We fell in love with this house at first sight. The property itself is nestled in a little cluster of homes, most of which were built in the mid 1800's, just over one mile from the Village of Cooperstown. The homes are far enough apart to have privacy but not feel remote. The southern facing front porch is set back from the main road just far enough where the cars will not interrupt a conversation but you can take in the daily passerby's. The back porch is serene- looking out over the quiet yard, you can hear the creek the moment you step out the door! Whether you are enjoying a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine, the sounds will melt your stress away. Just a short 8 minute walk down the street is the Clark Sports Center- just a few features you can enjoy with a visitor pass are a Sports Performance Area– Three Swimming Pools – Eight-lane Bowling Alley – Fitness Game Room – Indoor Rock Climbing Wall – Outdoor Low Ropes Challenge Course – Outdoor Ropes Course with Zip Line – Walking/Biking Trails – Trackman Golf Simulator. The Clark Sports Center fields are also the Baseball Hall of Fame Induction site- you cannot beat the ability to walk from the house! The local grocery store is a short 5 minute drive as well as all the restaurants and shops in the Village. If you are wanting a nice walk for exercise, you cannot beat walking from the house 1.2 miles down to the base of Otsego Lake to Council Rock Park. The walk has a short stretch on the main road but the speed limits are 35 and then you get to the beautiful house lined quiet streets of town that lead you down to into the village and waterfront. From Council Rock Park, you are a few blocks from the local coffee shop- makes for the perfect morning workout!
