Ce magnifique chalet vintage a Ă©tĂ© construit en 1913. C'Ă©tait un lieu de repos pour les voyageurs de passage Ă  cheval et en buggy. C'est vraiment unique en son genre et nous sommes fiers de dire que nous l'avons ouvert aux voyageurs qui disent que c'est le meilleur endroit pour se reposer. Il dispose de toutes les commoditĂ©s telles qu'une chambre avec un lit queen-size pouvant accueillir confortablement deux personnes. Il a Ă©galement protĂ©gĂ© le wifi, la tĂ©lĂ©vision par cĂąble, le lecteur DVD Samsung blue ray, la cuisine, la laveuse / sĂ©cheuse, le foyer Ă©lectrique, la terrasse, le barbecue et le garage privĂ©. De plus, il y a deux vĂ©los (le sien), des planches de bodyboard, des chaises de plage, un parapluie, un chariot de plage, un sac de plage et deux serviettes de plage pour votre confort. We had the most amazing time!! Gorgeous and Cozy!! Location is great!! Close to everything . The condo was perfect, over the top. We didnt need anything, the special touches were so appreciated! We didnt want to leave! Our Host and Hostess were amazing people, easy check in. Definitely coming back here!! Thanks again for everything!

Magical cottage exactly as advertised and much more.

We stayed two months and enjoyed every second. Very quiet little cottage above your own private garage with your own washer and dryer and everything you would need for the beach boogie boards, chairs, plus a cart to carry them. Also had fun using retro bicycles . The cottage itself was immaculate and had everything you could possibly want or need. The hosts could not have been nicer or more accomodating .

I couldn't have enjoyed my stay more. The beach cottage was the perfect size, curated perfectly and Sonia and Darwin were simply the best! I'd stay there again in a heartbeat!

Really nice place with so many thoughtful details

My wife and I came to LA to visit our son, a college student. The location was perfect - close enough to him yet also walking distance to Manhattan Beach and boardwalk so we could walk/run/bike ride every day as well as visit with him when he was available. Lots of good restaurants in walking distance as well and a Von's grocery store also. Did have a garage so we were able to park our rental at no extra charge and without hassle of seeking street parking. The unit had every amenity we needed: wonderfully comfortable bedroom. bathroom and living areas, well-equipped kitchen that even included chocolates and a bottle of wine. Thoughtful night-light in bathroom and great lighting all throughout, nice Grohe hand-held showerhead, excellent storage space (that bedroom closet is so functional), additional amenities like yoga mats, beach towels, first aid kit, toiletries, very nice bikes (and our hosts quickly provided bike locks when we requested them), new washer and dryer. Also has an outdoor shower to wash off the beach sand and BBQ grill on the deck - we didn't use those this time but maybe next time! A true home away from home. And the interior decorating is a coastal-themed soothing feel. Great place to relax, enjoy our visits with our son and our time on the beach. Thank you Sonia & Darwin for a great place to stay.

Magical cottage

Sonia and Darwin have outdone themselves with this adorable gem of a cottage. They could not have been more hospitable and their property could not be more perfect and cozy for an east coast gal who’s always dreamt of making the move and becoming a west coast/Manhattan Beach inhabitant. Literally two blocks and your toes are in the sand. As Ahnold once said, “I’ll be back!”

Charming Beach Cottage

We had a lovely week at this charming beach cottage. The cottage itself has so much character from being so old and the beachy decor makes it fresh and comfortable. Everything was very clean, the bed was super comfortable and it is well stocked with bathroom and kitchen items. The location can't be beat - so close to the beach and lots of great restaurants and shops within short walking distance. Sonya and Darwin were great hosts - friendly and available for any questions we had. I highly recommend this property!

Perfect beach cottage in the perfect location in MB

Sonya has created magic in this perfect beach cottage. She also responded to requests promptly. The location couldn't be better. Blocks from the beach and town. Walk or bike to Hermosa. 15 minutes to LAX. I highly recommend this property.

Pandemic Tragedy Made Easier

The place was wonderful but we had to leave early as California was sheltering in place on the 19th because of the pandemic. Everything around us shut down days before. The owner has graciously permitted us to extend next year's stay by the two weeks we lost this year. I absolutely can not say enough about how wonderful Sonia is.

Living at the Beach

This is our hands down favorite vacation rental. The property is adorably decorated and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. There is room to cook and entertain with friends, short walk to the beach, easy walk to restaurants, the pier, shopping, and groceries. We feel like residents in the community. Darwin and Sonia are fantastic and truly lovely people.

Another amazing stay at the cottage

This was my second time staying at the cottage and even more memorable and amazing than the first. I hesitate to tell the world how wonderful this place is because I don't want to share. After quite a bit of searching for a place in the area surrounding Santa Monica /LA/ Manhattan Beach, I was happy to come across this little gem of a place! We use VRBO a lot and are very particular. Sonia and Darwin have thought of absolutely every little detail to make a stay in this accommodation comfortable and fulfilled. The unit is immaculate! The kitchen has everything you’ll need and more, the bathroom as well, and the bed and bedding is fabulous. The location is excellent as it’s a short walk from the beach, as well as tons of restaurants and shops. Thank you Sonia and Darwin for a lovely stay in your home away from our home!

Perfect Beach Cottage in Manhattan Beach!

This beach cottage was absolutely perfect! We were celebrating an anniversary and were unexpectedly greeted with rose petals, champagne and chocolate. The location is great, just a couple of blocks from everything (beach, main streets, restaurants). The cottage is so charming and well decorated, a perfect retreat. Wonderful Manhattan Beach Getaway

We are frequent tenants of VRBO properties and this one is exceptional. It's a home away from home and absolutely perfect for a beach loving couple. My husband lived in MB for 18 years and this was a great way to reconnect with our friends. Can walk everywhere, bike the strand, farmers market on Tuesday, and great bars/restaurants. nearby. Sonia and Darwin are wonderful hosts, even allowing us to park the Tundra in their open spot. It felt like home and we look forward to future stays.

Fantastic Place Close to the Beach and Town

Dates: April 2018 Booking: The owner Sonia made the booking process very easy, she is very responsive, professional, organized and has everything under control. Location: I’ve stayed in MB many times and this location is hard to beat, 2 blocks to the beach, couple blocks to downtown Manhattan and 20 min ride by Uber from the airport. There is no need to rent a car in this location as you can walk anywhere. The cottage: Beautiful, airy, 1 bedroom/1 bath, plus a nice size dinning room and living room (with cute office section), good size kitchen and a very nice patio that gets sun most of the day. The cottage has wonderful feel to it and looks even bigger in real life than on photos. The place was spotless, very clean, extremely organized, stocked with everything needed to enjoy your stay. The owner has literally thought of EVERYTHING. There was card, bottle of wine, water and chocolates and fresh flower waiting upon my arrival. What a wonderful touch – thank you Sonia and Darwin! Kitchen: Has all the supply you will need, including Kuerig coffee maker with generous supply of coffee, drip coffee machine, toaster, microwave, fridge, even basics (seasonings, oil, tea), kitchen towels, paper towels, plastic cups/paper plates, good dishes and pots, soaps
 Dining room: Is separate with very nice table and 4 chairs Living room: Comfy couches, excellent TV channel selection, WIFI worked perfectly, they also have AC and heater (if needed) Bedroom: Comfy bed, ton of places to put your clothes away, plenty of hangers/drawers... Bathroom: Full tub, great shower head, nice plush towel (ton of spare towels also available). There are also 2 beach towels Patio: 2 comfy chairs, great for relaxing, BBQ (which I haven’t used), they also have folding tables. The patio gets sun most of the day. Garage: For one vehicle, full washer and dryer plus 2 bikes Beach supply (in garage): Everything is covered - from surfboard, buggy boards, 2 beach chairs, umbrella, beach trolley, volleyball and beach racquets, tar removal
.(2 beach towels) This place simply has it all. The service is impeccable, better than most 5 star hotels. I can’t wait to get back. Special THANK YOU to Sonia and Tony, for making my stay wonderful!

Incredible location and the cottage is very well decorated! Enjoyed the home like feel.

We came to celebrate our anniversary (first weekend away from our 7month old). We were so surprised to walk into beautiful flowers, balloon, chocolates, chilled champagne, and beautiful rose petals leading to the room. There was even a cute sign with Happy Anniversary. It was such an incredible surprise. This place is a perfect central location to all things Manhattan Beach!! We never once used our car during our stay. We walked to the beach, to the main areas, and even had the opportunity to be in town to walk to the hometown fair. Make sure to stay at this charming cottage!!

Hello! My name is Sonia. My husband Darwin and I have been married for 38 wonderful years. We have 4 beautiful grown children who grew up in the South Bay, and 2 grandchildren.
My husband Darwin Pagett was raised in this adorable cottage in his elementary years then moved to Hawaii until he graduated High School. He moved back to Manhattan Beach to start his own business which is now Surfline Plumbing.
I’ve had the privilege of being a stay at home Mom and homeschooled our children. Once they were grown and moved out I decided to open the cottage up as a vacation rental which is my full-time job these days. I am very particular about the cleanliness so I clean it myself. When it's not being rented, Darwin and I stay there. We enjoy riding our bikes 4-5 days a week, sunbathing and surfing! We are very happy to share this vacation rental with others and we hope that you enjoy it as much as we do and that it feels like home away from home for you.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Westwinds Cottage is a place full of special memories. It is a 112 year old and originally a carriage house for passing travelers who wished to rest themselves and their horses on their journey.
Originally owned by Darwin's Aunt, Anne Kennedy, this property has been passed down to the Pagett family. Now we enjoy the same leisure and decided to share our experience with others. Also, it offers a location which is ideal to those seeking leisure time. Not only is it a short and pleasant walk to the seashore (0.3 miles to the pier) it also offers access to many local restaurants that myself and my family have frequented for all of our lives. We chose not to sell this property because it holds a very dear place in our hearts and I know it will have the same affect on all who choose to vacation there.
We always appreciate and listen to our guests input...So this is why we have added the deck built and designed by my husband and I.
