Ten Bits Ranch has some of the best views of the famous Big Bend stars. Since Ten Bits Ranch is completely off grid and located on 550 private acres, there are no neighbors and no ground lights to obscure the perfectly dark night sky.
The amazing solitude is extremely quiet and peaceful day or night. If you come to Ten Bits Ranch when the moon cycle is dark, after 20 minutes (for your eyes to adjust), the stars will appear to surround you like a blanket. Be sure to watch for shooting stars. There is a shooting star in view at Ten Bits Ranch almost every week. Ten Bits Ranch offers a truly private, unique, off grid, dark sky star gazing experience that few people have the opportunity to see in person. The craggy Chimney Rock Mountain blocks out a beautiful black jagged silhouette in the blanket of stars.

Saloon contains one king bed, a private bar (BYOB) with mini fridge and microwave, 2 gas log fireplaces, flat screen HD TV (Dish Network), a private bath, WIFI access, air conditioning.

The Saloon is a Standard single king room and is part of a quad-plex with the Jail, Freight Office and Bath House rooms. The Saloon has double connecting doors with the Jail and with the Freight Office that can provide an excellent option for groups to share these rooms. To have connecting rooms, please reserve the Jail and/or the Freight Office to share these two (or three) unique rooms during your stay.

As part of our plan, each XBR cabin fits into the overall design of our western town. The décor reminds you of the late 1800’s, but the amenities are modern. We are completely off the grid with solar powered energy. Our power system has proven to be more reliable than the local power company.

When you consider your options for Big Bend National Park cabins, you will be happy with our beautiful yet convenient location. We’re a short 15 minute drive to Terlingua and Study Butte. But we’re far enough away to rest and relax in the surrounding desert and mountainous topography. Big Bend National Park and entrance to the Santa Elena Canyon Trail are just 20 minutes away.

The Ten Bits Ranch Cantina is a unique and enjoyable part of your experience at Ten Bits Ranch. Your room access code will allow you access to the Cantina. Guests will find a self-serve continental breakfast provided 24/7 in the Cantina. There is also a large dining area and full-kitchen in the Cantina. Three full-size refrigerators and two stoves and oven are available for all guests to use during their stay. Out back of the Cantina, you will also find 2 propane grills for your use. Pots and pans, dishes and basic utensils are provided for use during your stay at Ten Bits Ranch.
