Great quiet place to stay for us. We only got to stay for a night, but we were able get a great nights rest. Loved all the artwork created by the owner. Hope to visit the area again. We know we have a place to stay.
The owner was nice and accomaditing. The place was cute . Clean, good for a short trip . It's comfortable for 2 people. Liked the decor and the fresh flowers on the table. We would stay there again.
Very clean and new, owner lived upstairs so communication was great. Some things to note...there is a small kitchenette with microwave, coffee pot, refrigerator, etc. But there is no kitchen sink or stove, so no from scratch cooking. Also, the shower is very small. small
Beverly was an amazing host (and artist). The condo was a quick drive to the state park where our friends were camping which was perfect. After a long day of lake-ing it was wonderful to be able to give our dog a bath, hose down all our stuff, and cook outdoors while watching the wildlife. 10/10!
We had a very peaceful and relaxing weekend . The space was very clean and comfortable. Beverly was very kind and got right back to us when we had an issue getting in the apartment. The short walk to the lake made for enjoyable morning coffee and bird watching. Me enjoyed the deer who visited frequently too! Overall a great experience!
We enjoyed our stay at smith mountain lake. Property was just as described - clean, appliances/grill/amenities all in good condition. Walk to the dock through the path in the woods was easy. They had laid down hay which was helpful since the rain made things a bit soggy. We brought our boat and spent most of the day on the lake - was just the kind of place we needed to have a place to go back to sleep and cook. Would rent again. Thanks Beverly!
Overall great little spot. Parking is a bit tight for a longer boat but as long as itâs not your first time backing a boat/trailer youâll be fine. Would recommend staying here. Less than 5 minutes to the state park boat ramp
We had a wonderful night in the mountains and trails of Smith Mountain Lake. The owner was so nice and apartment spotless! Walk down the hill and youâll see the lake, kyaks , boats. We had a great time.
The cottage is tiny. Clean but set up for small(short) people. The lake is only viewable from a tiny opening in the trees distant. Walkway to the lake and shared dock is terrible. Muddy and wet and debris. If your going to see the lake you donât want to go here.
Very quiet, clean, and cozy place to spend a few days at the lake. a short walk to the water and a short drive to local restaurants/stores.
a few tips: 1. check for ticks as there are many deer and bunnies around the premises/neighborhood yards. I found a tiny one on me and a large one on my dog. 2. don't leave items unattended on the dock as it's shared and others can mistakenly or intentionally take your flip flops or towels ;) though they ended up being returned when asked.
FYI - The power goes out during storms or when running 2+ appliances at same time. And trash has to be taken to a designated dump site.
The heat lamp in the bathroom was really great to help dry wet clothes. The bed was very comfortable and having Roku TV was nice.
There is no kitchen sink/dishwasher so having paper plates and plastic utensils was great.
Overall a good and relaxing stay for 2.
Beautiful apartment. Great location. Excellent commutation. We got to see deers in the morning as we ate breakfast. A mile away Smith Mountain State Park. All in all great mini vacation and great place to stay at.
I'm a retired art teacher after 40 some years of teaching. I love the lake and it provides some solace for nurturing my creative spirit as an artist as well as an art-educator. My mediums are painting and photography. I grew up in this area and received my education through to a masters in this region. I have a West Highland Terrier named Stewey and he is a fun companion. We love the lake!!!!!
