We loved this house and its prime location. The house has been very recently renovated to perfection and has everything needed for a short or longer stay. Highly reccomend.
Great location for hiking and exploring the area. The cabin was spacious, with really comfortable beds and bedrooms and lots of room in the living area to relax and have group meals. Very memorable.
Really enjoyed staying at the Old Wheel. The whole family loved the aesthetic especially the loft. Great place to easily visit the Adirondack Loj and Lake Placid. Will definitely stay here again when we visit lake placid!
Such a pleasant stay. Close to where we needed to be. Outstanding view coming out of the backyard trail. Was very pleased with the property and ease of booking.
The house was spotless upon arrival. Ton of space. Everything is brand new and in excellent working condition. The location is very convenient. I would highly recommend this house to anyone.
Loved this cabin!! It was so beautiful and rustic. Charming all around! Close to many places for hiking and watching the sunset on the LOJ road right next to the cabin. There was road noise but that did not take away from the experience! Thank you so much for the lovely stay!
Lake Placid reminded us of old memories and created new. If youâre thinking of coming to this area, this property is outstanding. The home is warm and welcoming and updated in every way. The outdoor porch deck was enjoyed morning, noon and night. Highly recommend this property.
Our family absolutely LOVED this cabin! It was exactly what we were looking for! It was an incredible experience from beginning to end. We even did our wedding vows on the back porch. Just us and our 3 kids. <3 Thank you for an unforgettable trip!
We loved our stay at the Old Wheel. Our boys, ages 6 and 10, were absolutely enamored with the cabin and took turns sleeping in the loft. There's no TV, and they never even mentioned in -- there was so much to explore!
This cabin is conveniently located near some of the most popular hikes in the area and is just down the street from Lake Placid.
Beautiful vintage log cabin! The attention to detail in renovating this cabin was amazing! So much history in the house. Very clean and bed very comfortable. U get noise from I-73, but does not affect sleep! Make sure u walk over to Adk-LOJ for amazing views!
A unique experience to stay in an old restaurant apparently built in anticipation for the 1932 Olympics. Built in the rustic style, the owners have apparently made an effort to preserve as much of the building as possible as well as the original layout. Also, as it's located on the corner of Highway 73 and the Adirondak Loj Road, it's only minutes to Lake Placid or minutes from many of the high peaks trails. To boot, there is a spectacular view of a meadow with the high peaks behind it about 20 steps from the back door. We had a great time!
Lovely house, super clean lots of extra touches. We appreciated the holiday decorations very much. Communication was fantastic. Location is perfect and the views are amazing.
Truly wonderful! Thank you for working hard to get the wifi up! We were able to work remotely while our kids were at camp. It worked out wonderfully!
Home is really spotless and has a very cool vibe.
The cabin is classic Adirondack and provided lots of space for for us to spread out and relax. The location is perfect for hikers whom wish to be at the âhubâ of numerous trails yet only a short drive to Lake Placid where we had the choice of many good restaurants to grab a hearty meal to recharge our batteries after a day of hiking.
I would highly recommend this spacious and charming log cabin home. The detail and historic relics that adorn this home, make for a great setting to start your Lake Placid exploration.
Truly unique!
Have lived in Lake Placid all my life. I own a bed and breakfast inside the village. When my work load lets up, I like to hike or ski and a good book is a great way to relax.
The property this house sits on have been in my family since 1866. I lived inside Lake Placid until I was 15 when we moved into this house. I love coming out of my driveway and seeing the different moods of the mountains and the sunsets.
The area is very quiet, beautiful and as i have mentioned above you can never get enough of the sunsets. Plus even though it is 3 miles out of town it is not that far from all the local activities.
