As you pull into the driveway you'll be taken away with the serenity and peace and quiet. Don't be surprised if you see a few deer. As the cabin comes into sight so does the breathtaking view of Big Manistique Lake. Chances are before entering the cabin you'll be drawn to the lakeside. Pull a chair up to the fire pit and let the roasting of s'mores begin! Pour a glass of wine and relax watching the ducks, geese and loons from the screened in porch. Or just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. Curl up on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee and watch your favorite show on ROKU. Sit on the dock and cast a fishing pole. Or enjoy ice fishing. Feel adventurous? Snowmobile and Side x side trails are within 2 miles.
Go sight seeing! Just 15 minutes from Benny the bearded Troll or Seney Wildlife Refuge. Like golf? JP memorial golf and Pizza is within 10 minutes . Their Pizza is unbelievable! They even have disc golf!
End of the Road Winery is only 5 minutes away! And for your sweet tooth there's Goodales Sweet Shop! Or Moose De Nord for unbelievable ice cream!
Looking to throw back a few or just have a great burger? Kim's Talley Ho in Curtis or The Shipwreck are 5 minutes away.

Don't forget to visit the Garland Zoo or Oswald Bear Ranch! Grand Marais is only 40 minutes away! Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon Falls, Mackinac Island.
You definitely won't get bored with so many things to see and visit.

If you happen to be visiting for snowmobile season, you can access the trails from the lake or road. Maps are available at local businesses. As a reminder though, we are not responsible for the trails and roads. please rate our Lakehouse for the lakehouse not for the upkeep of trails in the area. We have no control over that or mother nature.

Anniversary Trip

We loved our time at this property. The only complaint is how small the shower is (I'm a big guy, 6'4"-300 lbs) and showering was a chore. But given the size of the property there is no way to change it. We would happily stay again.

Beautiful getaway!

This place was such a treat! It was a chilly and rainy June weekend, but we still enjoyed sitting at the lake or on the screened porch watching the ducks on the lake. Likely because of the weather, the cabins on either side of us were empty and the quiet was priceless. The long windy driveway opens to a great spot to unload our side by side and park. Curtis is a short distance away and have the friendliest people. We highly recommend this place.

Great Family Vacation Getaway

The Lakehouse Dream was a fantastic place for our weeklong family vacation. It starts with the fantastic lake views from the main living area, which extends to a large screen porch. We enjoyed the campfire pit by the lake for smores and enjoying the cool nights. There is a nice deck by the dock for enjoying the lake views with a cup of coffee in the morning. The kitchen is stocked with everything needed and a grill on the deck to provide for all the essentials. We rented a pontoon from Curtis Adventures (highly recommended!) and they dropped it off on the docks nearby for a fun day exploring the lake. The central location worked very well for exploring both the Pictured Rocks lakeshore to Tahquamenon Falls and the Oswald bear ranch. Great times and we hope to return again!

Snowmobiling fail

First of all, the cabin is great, but we planned this stay to snowmobile from the property but the location and logistics just didn't work for us. We have a 27' snowmobile trailer that barely fit down the windy drive and when it came to turning it around, it was all but impossible. Snowmobiling from the cabin is very difficult unless you don't care about your equipment, or have good knowledge of the lake. Schoolcraft County is NOT snowmobile friendly and not only plows H-42 to dirt daily, but also plows the county roads the designated snowmobile trails follow that must be used in order to reach the trails.

The Aurora at the Lakehouse Dream

The Lakehouse Dream is an adorable cottage style home on one of the three inland lakes in Curtis Michigan. It has an open concept, two bedrooms, and a sleeping loft. It also has a great attached screened in porch. It was a bit chilly for us, so we didn't use it, but it would be perfect for summer. This is the most well-equipped VRBO I have ever rented-- which made it so easy to sink into our weekend getaway. Linens were soft, plenty of blankets available to snuggle into, and every kitchen amenity you need is available here. It was also absolutely quiet here as well, nothing but bird song and wind through the pines to be heard here. The biggest treat for us? Stepping outside (literally, step out and look up) to greet the Northern Lights. It was absolutely incredible. Curtis is a great central locale for a lot of attractions in the Eastern UP. After our days of walking the trails at Taquamenon and agate hunting at White Fish Point, Lakehouse Dream was a great place to come home to. Considering a trip with a comfy home-base in the UP? Look no further...

It was absolutely amazing! Cabin was beautiful, lake was beautiful, communication with Kim was the best and answered any of our questions we had. I love how she had a list of all the close places and sites to see. Curtis is a cute little town and very friendly. The store was the cutest little grocery store we’ve ever been in. 10/10 recommend and will definitely stay again in the future!

The cabin was nice, but the bathroom had a very distinct urine smell, and being so small it was a bit unpleasant. Everything else worked out nicely though. We had a very nice family vacation.

I still consider this a 5 star stay but there are some things I think would be helpful for future guests. 1) There is no place to put anything. No dressers, nor usable closets, no space in the bathroom for anything. You will live out of your suitcase and because there is no room for that either, you will have to get everything put away each time you use it. 2) similar to the above, because the kitchen is well stocked with basic essentials, there is nowhere to put food away. We stayed a full week and either had to store things in the fridge (which is large and very clean) or on the counter. So we had no counter space to work with all week.3) it was very hard to find the property. Our GPS apps did not understand where this was. What would have been very helpful to know is that they have a Totem pole (best description I can offer) at the end of the driveway so look for that. 4) The shower is small. I’m talking tiny. You can’t put your hands over your head or turn around in this thing. Ladies if you want to shave your legs on vacation, think again!Other than those things, this is a nice little cabin. It’s just small so be prepared. Staying a week with 3 adults and a 12 year old was tough. But it’s very clean, well stocked with basics. The porch is lovely, as is the dock. The host was very responsive and the area is quiet but not too isolated.

The cabin was ready for an early check in if we wanted. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals and we loved the beautifulcrafted table. The screened in room was very nice. The beds were comfortable. The house, deck, and dock areas were all nice. We would recommend staying if coming to the area. We visited Tahquamenon Falls, Oswalds Bear Ranch and Benny the Beard Fisher Troll while in the area.

Excellent Stay

Great place! Had everything we needed for a great vacation. Host was wonderful with communication and even recommended a charter for us for catching the big ones! Was quite and peaceful with nature all around.
