiful, and the hosts had fishing poles, kayaks, paddle boards and a canoe available for us to use. All of the welcoming touches were so appreciated, including wood and kindling in the fire pit set up perfectly for our first bonfire.
My husband, two furry, four-legged kids and I really enjoyed our stay. It's nestled in on a great spot on the lake and has everything you would need for an escape from the real world! It's about an hour-ish drive to Acadia which was nice! Highly recommend and hope we can make it back sometime in the future!

We are an American family who has lived oversees for the last 8 years and recently moved back to the US to Connecticut. My husband grew up in New England and I grew up in California. We have 2 sons and 2 dogs and enjoy spending time traveling the world.
I chose this home as part of my husbands dream to own on this lake. He grew up renting a camp on Branch Lake and has fond memories of fishing with his father and grandpa. I had little experience on this lake but ended up buying this house and remodeling it without my husband ever seeing it! Talk about pressure. The good news is he loves it as much as I do and our 11 year old son thinks it is "the bomb".
The lake is the centerpiece of this home but I must say I have created a cozy and fully functioning home with a "cabin" type charm. One of the benefits is that it is a split level home with 2 masters so very convenient to vacation with friends or family. Downstairs has 1 queen, 1 double and 1 single bed to sleep 5, upstairs has 1 king, 1 double and 1 single to also sleep 5. There is a huge reclining sofa upstairs that could easily accommodate a couple more kids...
