First OBX Trip

This was our first time visiting the Outer Banks and it was very enjoyable! The home fit us very well and was in a perfect location to local shops. Being that close to the ocean was amazing and we enjoyed sleeping to the sounds of the waves! We will definitely be visiting again!

Beautiful gem

The ocean view is as expansive as you can get without being ocean-front. The location between the fishing pier and Jannette's pier is perfect. The house is quaint and everything our family of 6 needed. Very clean, bright, and comfortable. The bedrooms are small, but we loved the simplicity of it as we didn't come to the beach to be in our bedrooms. We'd love to return again.

Fun to walk down to Fish Heads for dinner. While the windows all have blinds, the bedrooms would benefit from some curtains to help block out early morning sun.

The home was bright and cheerful. Plenty of room for the 4 of us in the common area. My only complaint is that the mattresses were very uncomfortable.

We liked that there was plenty of space for our large family to relax with each other and we loved the location being on the beach. The bedspreads were dirty, so I’d bring your own blankets if possible. Also, the house does not have good sound barriers, , so if anyone is upstairs in the kitchen/dining and living area, you’ll likely wake the people sleeping below. But overall we enjoyed this house very much.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of this house is wonderful, with a nice ocean view although 1 row back. The house was very clean and nicely decorated. Full kitchen, great appliances. The outdoor deck furniture was very comfortable and the best of any OBX rental we've had in recent years. Only reason our rating is 4 and not a 5 is because none of the outside lights were working; a safety hazard (perhaps because Tropical Storm Ophelia knocked them out?), the queen bed mattresses were not the most comfortable, and the dune walkway was full of sand and unwalkable (again likely due to Ophelia - but no one showed up to get the huge sand drift off of it). Would definitely rent again, if the mattresses were replaced!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location for families with small kids. Very close, easy walk to/from the beach. This is our family's second year in the house. It was nice to see the deck was replaced. We did have concerns over cleanliness this year. Ants were on the kitchen counter upon arrival, the cabinets were splattered with coffee which made us think they had not been wiped down, and sheets were left in one of the bedrooms from the previous renters. We will likely not return again next year since cleanliness wasn't maintained between renters.

Ours husband's loved the fact that they could see the fishing pier from the deck, since we love fishing. Kitchen was roomy enough that you weren't bumping into each when preparing dinner. My husband said this was the best house he has ever slept in on vacation and the teens said the sofa bed wasn't bad either.I was pleasantly surprised when we discovered the air fryer!!! This was our third year and the location of the house was close to the outlets, mini golf and the grocery store was 10 minutes away. We were also able to make a day trip to Cape Hatteras to explore,only 40 minutes away. There was a headboat at Oregon Inlet for a twilight fishing trip only 10 minutes away. The I have already sent recommendations to 2 family members for this house. Thank you for a perfect week.

We have made friends the permanent residents and it feels like home. The house is equipped with everything we need. The beach is never crowded where we are and somehow the weather always seems to be great. My only suggestion is the stairs to access the beach are in desperate need of repair. The wood is so worn and warped. There are boards sticking out on the steps as well as nails and the railing on one side is very loose. We love this place and already reserved our 2017 beach week. ??

It was perfect for our family of four and close enough to the beach for us to make quick trips back to the house for nap time, potty breaks, and lunch! We loved the view from the deck and living space! Was a really open an bright feel and with kids running around it was great! We also loved the parking, outside shower and access to laundry. The house had everything we needed and now I know better for next time I don't have to pack as much as I thought I did. It was a great location, quiet but close to all the fun! Booking was smooth and checking out was easy too! I would recommend this place to anyone!

This was also our first trip to Nags Head. We were very pleased with our trip. The house was clean, well decorated, comfortable and the kitchen had absolutely everything we needed to prepare our meals. The access to the beach was fantastic. My in-laws came with us and close access to the beach was a must. Pretty sure we'll be back!

A hidden deal.

Reviewer Comments: This house is in a small four-house development with a large common driveway, and shared wooden stairs and walkway to the beach over the dunes. (The houses have two spaces of parking under the houses, and roughly two spaces uncovered next to each house.) The houses all look very, very similar. This is one of the two houses that are not ocean front. But you can see a decent amount of ocean from the deck. You cannot see your stuff or people on the beach. That didn't matter to me.The house itself is fine. I think of it as three stories. The ground level has parking, a charcoal grill, an outdoor shower, a hose, and indoor laundry (washer and dryer in tiny wooden room). The middle level has four bedrooms and one full bathroom. The third level has a kitchen with an open concept dining area and L-shaped sofa, which looked like it could pull out into a bed, although we didn't use it for that or confirm that it had that function. The upper level also has a full bathroom, but it is right by the kitchen and offers very little privacy.The deck is a little wobbly and could probably use some maintenance.We were lucky to get along with the guests of the other three houses. You'll likely see a lot of them since all four houses are so close together and share the beach access. The private beach access allowed for decent spacing on the beach. There was a lifeguard on duty while we were there. There's a restaurant on a pier within easy walking distance (Fish Heads Bar & Grill). We had a group of 5 adults and 5 kids and fit nicely. I wouldn't try any more than that.The ocean was refreshing. Only one day would I say it was very cold. There are jellyfish and other critters, but that's to be expected. 5 stars on every category except cleanliness. The cleaning crew missed the lower bathroom, which had sand behind the door and in the shower, along with someone's old bar of soap.In sum, great value for

A nice sandbar comes out midday. Walking distance to fishing pier and Fish Heads restaurant. Laundry on site was convenient. I wish there was a drying rack or hooks outdoors to hang wet suits and towels. Overall, amazing stay. Looking forward to coming back next year.
