Very cozy cabin. We stayed a week and will definitely come back. Little restaurant at the bottom of the hill was nice. We pretty much saw everything to see plus more.
We came up from Charleston to get away for the weekend. Really enjoyed the size and remoteness of the cabin and the readiness of the fire pit and grill. The firewood for sale just up the hill was really nice too.
Loved the location in a more secluded area, though close to many outdoor activities and popular hiking paths. Absolutely cozy cabin with a fire pit outside that we used often during our stay.
This is a nice little cabin in the hills. Beautiful location. Just right for the two of us. It was nice and clean. Close to the places we wanted to visit. A great getaway location.
If you're headed to the Spruce Knob area, this cabin is right on the forest road that leads in there. Pretty easy check in, fairly cozy, the cabin is RIGHT by the road so be aware. Great place.
Stayed in this cute and clean cabin so we could explore the area around it. The cabin was awesome and everything we needed was there. We saw Spruce Knob, went on the hunt for a close up view of the wind turbines, saw Seneca Falls and found all sorts of things to photograph in the beautiful countryside. This cabin and area are awesome!
Primo location to Spruce Knob. We're already planning on our next visit! As a WV native, this is the most beautiful place in our wonderful state! The cabin was clean and very well stocked. Great experience! Thank you Kent and Marissa!â€
Cabin is perfect for exploring this area of West Virginia. We took a short drive over to Seneca Rocks and hiked the Seneca Rocks trail. Fabulous views along the trail and great viewing platform at the end. Luckily, the fog lifted the next day and we were able to go to both Spruce Knob Lake and the Whispering Spruce Trail that circles the knob. Views were absolutely breathtaking and some of the best we have seen in our travels around the country.
We really enjoyed our stay, made us feel like we can do comfortably with so much less at home- bc it was perfect. We shared the bed rather than use the pull out couch. We should have planned ahead better for hot plate, microwave meals- or they have an outdoor charcoal grill, but we had rain every day. We really loved staying there.
If you're looking for the perfect cabin with that West Virginia vibe stop scrolling. This is it. Let's start with the important stuff. The place was super clean. It has everything you need. Plenty of linens, towels, cooking equipment. The location is on a road but we're not talking the autobahn. It's a mountain road with occasional vehicles driving by. Does not distract from your experience. Perfect base camp for hiking the many parks in the area.
Attractive, very small cabin appropriate for two people. Clean, with amenities as promised. Our only negative thoughts were regarding the lack of directions. We were advised that there was no cell/gps service in the area, so a street address was given to us that we might plan how to get there in advance. The address was no help in locating the cabin. Nowhere on the listing was it mentioned that the cabin was part of the Spruce Mountain Rentals, only that it was in the Spruce Knob-Senaca Rocks National Recreation Area. The day before we left, I asked for the lockbox number, and whether the house number was posted on the road where we could see it, since the cabin seemed to be up on the mountainside. The answer simply came back Cabin #3. It would have been helpful to have a mention of Spruce Mountain Rentals or a photo of the sign sporting that name with #3. We did see that sign as we passed, but didn't know it was the cabin we were looking for, there could be several rental companies in the area...we were also looking for the street address. Even a mention of the distance from the main highway, Rte 33, to the cabin would have been helpful.
Small Cabin with just the essentials. Located on the forest road up to spruce knob which is worth the drive prior to sunset.
Clean place. Nice local diner reaturant down the hill.
West Virginia resident since 1986. We love living in the mountains of WV and working together as a family to make a living. You, our guests, help make this possible! We know from experience that a periodical break from everyday living is a necessity. We bought this land in 2004 and decided to use our construction experience to build inviting cabins for you to stay in. We find fulfillment is providing you with a place to get away in nature so you can recharge your batteries.
Why this property? Nestled in the woods at the base of Spruce Mountain, itâs the perfect home base for all your mountain adventures! You can find tons of fun things to a short distance away from the cabin. Then you can come âhomeâ to a comfortable place to relax and be immersed in nature!
