Just like the pictures!

This was the perfect spot for our family to enjoy Playa! The condo is gorgeous and clean. The updates are wonderful, as we have stayed at another Aldea Thai unit in May, and this condo is much more modern. The view is incredible, and the rooftop pool and hottub were so perfect and fun for my family. Daniel was kind in communication and greeting us with a check-in tour. Walking distance to beach, 5th Avenue, and grocery/convenience stores. We would absolutely hope to return!

Would not return

We spent 8 days in Playa at this property and had multiple issues. When we checked in the rooftop pool was very dirty and the hot tub was not working. The washer/dryer was not working properly and then the card reader door lock was not working and had to be replaced. We did not receive any housekeeping even though we were billed for 1 cleaning and so I asked for a refund and was told no that the receipt was incorrect. The building and property itself is not what it once was and is in need of renovation or at least some refreshing. There are so many other options in the area, I would not return.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit was not as described (or pictured) in the listing - neither the pool or the jacuzzi were working properly. While texts with Playa Moments staff were exchanged in a timely manner, the problems were not resolved and we spent way too much time negotiating the issues and waiting for the maintenance staff to arrive (we were told we need to be there when they came). We were offered a free cleaning as compensation, which we declined as this was a very token effort and did not address the actual problems. The jacuzzi was apparently fixed during our last day which was too late for us to enjoy it. The staff insisted the pool was "functional" but the jets never worked properly as we could see in the pools of other units. They came to clean twice but without the water moving around, the surface quickly accumulated bugs and debris. We booked this listing specifically based on the private jacuzzi and pool, and we used neither.

Nice Apartment Great Location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall the experience was great, the staff at Playa Moments were amazing as well as the staff at Aldea Thai. My only complain is about how strict they were for stain or dirty towels, so just be aware of that, they will charge you for any little dirtiness even if is a little bit of make up, so if you have to wash your face and dry it, better use something else. We had to take time out of our vacation to go to the cleaners and wash about 20kg of towels from both apartments so we don't get charged and spent $60 bucks on that. Some of the towels they classified as "dirty or stain towels" were also floor towels which doesn't make sense to me. I think it will be just better for them to just removed any floor towels they offer or any towels service and just say bring your own towels. That would had made our stay 100%, as i said the staff, the location, the place everything was good, we didn't even mind the construction going on around it, our only complain and headache was how strict they were with that. If I was them I would just put a Bring your own towel rule and avoid that headache.

Upon the arrival & registration process all our guests are informed about extra charges can be experienced with a bad use of the amenities available in the apartment, unfortunately in your case our housekeeping department found some towels stained with make up which cannot be easily removed, we take care of our towels and amenities to provide all guest the most pleaseant experience; we had to charge you the amount of 10usd only to send the items to a special laundry and make sure that stains were removed. We take all guests' commentaries seriously to improve everyday and offer an even better service to our future guests. We hope we give the opportunity to host you again soon and exceed your expectations! Warm regards from Playa Moments' team!

Fantastic location and amazing place. Absolutely perfect for a family with teens. The only issue is if you're going to advertise a hot tub, make sure it works. That was a big reason why we chose that specific unit, and even though I got a youtube video on how to heat the hot tub, it still didn't work. After following the instructions to a T, it would still shut off after a few minutes and not warm up. I asked multiple times for additional help, but was referred back to the youtube video. Many reviews have said the same, so if you plan on paying a premium for this place because of the hot tub, don't expect it to be a different temperature than the unheated plunge pool.

Reviewer Comments: Aldea Thai has an amazing location, just a block from the beach, and I think this unit is one of the best in the complex, with a gorgeous roofdeck. Very spacious for family of 4 with 2-bedrooms and lots of different areas to relax. Probably bring a sound machine for nighttime noise as there is a clubby stretch of bars a block away, but that shouldn't deter you. Excellent stay!

Gerardo immediately reached out to welcome us and provided us with information. The apartment was truly amazing and better than we expected. Spacious, clean, everything you need for your stay is provided and great location. Great and fast service from Gerardo and Daniel from Playa Moments. Can’t wait to do it again! My only suggestion is to be careful when turning in bracelets and room keys. Make sure you have proof. I read in reviews prior to going, that Aldea Thai receptionists will try to charge for those. I do not believe this has anything to do with Playa Moments (managing company) I think it’s the receptionists at Aldea Thai. I turned in a key and bracelet 1 day earlier than the rest and the same guy tried to say he didn’t have record of that. Good thing I had a picture to prove it ;)

Well appointed condo with huge rooftop looking out into the ocean. The place looked recently updated with some chic interior planning including modern lighting, huge, comfortable sofa and new dining room and kitchen furniture (the kitchen tub could use updating). I can't say enough about the managing agent, Nadia, who has been the most welcome to us. She's reached out to us just after landing. Her company has been most helpul and easily accessible on Whatsapp. I believe they have an agent on the property at all times. The condo complex has a cool pool with swim up bar and fun, "Thai style" lobby. Overall the apartment was super inviting, well appointed and containing higher quality soaps/shampoos, beach and regular blankets. You also can't beat the location as it is a block away from the beach and another block from 5th ave where all the action is (probably too much action for our family, as it the avenue gets busy and loud). The apartment, though is nice and quiet. I would definitely come back.

Very so-so experience

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The maid service was scheduled for three visits and never showed up until we had the front desk call after 5 days of no maid service. They locked our room to force us to pay for some additional stains they said was on the beach towels. Otherwise, the front desk was very courteous and helpful. Overall the place was very quiet - many times it felt like we were the only people at the apartment complex. We were expecting a pool view but only had a street view. But the location cannot be beat. Great beaches and the town all in a 1 minute walking distance.

Hi Paul, all cleaning services are confirmed at booking and sent to your email. Your reservation had 3 cleaning services included and were all promptly done. Safe boxes are provided in all units in order to store all personal items for house keeping to proceed, due the the fast that the safe box was not used we had to have our chief housekeeper be present at all your cleaning and therefore can confirm there were made with all linens changed as per laundry notes. We only charged a couple stains on the towels as all our linens are of high quality and try to maintain the same quality for all guest. Our contract does include a penalty for severe stains that can not be removed. Noise and Sun

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: location was great, but it was the noisiest resort I have ever stayed in. Parties from sunrise until the wee hours of the morning and management did little to stop it.

Dear Joseph, so sorry about your comments, the review was about the apartment but I guess everything was ok with it and you have problems with some guests in the building. The building has strict regulations about noise and you have a phone in your apartment to call front- desk and inform any issue. There is also security 24/7 working according to the building policies in order to keep the calm and good behavior of any guest. There is not a resort. Aldea Thai is an enormous apartments building just steps from the beach in Playa del Carmen. I hope next time we can know your preferences in advance to recommend the special place for you in more than 80 unique properties that we manage in Playa del Carmen. Thank you for choosing us. Nice place

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was somewhat unhappy with the location.
