We are planning to get new fridge and dishwasher this summer season. We would also like to repaint the entire main level, and get new couches and living room furniture. Yes, the hot tub was not working at that time. This was very sudden problem and unexpected. As you know, the tub could not be fixed on the fly as parts needed to be ordered. That being said, the parts were quite expensive so instead of fixing the tub we purchased and installed a brand new hot tub and got rid of the older one. We are constantly making improvements to the property. The hot tub is working fine now so you would be very pleased if you visit us again. My deepest apologies about the tub not working during your visit but these things do happen from time to time and they cannot be controlled. As was mentioned we credited you in full for the tub fee and hope to see you again soon in the mountains.

Thank you for your comments about our treehouse. The hot tub is cleaned and serviced prior to guests' arrival (if they've opted to use the hot tub; it is optional, at the time of booking). The fee is used to pay for these services and in turn, is not able to be refunded. Occasionally in the mountains, a field mouse might find a way into the house. Rest assured that this has been dealt with and our guests should not experience this issue. We encourage our guests to let us know if they have any repair or maintenance concerns so we can deal with them quickly.

Kevin, your review is so kind and generous. We are so thrilled that the house has left you with long lasting memories. We too love the views and we can never get enough of them. We are particularly glad she said "yes"! That may be a first to happen at the house and this sets a great tone for years to come. We are happy you enjoyed the holidays at the "tree house". This guest sent us an e-mail the afternoon before she checked out. This was the first time we had heard from her, while she was here. Yes, she noted she was having several issues in her e-mail. When the e-mail was received, the morning of her departure, we responded. We wished she had reached out when she checked-in, by phone (office line or emergency line) or e-mail, as both are provided to guests. We could have helped her with many of the problems she was experiencing. Some of the problems could have been quickly resolved with a conversation, as they were not “issues” at all. Our other options would have included sending a handyman over, or our housekeeper, had we been given the opportunity. We apologized to the guest for her experience, as this is certainly NOT the norm for guests who stay at this property. Due to the experience this guest had while she was here, we refunded her the hot tub fee (the jets are working, FYI - we could have walked her through how to operate them properly). She sent some photos of debris in a kitchen drawer and some dirty pans. Cleanliness is of course a valid concern and again, we wish we would have been given the opportunity to address it. We were not given the opportunity, so the cleaning fee was also refunded to the guest. We had a repeat guest arrive at the property the very same day this guest departed. There were no reports of a non working fridge, shower, bath, hot tub, etc. This guest was extremely rude and dismissive on the phone (she called the office, as she was driving home on her departure day). She was not interested in anything we had to say or offer. We agree, this guest would be better suited at a hotel. We would not offer her accommodations with us again. The guest also filed a formal complaint with VRBO, which was closed, after we were given the chance to tell our side of the story.
