Chuck was an outstanding hostâprompt in replying, clear with directions, and thoughtful in checking in to be sure all was well (in a genuine, non-intrusive way). The cabin was exactly as described, yet even more delightful in person thanks to so many special touches. We loved the thoughtful amenities: cozy robes, an immaculately clean whirlpool tub for two, bath salts and herbs made on the farm, and even toiletries like makeup remover cloths and toothbrushes if needed. With no Wi-Fi or TV, the cabinâs charm really shinedâstocked with board games (we played Trivial Pursuit!), a wonderfully eclectic library, and a CD player. We even listened to a CD of the concert that was our very first dateâ14 years to the day! What impressed us most, though, were the personal touches: fresh flowers in a vase on the coffee table, mints on the bed, and a handwritten note waiting when we arrived. These details made us feel genuinely welcome and cared for.As the quote says, âInto the forest I go to lose my mind and find my soul.â This cabin was exactly that kind of restorative retreat.
