Our family had a wonderful time! The house was very clean and had all we needed in the kitchen to cook our meals. We enjoyed the games that were in the house and especially loved all the water activities available to use!
We enjoyed the peace and quiet every morning while drinking coffee at the picnic table the kids loved taking all the toys out on the lake and really enjoyed taking the pontoon boat around and jumping of it in the middle of the lake overall it was a great vacation at an awesome location we will be back again
This was a great property and Russ was great! I had my sons with me and we loved the fishing and boating! Plenty to do in the area as well. The boys and I had a great time!
This cottage is cute, clean, and everything you can ask for! The kids had a great time kayaking and swimming in the lake. Russell was very attentive and helpful. We would love to stay again!
Renting the pontoon boat is highly recommended! There are not many restaurants in the area, so if you want to stay in the neighborhood, we recommend bringing groceries. The place is small and cozy. Helpful owners live next door.
We loved everything about our stay at Twin Lake. The house was perfect for our family of 4. The beds were comfortable and our eldest chose to sleep on the comfy couch instead of a bed. We had everything we needed to cook meals. The two living spaces were nice for our 12 and 20 year olds to chill alone if they wanted. The lake was wonderful. We rented the boat which we used daily. We caught a variety of fish from the dock and the boat. We swam in the lake which is clean, warm, and very clear. We took the boat out each evening to watch the sunset which was beautiful. You could also watch it from the beach. We loved the area in general. Within a few minutes you can get the basics. Within 20 minutes you could get anything you needed.
Very nice open home. A lot of family lives nearby, we hosted a couple of small gatherings, adults only. There was plenty of space and the openness of the house made for fun conversations. Kitchen was well-equipped. Bedroom and bathroom were also great, clean and large just two of us stayed overnight. We really could not have asked for a better place close to Muskegon.
Highly recommended. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The beach was great. We used the kayaks often! Great place to stay for our son. The owner Russ was super friendly and full of good recommendations!
This was our first week long vacation with the while family. 2 adults and 3 kids (5-12). Fantasic experience. Kids loved it, rented the pontoon, fished, swam, kayaked. Would recommend 10 out of 10.
It was just my husband and I for this trip but it works for kids as well. It's a wonderful little two-bedroom lake house with access to private beach area and boat dock. There are paddle boats and kayaks you can use while staying here. It was a wonderful little getaway.
Back for our second summer at this property and it did not disappoint! The perfect little house in an incredible spot, with just about everything you could need for a fun-filled week of adventures on the lake and in West Michigan!!
Hoping to convince my extended family to stay with this location!!
Plenty to do and lots of fish and turtles. Fully loaded kitchen. Plenty of seating inside and out. Also, Russell was great! He and his wife live right next door. Will rent again.
My family and I had a great time at this property. The kids paddle board and kayaked around the island several times a day. We didnât realize until the last day that just to the left with whites posts was where the park was and the kids could paddle their way to the park with ease. The house had clean linens and the kitchen had just about all we needed aside from food. My daughter left a bracelet she made for Jill by the journals. Thank you Russ!
Our whole week was absolutely fabulous! Russell was very gracious host and his family and neighbors were helpful and friendly. The cottage was clean and cozy & had evrything we needed. The scenery was beautiful and the pontoon boat a blast! We even drove into downtown Fremont and spent an afternoon shopping. I highly recommend this cottage
This cottage had all of the essentials and the ability to stay distanced and safe for health reasons. That made this cottage ideal. The bonus was how great the owners are and how many fun water toys they provided. They even went above and beyond to keep me from getting sick. I'm allergic to all perfumes so they needed to use unscented soaps on all the linens. They were wonderful and I didn't have any health issues. Beware. If you are like me and insects love you, be sure to bring your bug spray.
This place was perfect for our family vacation! We feel so lucky we chose this place. Our 3 young children thoroughly enjoyed swimming at the beach right off the backyard, and the beach in the other side of the small island just off shore. The kids also loved using the paddleboat. We didn't even get a chance to use the kayaks they also provide. We decided to rent the pontoon boat and used it almost every day. We went fishing, swimming, and took the boat to the ice cream shop located on the public beach area. The kids thought that was pretty cool! The neighborhood is serene and scenic. The lake is beautiful. The sandy beach in the back yard kept the kids busy when they weren't in the water. The owner was very nice and attentive. The home was very clean and well stocked with dishes, silverware, grill & cooking essentials, bath towels, etc. It is close enough to Grand Haven State Park & Beach which was also a great time. We look forward to coming back here for another family vacation!
Had Everything for the Family/Great Lake House Experience
The unit accommodated all of our family's needs. It had many amenities for the kids. There was a pedal boat, paddle board, multiple kayaks and oars, sand toys, fishing poles and some tackle supplies, and lifejackets for different members of the family. There was an optional pontoon boat rental which we opted for and enjoyed using. The kids found shells along its beach as well as the small island right in front of the property. They got out of the pontoon to play along the shallow water and beach at the island.
We referenced the binder in the unit for the check-out process. It also contained a nicely organized list of local shops/food/activities. We went to Northside Pub for lunch and their pizza was great. We went to The Scoop for ice cream and the kids loved it. We spent one day at the Michigan's Adventure amusement park and it was a good time for the whole family and it was only about a 12 minute drive. Meijer and Walgreens and gas stations are all nearby.
The owner, Russell, was friendly and helpful. He provided very timely responses and clear communication.
My only complaint with the property was that the surfaces were dirty and dusty. I wiped up crumbs on the table/island/countertop. There was dust build up over other surfaces, including fans and headboards. Other than the sand we tracked in, the rest of the surfaces were left cleaner than how we found them. So if there is one thing that could be approved about the unit, it would be the cleaning process.
