Welcome to Drift Away Cottage, Managed by Emmons Realty

Overview:
Drift Away Cottage is a beautifully remodeled and newly decorated beach cottage. This home was a 5 star vacation rental when we purchased it in January 2021. We have made a LOT of improvements to this home, so our goal is for guests to love our home even more.

Location:
Located in a charming neighborhood, the cottage is conveniently central, just 1.7 miles from a public beach with parking and restrooms. Nearby is Southern Soul BBQ, a popular spot featured on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives."

Cottage Features and Amenities:
The cottage offers a separate den and living room, a large laundry room, and a screened porch. There is a dining room that seats six and a large kitchen with new appliances and a breakfast bar. The outdoor space includes a private fenced yard with a covered pergola, firepit, and Adirondack chairs. The cottage is a single-story building for easy access. It is equipped with a HALO-LED™ air purification system. This system treats every cubic inch of air conditioned space, reducing airborne and surface microbials, bacteria, viruses, mold, odors, VOCs, allergens, dust, and particulate matter.

The home includes Wireless internet. Please note the outdoor cameras at the entrances. This is a non-smoking or vaping home. Additionally, emotional support animals are also not permitted

Local Activities:
Guests can enjoy various activities like beach visits, kayaking, biking, and golfing, as well as shopping and dining at local restaurants and exploring the beautiful neighborhood. Please don't hesitate to contact us for recommendations for any or all of these.

Every one of our properties is furnished with a “starter kit” of supplies so that you don't have to run to the store at the start of your vacation.

Deposit Policy:
$500 will be charged to your card at the time of reservation, a deposit which will be applied directly to your rental cost. The remainder will be charged automatically, 30 days prior to your arrival. If you’ve contacted us through VRBO or Airbnb, you will be responsible for their additional fees. Our online calendar is updated automatically, and all quotes are accurate and include all fees.

perfect place!

The cottage was spotless!It had tasteful ocean furnishing, plenty of everything and large airy property. The beds were soooo comfy too. Cannot find any fault at all. Definitely a place if you want a stress free vacay!

Comfortable accommodations; quiet and private location

Property was exactly as advertised. Very comfortable with many usable spaces for parents and two teenagers. Communication from property manager was frequent and helpful. Property manager was readily available and responsive by text. Provided references on bike and tent rentals and providers who were outstanding

Good stay

Was a good place to stay but the hard wood floors need to be washed. When we were walking around the house the bottom of our feet and socks got dirty. Other than that the house was very clean and well maintained.

The property was overall very clean, location was great. The notes around the home were quite annoying, as if the people staying there don't know common sense. I understand notes here and there, just not in excess like this.

Comfortable, Clean, and Beautiful!

We loved this house! It lived up to all the expectations we had from the photos in the listing. It was very clean and organized and had everything we needed for our three-night stay. The check-in and check-out processes were simple, the beds were comfortable, and the common spaces were relaxing. The location was excellent; nothing on the island seemed to far away, and we were within walking distance to several shops and restaurants. The neighborhood was quiet and seemed safe. There is an airport quite nearby, so we did see and hear a few small jets fly overhead a couple times, but it was not often and was not intrusive. We would definitely stay here again!

Weekend getaway

The property was very nice and clean (although we did kill some large bugs inside).The neighborhood was nice and quite. Also I didn't realize there were NO tv's in any bedrooms. The property had a RIDICULOUS amount of notes all throughout the house. I probably will not be using this rental again.

Stunning cottage! Phenomenal Stay!

The second walking into 'drift away', no matter where one may be coming from, it not only is "picture accurate", but exceeds- in all the beautiful decorated interiors, the time and thought clearly spent by owners etc w/details of EVERYTHING and ALL things in AMAZING perfectly working condition, PRISTINE...AND comfortable and great layout. Much deserved accolades beyond any expectation, which is coming from avid vacation home renters, for many years, all over the U.S. and World. We will be back, as it also was a perfect location for anyone visiting SSI, but for us, a very easy few streets from a nice visit to see my mom and dad who are retired on the island and, gives us great reason to defi Italy come back, and hope to be able to rent Drift Away in the future. Great Short Getaway Trip

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home was such a great find in a quaint neighborhood on SSI for our first trip to SSI. The home was very comfortable, clean, and well appointed. The decor was fresh and just the right amount of "beachy/artsy". Our visit was too short to use the firepit and grill space, but it was a fabulous addition to the home with a private fenced backyard. The little screened porch was a favorite spot for coffee and reading/studying. The owners truly thought of everything for a comfortable stay. The distance to the beach was a short drive. We visited both East Beach and Gould's Inlet. Both were very crowded over Memorial Day weekend....not sure if this is the norm for all summer? It was a short walk through the neighborhood to Redfern Village for doughnuts, coffee, and yogurt. We enjoyed our stay and short venture around the island and hope to return to SSI again!

Check in

The only hiccup in my check in process was I did not receive a code before arriving to the house. I spoke with an after hours call center and they remotely unlocked the door for me. She informed me that someone would call me within the hour with my code. I did not receive that call. I attempted to call the after hours center again with no response. I began to text the after hours. Shortly after I received a call from Kathleen. She had some issues with her phone. She was super accommodating and helpful with me getting a code. Soon after that I received a text from Bryan, the manager. He was great and helpful with assisting me also. For the inconvenience, he delivered a gift card to the residence. I was on St Simmons for a law enforcement conference. My last class was on Wednesday from 8:30 until 10:30. I knew checkout was at 10:00 and I knew I would not make it back in time for check out, I spoke with Kathleen about the issue and she accommodated me with an extra hour. Everything with the house and management was great....will definitely rebook with them.

This was a last minute trip. We tried to contact owner to check in the following day, but no response. Had to stay at King and Prince and book two days out. Trip Advisor not set up for next day check ins apparently.

Perfection

We will rent here again. This house was super clean and beautiful inside & out. We loved grilling and sitting under the lighted outside area. We spent a good amount of time outside sitting, reading and in fellowship. It is walking distance from everything - food, shops, groceries. The pictures on VRBO are great, but it is better when you actually see it. Perfection! One of our best vacations.
