Vous voulez sortir des sentiers battus? Découvrez Los Barriles, à 60 kilomètres au nord de l'aéroport de Los Cabos (SJD). Si la vie nocturne folle est pour vous, ne venez pas ici. Paradise

We had a wonderful time! The condo was fantastic with beautiful views from sunrise to sunset. The beachfront was amazing, so quiet and peaceful . Everyone at the complex was friendly and engaging. It’s definitely one of our best vacation spots and hope to return. Thank you Mary for your hospitality!

WORST PLACE WE HAVE EVER STAYED

This was our fifth visit to the Mar y Sol. We had previously stayed in three other units. They were all nice and we had a fabulous time. When I walked into this unit I was horrified. While the kitchen, washer and dryer and bathroom were fine the furnishings looked like they had been picked up at a dumpster or on the side of the road. I can’t figure out how to post pictures so I will try to describe this place. I was coughing and thought maybe the pillows were dusty so I took the pillowcases off ...they were so stained I wouldn’t have let my dog sleep on them, there was even dried blood on one. SO GROSS. I threw them in the washer and dryer. Under the sink there was a rusted old toaster oven,the couch was so smelly and run down and the only other furniture in the living room were folding chairs. There was one washcloth, no dresser to put away clothes. No lights to read,by no headboard just an old bed with an orange bedspread blue sheets and a maroon bed skirt The pots and pans were few and in pretty bad shape. I had a bad feeling when I did not get any information on how to get into the unit I emailed the owner and she told me the unit would be unlocked ...that was it. There were no instructions on what to do when you leave there was no handyman to call if there was a problem. In each of the other units we have been given a code on how to get into the place, there was a property manager we could call if there was a problem, guest books, margarita glasses there were beautiful colorful amenities to make you feel like you were on vacation. It was so bad I actually cried. I contacted the owner and she seemed very surprised. I don’t know what her standards are but she should not be in this business. We actually ended up taking vacations from the place on several occasions and staying in a hotel because I had such a hard time sleeping there. We actually tried to move but all the other condos were rented. We contacted one of the property managers that we really like but they had nothing. This was actually the worst place I have ever stayed. I am going to be filing A complaint with VRBO.

Worn out condo with little privacy

My boyfriend and I loved Los Barriles and our time there. Mary and her husband seemed like lovely people and we appreciated their quickly responding to us. We did NOT enjoy our stay at the condo though. We stayed at another condo at Mar Y Sol before and our expectations were minimal especially given the price and the last minute booking. This condo is for sale and is in dire need of improvements and some charm. It is uncomfortable and gives an impression of a worn out and an uncared for place. Kitchen cabinets and bedroom closets are cluttered with the cheapest possible utensils, dishes, towels and linens. Our biggest issues were with the couch in the living room that is so worn out and soiled with sunblock, etc. that it frankly belongs in the dumpster. The couch and several hard chairs are the only seating in the living room. Some of the electrical outlets are partially pulled out of the wall and there is no decent mugs or dishes in the kitchen. The closet doors in the bedroom squeak, the screen doors to the patio were off tracks and we could not get them to run smoothly. The pillows in the bedroom were disgusting because of the stains and the smell of sweat. The ant traps didn’t work/were too old and the place filled out with ants within hours of our arrival even before we brought any food into the condo. The location of the unit within the complex is probably the worst also: this condo has almost no privacy: we could not open the curtains to the side windows without neighbors looking directly into the unit. If you are planning to enjoy the sunsets and the sounds of the waves in the evening, be prepared that large groups of people gather and play music every night directly below the unit and look directly into the unit from the patio around the pool.

Great snorkeling beach but Condo is very outdated.

Great location but needs an update. Bedroom has no dresser and is using dinner trays for the nightstands. Fold out chairs for any extra seating in the main area. Fans only have one speed which was high and it was hard to sleep. Great place to snorkel!

Outstanding Location

When you stay at Mar Y Sol you have the Sea of Cortez at your feet.....literally! Can not beat the location of this condo. The views are spectacular, the sunrises are breathtaking and the snorkelling just steps from the condo is great! Have stayed here before and will stay again. Anyone who is immobile may struggle with the steps to get to and from the beach or the pool...but it is on the same level as the parking lot. It is a welcoming group of homeowners in this complex, with a happy hour nightly at 5pm at the pool deck palapa :) The amenities are more than enough for a comfortable stay. The WiFi works, but the only negative is that the stereo and TV in the condo are too old to connect to modern devices (no HDMI). This condo will be on my list of places to come back to.

great condo for two

We had a delightful time at Mar Y Sol. It is a great location with a great view. It would be nice to have a floor lamp (or two) in the living room as it was difficult to read or knit at night with only an overhead light. Thank you for sharing your condo!

Great beach access and snorkeling!!

We enjoyed Dr Mary's place; it had great snorkeling right off the beach in front of the condo. The condo had everything we needed to cook our own meals and beautiful sunrises with Mobula Rays jumping out of the Sea of Cortez within sight. We saw whales, dolphins, and rooster fish from the porch!

The most relaxing, exciting and fun vacation ever!

This is my 3rd time back to Mar Y Sol but my first stay at this unit. It's marvelous. Cozy, super modern, and fantastic views. I watched the sunrise all 9 days, saw whales and dolphins while sitting on the porch. What I liked most about this stay is the proximity to many things. I had my morning fitness walk to the south, great snorkeling right in front, and I usually walked to Los Barriles for breakfast which only took 20 minutes by beach. I liked the action around the pool of the hotel just as you entered into Los Barriles by beach. Hotel Palmas de Cortez. For $10, you could by a day pass and hang around all day. Way fun watching the boats come in and the photos of the monster catches. I ate at their outdoor restaurant last Saturday for the all you can eat Mexican night. Fabulous for only $15. Plus, 2 for 1 margaritas in a pottery mug. Open-Ocean view. Simply amazing. Mary, the owner was everything her former reviews wrote. Very accommodating, answered any questions, and had the unit ready to rock n roll when I arrived. I felt very save at all times. I can't wait to book again next year.

Nice condo, as advertised, great location, great view!

This property is right off the main road leading in to Los Barriles from Cabo. We enjoyed the beach and the view from the balcony, the pool area and cooked on the BBQ two of the three nights of our visit. Close to restaurants and shopping. Very enjoyable quiet stay

Great view and easy accessiblity from parking lot for my husband who is recovering from broken heel

The condo was clean but the oven did not work and the lights under the cupboards did not work. One light was missing the other non functional. We purchased 2 new lights for the work space. A safe would have been appreciated other wise we really enjoyed the convenience of the location.

The Property Itself is Gorgeous

It was on the ocean which was absolutely gorgeous. It was clean and had all of the amenities needed. Our balcony looked over one of the most amazing views I've ever seen. If you're looking for peace And tranquility this is for you. Don't expect a lot of nightlife- if you're looking for that stay close or in Cabo. The Condo itself though was breathtaking.
