Beachside home with easy access to the beach with a private pool.
Beachside Oaks is the perfect spot to be able to explore all that Jekyll Island has to offer! From the beautiful beaches, the rich history in the Historical District, great biking paths, and yummy eats, the Island has something for everyone. With easy access to the beach and a private pool, youâll have plenty of opportunity to soak up the sunshine. The house is great for large groups, with plenty of space to spread out in the multiple living areas or cozy up on the couch for a movie.
The house had everything we needed & was an easy walk to the beach. The kids loved the pool during an exceptionally hot week. It would have been nice to have a few beach chairs available. Overall it was a great week.
We could not have been more pleased with our stay! The home was perfect for our family of 12. The description and photos were exactly as listed. The location was ideal! Having the pool was an added bonus for our little ones who needed a break from the beach. There
We had a great time here on Jekyll Island. The location, bedrooms, and overall hangout space was perfect for our group of 12. Will definitely look to book again!
Excellent for our family!! Very nice, spacious, beautiful and great location!! For large families bring extra toilet paper. We had a fabulous vacation! We will stay again and recommend this place to anyone !
Carpet upstairs is in bad shape and it could use a deep cleaning or replacing. Two roaches were found, one in kitchen one in upstairs bedroom. It needs a deep cleaning. Plus side, Itâs in a great location, big enough for a large group, that was nice. Sorry I would want to know this if I were going to rent a house. Despite all we had a great time.
Great location in a wonderfully peaceful home - probably the best place for a large family to stay!
The location of this house is really terrific. Just across the lane from the beach access (just a couple of houses on that lane so no traffic). Wonderfully quiet as well. We never heard street noise, etc. We were a family group ranging from 4 months to 68 years and the young ones could nap in upstairs rooms while the young adults laughed and joked downstairs without disturbing them. There are several great areas to visit as well. We have two celiacs in our group so cleanliness is always something we are sensitive to. Too often, we have to clean the kitchen before using a rental due to the random bread crumbs or something that signals that someone may not be safe. But this house was cleaned super well. No issues at all. The pool is very nice and again, kept clean. There were an only two things that I wish we had known on the less than super positive side. The upstairs bedroom with the en suite bath ran a bit hot. Granted we were there during a heat wave and that may not have been an issue if the weather wasn't in the low 90's. The 4 month old napped there and wore a monitor that included ambient temperature so we know the room was running 3-7 degrees warmer than the thermostat in the next room. The other thing is just something to be aware of. The internet is on the slow side. Twice we tried to stream movies and both times, the movies kept buffering. The speed check I did indicated it was downloading at 2.6 Mbps. Not big deals. We plan on returning!
Beachside Oaks was everything we could have hoped for. Plenty of room for two families to spread out and enjoy spring break together. Location was perfect and the house is charming and spacious. We love Jekyll Island and would love to stay here again.
We stay at VRBOs often and this was by far the best! The host was quick, responsive, and very kind. The house was huge and laid out in such a way that 11 of us were never crowded or claustrophobic. In fact, we had such a great time that we plan on booking again for next summer. Thank you for a beautiful place to stay on vacation!
We had an amazing stay at this beachside home! There was more than enough room for 12 of us. There was space to have privacy when wanted, allowed 15 of us to eat dinners together, the kids to hang out and adults, too! We worked on a puzzle during the week and enjoyed the pool every day. The beach access was very close, too!
Great Location. Could Use Some Minor Fixes to Make it Excellent.
Pros: Location was fabulous! Steps away from the beach, where we were some of very few people there each day! This made beach to pool time transition for the younger kids so easy! We also found so many sand dollars, full conk shells, and many many crabs! The house was spacious with plenty of room for the 12 of us that we're staying there (ages 1-66). Plenty of puzzles and games for all to enjoy. Communication was excellent when Wi-Fi went out due to a storm, and money was refunded due to the time we had to wait for a tech to come out.Cons: We had to wash and share bowls when needed because there were only 6. A few more kitchen towels would have been good. We had asked about a pack n play and high chair and bought one of each on the way because we were told there was not either. There is a pack and play in one of the upstairs bedroom closets. Also, wish there was a way to use the 5 gallon water purifier. We went to multiple places (that we were told could provide us one for the week) and no one knew what we were talking about or were out. Ended up buying multiple cases for the week instead. Upstairs carpets could definitely use a good sweep around corners/edges and probably even a good carpet cleaning. We wish there would have been an option to sweep out the pool ourselves after a couple storms. Make sure you buy extra toilet paper, trash bags, and paper towels as the listing states. You will need them.
Large house. Plenty of room for big groups. Beds were very comfortable. Nice kitchen. Decor was very beachy and pretty. Kid friendly. Many sitting areas for eating and just hanging out. Lots of games and puzzles for those rainy times. Pool was nice. Kids loved it. Short walking distant from the beach. Had deer in our yard every day. Very friendly and quiet neighborhood. Beach area was not crowded. Overall loved the location, the house, and everything about it. Only regrets.... Wish we could have stayed longer.
We stayed here for Christmas and had such a great time. Our group ranged from the ages of 19 to 88 and there was something for all of us to do! We enjoyed hiking, bird watching and strolling on Driftwood Beach. We also visited the Georgia Sea Turtle Center and enjoyed the beautiful Christmas lights. The house is very spacious and with six bedrooms all of us had a comfortable place to sleep. We paid extra to get the pool heated and enjoyed swimming in the pool under the stars on December nights. The kitchen is well stocked and the house comes with two refrigerators which comes in very handy with big groups! Plenty of room for drink and food storage. What if it rains??? The house is well stocked with puzzles, books and games should the weather be uncooperative. The beach is seconds away from the house and my father and daughter who are biologists loved exploring the tidal pools and observing the critters that live in them. There is a small grocery store close by and restaurants to enjoy near the house. If you need a well stocked store Publixs is about 15 mins away and if you love seafood I highly recommend City Market Seafood in Brunswick. Don't hesitate to stay at this house! 13 of us stayed here and we loved every moment of it. The house is comfortable, stylish and is a place to make wonderful family memories.
We all loved our week on Jekyll Island! We had a pretty big family, 15 total, and we all felt at home at the house. Plenty of room to spread out and set up so that we could all eat meals together when we wanted to. Would definitely love to come back!!
The house was roomy and great setup of different areas to hang out in. The pool was perfect! We really enjoyed the closeness of the beach. We saw deer almost every night! Our only wish for a better stay was having enough basic supplies. One trash bag for10 people for four days, not an extra roll of T-paper in each room. I have never had to bring, or buy in this case, my own trash bags and toilet paper for a stay anywhere.
I must also note the helpfulness if the police. We had a car battery go bad and upon the recommendation of a local we called the non emergency police line. They came right out and gave us a jump to get started. Very friendly!
Yes, I would stay again!
