Charming and Relaxing 4br Farmhouse - Ski + Hiking

We are thrilled to share our idyllic country home with you and hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Built in 1882, set on a hill with ample indoor and outdoor space (two kitchens!) overlooking the Housatonic River and the famous West Cornwall bridge, our fully stocked house is close to hiking, fishing, kayaking, skiing/snowboarding. Set in gorgeous Litchfield Hills near the Appalachian trail, wineries, breweries, farms, rivers and lakes, waterfalls, antiques, casual or fine dining.
The space
Step into the comfort of our beautiful 4BR/ 2.5 BA farmhouse . We like to describe the decor as modern farmhouse. There is plenty of space for everyone and sleeps 8. It is steps away from the Housatonic River & West Cornwall Covered Bridge. It offers a relaxing getaway close to hiking and fishing and the quaint village of West Cornwall. The house is located across Rt 7 and an easy walk through the bridge across the river and into town. There are many places to hike around the area and explore the countryside. A lot of farm stands, breweries, wineries, pick your own fruit and pumpkins, antique stores, and amazing restaurants within a short drive away.

Plenty of natural light comes through the large windows, making the home very bright during the day. The fully equipped kitchen and adjacent dining area are where you'll get to prepare and enjoy delicious meals with your loved ones before relaxing in one of the many communal rooms , setting the stage for memorable evenings.

Retreat to four comfortable bedrooms, which allow you to rest after an exciting day of outdoor adventures (or more rest ;)

But wait! The best is yet to come! Step outside to one of the inviting outdoor spaces (first floor porch, screened in back porch, or second floor back deck) where you can catch a breath of fresh air, listen to the river and enjoy a beautiful sunset. You can also enjoy a family corn hole tournament or game of bocce.

When you've had enough of the great outdoors, you'll be able to retreat to the second-floor rec room and have a fun movie/board game night.

There are numerous options in this cozy and spacious home. We are looking forward to you experiencing them all.

★ SCREENED IN PORCH ★

We have two kitchens!
First floor kitchen - It is fully equipped with cooking appliances that make it suitable for preparing any meal, whether a simple breakfast, quick snack, or a three-course gourmet dinner.

Second floor kitchen - The house was divided into two units and converted back into a single family, and we still have two kitchens. The second kitchen is not stocked, but has working oven, stove, fridge and you are welcome to use it. The room has great light and I like to do yoga in this room ;)

Have a few drinks on the porch while the food is getting ready. Once it's done, serve it on the dining table and enjoy a tasty meal with your loved ones.

★ SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS – 4 BEDROOMS ★
After an exciting day of country adventures, you will be looking to rest for an equally entertaining tomorrow. Once you are ready to relax, please make your way to these comfortable bedrooms.

♛There is also a lounge on first floor with a door that closes and two twin mattresses (in the closet) and linens (in window bench). You could put the mattresses on the floor and sleep two more in this room.

★ BATHROOMS ★
Besides the ensuite bathroom of the master bedroom, the house features an additional bathroom that caters to the remaining bedrooms and the living area on the first floor off of the kitchen. There is a half bathroom on the second floor and another sink in the second floor kitchen. All are stocked with fresh towels and essential toiletries to ensure you have a carefree stay.

★ OUTDOOR AREAS ★
A fantastic home like this would not shine in its best light if it did not have private areas where you can relax and enjoy the breathtaking views. Step out onto the front porch, the backyard or second floor deck offering a serene oasis perfect for relaxation and outdoor activities.

★ COVID-19 SANITIZATION and CLEANING★
Heath, safety, and well-being of our guests are of utmost importance. For this reason, we use a thorough cleaning process after each check-out. Our home is over 140 years old and, though greatly cared for, shows its age in some places. Expect to find some loving wear, quaint aging and charming patina both inside and outside.

★WATER TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE★
There is plenty of water from the well and plenty of hot water. When there is a very full house, the water pressure and temperature can be affected if many people try to use the water at the same time.

★ NO SMOKING ON PROPERTY ★
Smoking/vaping/incense are NOT allowed inside our property. Violation of this rule incurs a $500 fine. Thank you very much for your understanding.

★ NO PARTIES/EVENTS ★
We kindly ask you to treat our home as your own to preserve its pristine condition for future guests and your return visits. Thank you very much for your understanding.

★ SMALL DOG POLICY ★
Must send request. Less than 35 pounds. Can’t be left alone in the house. Will use Security deposit and add additional cleaning fees if any mess.
