# K1201 '' Ça y est '' HANDICAP FRIENDLY, ELEVATOR! C'est la maison parfaite pour faire des souvenirs durables. Toutes les générations de la famille apprécieront la commodité de l'ascenseur! La chambre agréable pour les handicapés sera certainement un succès.

Nous avons une vue imprenable sur l'océan depuis notre pont de niveau intermédiaire et nid de corbeaux où vous pourrez vous détendre et regarder la lune et les étoiles au-dessus de l'Atlantique bleu. L'accès direct à la plage est à seulement 75 mètres offrant un accès à de belles plages de sable blanc.

Notre maison est située à proximité de Jockeys Ridge State Park et de tous les grands restaurants, boutiques et sports nautiques que Nags Head a à offrir. À distance de marche du centre commercial Tanger Outlet, de la jetée de Jennette (accessible aux personnes handicapées de la plage) et du parc d'événements! Après une journée pleine de shopping et d'aventures, l'ascenseur sera un bienvenu pour rentrer chez vous!

The house itself was great — plenty of space, comfortable, and in a fantastic location within walking distance to Jennette’s Pier and several restaurants. Lots of room to hang out and relax. That said, I was very disappointed to find that almost no basic amenities were provided. We had to buy our own paper towels, coffee, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper — basically everything. For such a nice place, this should be an easy fix, but it turned into a big inconvenience during our stay.

However- upon arrival the elevator was not working and we had to call maintenance on 2 different occasions about fire alarms in the house beeping and needing batteries replaced. The rental office was quick to respond and solved the issues. The only other complaint we had was the ocean views. Quite different from the photos posted online. Houses have been built since the advertising photos and the ocean view is quite limited. The house faces a Wings retail store and a parking lot.

My husband is in a wheelchair and had no issues getting around. The roll in shower and shower chair were perfect.Overall the house was well maintained. No issues with any of the appliances. Cleanliness was an issue as the floors needed to be vacuumed on the top floor. My son moved the coffee table to get something that fell and it was quite dirty.Our only issue was the fact there was no elevator key as there has been in the past. My husband had to have someone with him so they could go in the house to send the elevator. I did contact the rental company about the key; she didn’t know what I was talking about. She said someone would call me back but nobody ever did. While the lack of a key was inconvenient, it would not deter me from renting again.

Reviewer Comments: The house was dirty, we found more as the week went on, no we didn’t call about it because it was incremental until we left. I got a nail in my foot the first night on the deck. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes. The floors were really sandy and there was not a usable vacuum in the house as well. We have loved the location, but for the price it’s a disappointment, it was definitely not worth the price when other comparable homes are much less and clean. We also did not like the fact when we reserved for this year last year, the price drastically increased without any notice or communication.

The accessibility is the reason we come to outer banks. Only minor complaint that we have is that the mattresses need updating as well as the couches. The house has been updated frequently over the 9 years that we have been renting, (floors, kitchen etc). Overall, an incredible place to stay especially if you have someone in your family that is wheelchair dependent. Also, the crows nest is amazing.

Two week vacation with children and grandchildren joining us.

Excellent house, very clean, elevator came in handy bringing food and things up to top level. Living room, kitchen, sitting room is even better than the photos showed. Central location in Nags Head. Located between major Rte 158 and Rte. 12 but most of excessive road noise from Rte 158 was blocked by a big water tank next to property. No road noise inside house with AC on. House is basically well equipped but recommend the laundry add-on for sheets, towels, etc. No propane grill - charcoal grill only, but we learned again how to use it and it was quite effective and the results more tasty than propane.

It is well appointed and has quality kitchen appliances. Initially, we couldn't get the elevator to work, but the service staff was great! Very proactive and actually arranged for the owner to walk me through getting it to work. She was super friendly & helpful! You may want to check out the rooftop deck railing. It appears to be sturdy, but is aging & some corner reinforcement may be appropriate.

Enjoyed "This Is It"

THIS IS IT...What a wonderful way to spend our vacation viewing the sunset on the very top of what i referred to as the eagles nest! The house inside was delightfully decorated and very comfortable that gave a feeling of home away from home. Best about this was the elevator (no lugging luggage up the stairs. A great feature!) Beach and shopping is very accessible. Resturants close by. This beach home is highly recommended...except for the fact there is no gas grill...id say this home is a great vacation get away.

The streets had crosswalks, so safe to cross with children. We loved hanging out on the various decks or in the spacious living room. We enjoyed family meals at the table before walking back to the beach. Half of our group enjoyed the firm mattresses. We would love to stay here again!

Reviewer Comments: We've been coming to the Outer Banks for 25+ years.We have family members with changing needs and houses that supply accessibility are very hard to find. This Is It is one of the few truly handicap accessible homes that is affordable and the right felt like home.The location was ideal.We had a beach wheelchair that we could push across the street to the access or down to the was fresh, well appointed and comfortable.A short drive to anywhere.We'll definitely be back!

family stay

I will start with we have a great small family get together at this location. My grandmother is completely wheel chair bound and finding a place is never easy. The handicap access to the beach was great. The elevator was spacious , and the bathroom was perfect for a person in a wheelchair full time. We would suggest the handicap room remove the footboard for the bed in that bedroom giving about another foot of access for a wheelchair. But she had limited access on the second floor to just her room and could not go to other rooms or the deck on that floor. Upstairs was plenty of room for everyone to gather around and spend time talking. I would recommend removing some of the decor on the table tops as it creates a lot of clutter when you are have 8 people in a house with all of their accessories. This house does not sleep 8! Do not plan on having private space for 8 people. There are 3 bedroom that sleep 6 (2 couples and 2 kids) the sleeping space for person 7&8 is a pull out sofa in the living room area. This means that the people sleeping there can not go to bed till the last person goes downstairs for the night and wakes up when the first person comes upstairs in the morning. We moved the Sofa into the Sunroom so that there was some space for the bed to be pulled out every night without having to move the coffee table and rug every night and morning. This also gave my grandmother space to move around the livingroom and sunroom with her wheelchair. There was sand everywhere on our first day. I am going to say the cleaning service did a lip service. There was sand in all the seats, on the table tops and kitchen counters. We swept up 2 large piles of sand our first night before we unpacked anything. We will go back? Maybe... but not without looking at other handicap friendly places first.
