We really enjoyed our stay here! Lovely place, great location, well-kept, incredible views. Everything was great, we found all the comforts we needed. Phenomenal.
This was the perfect place for our family of four. It was clean and close to downtown. Being right on the lake was the best part! Besides the beautiful view from the living room, my 2 and 4 year olds could play in it while my husband and I relaxed with a glass of wine.
We would definitely rent this cottage again.
This was our second stay at this adorable cabin, just feet away from the water. We love to kayak, and Kim has 4 kayaks available for guests to use. Crescent Lake is connected to the larger Wentworth Lake by a little river. We enjoyed kayaking to Albee State beach, with a large sandy beach and beautiful views. We also enjoyed biking on the bike trail, immediately behind the cabin, which you can also use to walk or bike the short distance to downtown Wolfboro. Great location!
We had a great week in Wolfeboro, despite some pretty wet and cold weather! The cabin was all that we needed, and our favorite part was having water on one side of us and the bike/walking path on the other. The inside of the cabin offered us just enough space, and the area just outside the cabin had a picnic table and Adirondack chairs to sit in, and we took full advantage of being outside whenever the sun managed to come out. I only took one star off of "location" due to the access to the cabin, as the turn off the main road isn't super obvious, and the drive does go down a pretty steep pitch. I'm not seeing it as a negative, but just something to be aware of for any renters coming to this place for the first time. Take it slow! (: Many thanks to Kim who was always easy to reach when we needed him. We hope to return to this property in the future.
We had such an incredible time at Kimâs cottage on Crescent Lake. The property was clean, inviting and you can not beat the location. We rarely even had to get in the car! Fishing was so fun, the boys caught lots of fish. Kim was so responsive and kind if we needed anything. It was perfect. We canât wait to come back!
This was our second stay at this property â we love it here. The cottage is clean and has everything we need. It is a peaceful location right on the lake with a wonderful little shady beach. Itâs also very close to town â minutes away from everything that Wolfeboro has to offer. Also so nice to be on the rail trail. Thanks for another wonderful stay!
A lovely location with easy access to the lake and the town. Gracious hosts and a friendly, quiet neighbirhood. Beautiful vies from the property too.
Thank you
I could not have asked for a nicer place to vacation! The cottage was perfect as were the owners! Beautiful location! Definitely want to come here again!
great location easy walk to downtown along the rail trail right behind the house. The dock and beach are right there and made for easy access and excellent fishing. The kayaks were a huge plus for us!
This property is the place I stayed with extended family back in late 60âs!! It is beautifully restored extremely clean and the pictures represent it perfectly!
We enjoyed the serenity!
( only one negative if coming with 4 people- no closets in bedrooms)
The property was beautiful, right on the lake. We enjoyed using the kayaks to explore both crescent lake and lake wentworth. Access to the beach area was also a major bonus for our 8 year old, who swam everyday. We also enjoyed having access to the trail right behind the property, my husband and daughter took a walk each morning into town to go to Dunkin and we walked each night into town to try out local pizza places. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely stay again.
Overall my husband and I had a very nice time. The weather was perfect and the cottage is updated, comfortable, and a great size for two people. We had a hiccup though upon check-in where the cottage wasn't cleaned from the prior guests. After traveling for 8 hours we had to wait over 4 hours for the owner to come clean it. It was frustrating as we had traveled so far and couldn't unpack or go inside until after 10pm. The owner was contact able and did what he could to rectify the situation though which we appreciated.
The lake the cottage sits on is beautiful and it is only 10 ft from the door which was awesome. The walk in to town is also lovely and easy to figure out. I think the listing could be more clear as to what the renters have access to and where they can find it though, as the owner has his home and two cottages on the property. For instance, the canoes/kayaks, which dock is accessible, and the fire pit. It felt intrusive to pull a canoe out from the other cottages property without being sure.
I also think parking and how to find the location could be clearer in the listing. It was hard to find and we weren't sure where to park. Lastly, a coffee pot in the cottage would have been nice.
Overall it was worth the money and stay. I would recommend it.
This was the perfect sized place and is right on beautiful Crescent Lake! We were able to swim, kayak (Used theirs and 2 of our own- they gave 4 total for 2 cottages) and SUP (we brought our own) this lake as well as the larger Wentworth lake almost daily. We were in the last cottage which I thought was nice in that it afforded a bit more privacy. There was a shared fire pit which was lovely, Iâd just recommend bringing a chair or 2 with you if all cottages are full. There was a nice picnic table and umbrella at each cottage for meals by the water which was lovely! Right behind the house is a rail trail that takes you into the town of Wolfboro in one direction and up towards lake Wentworth in the other. We brought our bikes and used it a few times. It is narrow in spots which is hard on bikes, but pretty! I might just walk it next time. The only negatives were the public boat ramp next door as it can be loud and gassy smelling at times and the main road which you can hear from the cottage. And, all things in area close early (5-9 pm), so be aware of that in terms of grocery and regular shopping as well as dining. We also struggled to find good restaurants in the area, particularly on the water. A favorite was Twin Barns Brewery in Meredith, NH for the food and beer. We heard great things about Burnt Timber Brewery in town as well but didnât make it there. The cottage was close to lots of hiking- weâd recommend Red Hill and East Rattlesnake as beautiful overlooks to explore. It was a great trip
at a great place- weâd recommend it!
Stayed here in July with my wife and 2 little boys. This place is great either you are a young couple or a couple with kids. Very quite and beautiful area. Huge plus the 12 mile bike trail right behind the house.
The entire process was seamless. The property was immaculately clean and had most everything we needed. The grill made cooking on a warm summer evening a joy. The beds were comfortable and newly outfitted with casings for the mattresses and pillows to help prevent spread of any infections (Covid precautions). The only thing I wish I had was a standing fan or window fan of some kind to help cool off the space after a warm sunny day but the ceiling fans did the job after an hour or so. Being able to use the kayaks or canoe was a wonderful bonus. The local neighbors had children of varying ages that were all very friendly and shared the beach with us. Everyone we came in contact with was an absolute joy. We canât wait to go back.
This is the first visit our family has made to the lakes region of New Hampshire, and we were not disappointed. My husband and I traveled with two older teens, and the purpose was to relax and enjoy family time before my son graduates high school.
We loved the cabin. It provided just the right amount of space for the four of us. Not so cramped we were on top of each other, but not so big that we never saw the kids. It was clean, and furnished with most all of the essentials we needed for the weekend. The cabin faces the lake, and the windows provided a great view of the lake and nice breezes. We went mid September so it was a bit cool in the evening, but the heater made it very comfortable.
Our entire family made great use of the water toys provided. We had a choice of kayaks or canoes, and opted for the canoes. Crescent Lake was beautiful and clear, and offered some wildlife visits from a couple of loons. There is also a small channel that smaller boats can use to get over to the larger Lake Wentworth. In the evening we enjoyed the fire pit provided and roasted marshmallows.
The cabin also backs up to the Cotton Valley trail, and it provided a great setting for my morning walks. It is mostly flat and has nice scenery of the lake and wooded areas. Next time I would bring bikes so we could explore more of the trail.
The town of Wolfeboro was quaint and charming. Since it was after season there wasn't a whole lot going on, but it was busy enough to enjoy without the large crowds of summer. Most of the restaurants and stores were still open.
All in all this property provided a perfect weekend get away for the family. Both adults and teens enjoyed themselves.
My husband, 2 1/2-year old and I had a great weekend relaxing on Crescent Lake! The home was extremely clean, comfortable, and equipped with all of the essentials and then some (WiFi, TV, coffee pot, nice appliances, kitchenware, linens, towels, etc.). We were specifically seeking a rental where we could dock our 15' Boston Whaler for ease of use and this location did not disappoint. It is just several houses down from the boat ramp for the initial launch but then had a dock right outside our door for a quick 10 steps to "allll aboard" :) I should also mention that the house is directly behind the convenient walking trails that take you right into town with a scenic 1-mile (ish) walk, which was great for morning coffee/breakfast runs. Finally, I cannot say enough nice things about the owners of the home who were extremely responsive to texts, calls and e-mails throughout the whole process, and were actually on site for the last 2 days of our stay, even giving us a fun ride on their beautiful wooden lake boat, which of course my husband now wants! I highly recommend this home and location to anyone seeking a lake getaway!
The property was right next to the water. My boat was readily accessible from the dock. The cottage was clean, furnished nicely, and comfortable.
Kim was an accommodating host, helping us whenever there was a need.
