Bear Country Cabins Retreat is a private group compound made up of 15 cabins and 1 Main Lodge, all reserved exclusively for your group! Set on 2 acres, this property is designed specifically for large gatherings that want space, privacy, and shared amenities—without sacrificing comfort. Guests will enjoy a hot tub, BBQ area, game room, & fire pit - this retreat is ideal for family reunions, business retreats, and group trips!

~ The Lodge is the main home, acting as the central gathering space for the property and features:
- A large communal area for meals and group time
- Fully equipped kitchen
- Game room for all ages
- Comfortable seating for relaxing, dining, or meetings

Please note that Bear Country Cabins Retreat has different sleeping capacities depending on the season.

☀️ May–October: All 15 cabins + the Main Lodge are available, accommodating up to 70 guests.

❄️ October–May: Five of the cabins are seasonally closed and unavailable to guests. During this time, your group will have access to 10 cabins + the Main Lodge, accommodating up to 50 guests.

The retreat is still reserved exclusively for your group during winter stays—you will not share the property or available amenities with other guests.

We have a very large family, with lots of children. This property was great for us. The individual cabins meant that each family was able to have private space to manage nap schedules and take breaks. The green space was the site of many games of capture the flag or tag. The central "lodge" provided good gathering space for the full group. Since we do most of our own cooking, we appreciated the large double refrigerators. The kitchen was well-equipped. The property is not perfect--there are small things that could be fixed. However, when we did have issues, the property management team was prompt in their response. In fact, communication was a highlight, and the team did appear focused on making sure that our stay was comfortable. Unlike some properties, there was an adequate supply of basics like toilet paper and paper towels (not a "starter pack"--enough to get us through the week-long stay). The property served as a good "home base for lots of lake time and exploring in the surrounding mountain canyons. The location of the property allowed for lots of walks through quiet neighborhoods. So, if you have a large group--we would strongly recommend a stay!

Bear Lake Country Cabins was a great place for our family reunion of about 40 people! The kitchen was incredibly well stocked with high quality dishes, pans, serving and eating utensils and even 2 crockpots. Two refrigerators and 2 washers and dryers as well. Large central picnic table and 2 side tables in the main room made it possible to feed everyone at once. The manager was extremely responsive to questions and always texted right back immediately. Check in and out were super easy. The only complaints/suggestions I heard were: 1. The cabins needed more places to hang up clothes--perhaps some hooks, and/or more hangers. 2. Potential renters need to be aware that in all the rooms with queen bed bunk, the queen beds are set right on the floor. A little bit hard to get in and out of for older or pregnant occupants. Other than that we LOVED our time there!

We loved having the separate cabins so each family had their own space, but loved the gathering space as well. The remodel is very nice.

We used this for a company retreat and it worked great. Everything was easy with check-in and the place was spotless and exactly as described. No compliments. I would stay here again.

Perfect for big families!

Close to the beach. So nice for every family to have their own space to go to, but also having large gathering spaces for everyone to eat and spend time together. Close to North Beach when playing at the lake and the property is also across from fields/park to play sports together. We want to go back!

Wonderful for a large group

It’s hard to keep 50+ people happy when choosing accommodations but this place made it easy. How can you go wrong with everyone having their own bathroom?! Families loved the private and shared spaces. There was plenty of everything to accommodate us…towels, chairs, blankets, kitchen supplies, etc. We would love to stay here again.

We enjoyed having a family get together where all had their own space. The big house had everything we needed for serving and cooking meals. There was ample room to gather. The teenagers enjoyed the game room and hot tub. We brought yard games with us and had plenty of room to play them. When we had a question or needed something they were quick to respond.

Great place for a big group

All the cabins were clean and fully stocked with coffee pots, fridge, microwave, TV, blankets, pillows, and so much more! The beds were comfy and the cabins were so welcoming. The kitchen was fully stocked with all our groups of 20 needed. It fit all of us perfectly. To top it off the support team was very responsive and friendly. Thank you to all that made our stay wonderful

We had an excellent stay, there was several things to be aware of when you book. The furnace in the cabins didn't work and had a hard time maintaining heat.The wifi is extremely spotty and can't maintain more then 2 devices on it at a time. Bring blankets if you are visiting in the early part of the year. Also, pay attention to the pictures. Almost all the cabin beds are on the floor. Second, the main cabin doesn't have a vint or range for the stove top, if you cook anything you need to open the windows or door. The humidity in the main cabin is so high that windows fog causing mold. Three of the cabin doors didn't latch so bring some tools. But all said and done, it was spacious, there was room for everyone. It is kid friendly, (minus the stairs) it had play pens that came in extremely handy. It fit our needs.

We stayed in Saint Charles, Idaho with a group of 45 (30 adults, 10 kids, 5 babies) and had a wonderful time celebrating the holidays, even without snow. The main cabin and surrounding cabins were clean, cozy, and warm. The long dining table was perfect for shared meals, games, and crafts — we brought a Christmas tree and made ornaments and snowflakes, which made it extra special.The kitchen was well stocked, and having two large fridges helped a lot with meals. We appreciated mini fridges, coffee makers, Pack & Plays, and TVs in each cabin, which made things easier for families. We enjoyed the game room, fire pit, nearby basketball court, and exploring in a side-by-side during “mud season.” The mountain and lake views were lovely.The Wi-Fi worked well after some initial troubleshooting, and we were able to stream football — including an epic Chicago Bears win! The managers were responsive and helpful whenever we had questions.A couple notes: the area is remote and rustic, so plan ahead. A few extra blankets would help on cold nights, and taller guests may prefer beds in the main cabin. We noticed dog droppings and a loose dog around the yard, which was tricky with lots of kids and trips between cabins.Overall, a great place to gather and make memories — we’d love to return in true winter or summer!Thanks to the management team being so responsive to any questions or concerns.
