Our original AMI home is much easier to navigate than new-build 3-story homes on Anna Maria Island because our first floor is on the ground level and the second floor is one easy set of stairs. Other rebuilt homes on the island usually require climbing multiple flights of stairs up or taking small elevators.
Florida's best-kept secret, Anna Maria Island (AMI), features beautiful white sugar sand beaches, older Florida charm, award-winning restaurants, and shopping all within easy walking distance or a ride aboard the free "Anna Maria Island Trolley". One of the few places in the world where the sunset is regularly applauded, this tiny slice of paradise stretches for 7 miles into the Gulf. Just across the Cortez bridge on the south side of the island, is the old school Florida fishing village of Cortez, where restaurants have excellent seafood and some have live music.

This was our second time staying at this place. The location and the pool are the best thing about this place. Also, there are so many extras there as well like kayaks, paddle boards, nice beach chairs, umbrellas and lots of toys for the kids. Will definitely come again.

Cortez Beach with Pool
This location was wonderful. Cortez Beach was across the street and the pool and hot tub provided the additional fun to the location. The owner provides all the water toys and even camp chairs to use at the beach. Restaurants and historic Bridge Street is approximately 1/4 mile away.

The two bedrooms had very comfy beds. It was nice having his & hers bathrooms so we didn’t have to share! The kitchen was newly updated with nice appliances and well equipped. The cherry on top was the beautiful pool and hot tub! We definitely will be back!

the pool area was awesome. all of the toys-paddle boards kayaks bikes pin pong etc. were awesome. location was great. only downside was interior is dated and they use window mount a/cs to cool the house and they are extremely noisy.

Most folks like white noise while sleeping so very surprised by the 3-star rating when everything else was "awesome" and expectations were set through the listing... Also, I had HVAC folks evaluate central air and they said it was practically impossible to install in our lovely 1950 bungalow. Rex

Our family had a wonderful time at this convenient location! We were able to experience kayaking and stand up paddle boarding at the bay, which are available on the property, and bicycling. The pool was amazing! Walking distance to Bridge Street and to the beach. We will be back!

Great place, great location
The Cortez resort was fantastic! My wife and I really enjoyed the house and the back patio/pool. Kids also loved it, really enjoying the pool. It's a stones throw to the beach and a short walk to Bridge street stores, restaurants, and pier. Rex had his place very clean and offered all essential amenities - cookware, grill, books, internet, and cable tv. We hope to be back!

Location of the property was perfect to accessing the beach. A short walk away and you found yourself with an array of options for dining, shops and restaurants! Lots to do right around the corner. Property is clean. Pool is nice. Recommend for couple. Parking at beach during day is available if you have more than two vehicles. My son and his girlfriend visited the night of his birthday so be sure to use offsite parking if you have more than two vehicles at any point. Unfortunately we had lots of rain but when the sun came out we enjoyed the pool and the grill.

Girls trip
It was as girls trip with friends of 40 years. The place is in a great location to the beach. The pool is great. We are returning in September with one more friend that was unable to go with us. Rex and his wife Michelle are great host. They are making many improvements on the downstairs duplex. We had drain problems one night and they put us up in a condo the owned down the street. We love AMI

We were very happy with our stay here when visiting Anna Maria Island. This property was a very good value. Great location, clean, comfortable bed, amazing pool and the amenities such as the beach chairs and umbrella and bikes were a huge plus.

Absolutely Amazing!!!
Everything was exactly as described! Rex was so easy to work with and very responsive even checking in to make sure we were ok!! Pool area was absolutely stunning and we enjoyed it every evening.
