Staying here offers glorious sunrises over Kachemak Bay with a surprising amount of privacy for only being 5 minutes from the Homer Spit. Spend the evening with a fire as you gaze across at Grewingk Glacier or take a stroll on the beach below the bluff. Although the beach has limited access, and would prove difficult for some, the beach does offer fossils and a adventurous little hike. There is a separate cabin that is rented on the property. Please inquire if youâd like to rent both.
Our stay was a 10/10 and we wish we could have stayed longer! The house was spotless, beds comfortable, kitchen well equipped, amazing views and a very prompt and courteous host. It was the perfect location to introduce our out of state family members to the beauty of Homer, Alaska. Everyone was talking about coming back again!
Jordinâs home was incredible for our group. We had 7 adults ranging from 72-27, 2 teens and 2 school aged children. The home fit our group well- with a bed to spare. We utilized the kitchen and large dining roomTable for meals. We even left a few extra oyster shuckers in the drawer(donât forget to buy them fresh on the Homer spit). Jordin has gone out of his way to think of necessities helpful for travel. We did not use; but appreciated the accessibility to a washer and dryer. I really enjoyed that it felt like we were visiting an old friendâs home. The location and views from this property were enough to make us come back alone- but the fact that there were chickens and bunnies hanging out on the property was a delight for all ages. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the flight pattern coming into the Homerâs airport, the wild life, and the ability to enjoy ourselves as a group with plenty of space to spread out. I am a born and raised Alaskan- and I will always try to stay at this property with a group every time we come to Homer.
The property and home were enjoyable. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We wish we couldâve stayed longer.
Some recommendations for the owner would be to put up railings around the part in the living room space where the loft cutout is. We had some small children with us that we had to keep an eye on in case they climbed up there and fell down.
Another would be blinds or curtains for windows in all sleeping areas. Some had them and some didnât. The sun sets late and rises early in summer so it would be nice to have more darkness in the room when sleeping.
Other than that, we would love to return again some day. Owner was really nice and accommodating. Thanks for the fresh chicken eggs!
Breathtaking views! We were blessed with a mama moose and her baby in the yard. Fire pit was nice with wood provided. House was clean and nice. Kitchen was small but well equipped! Large dining table and nice deck!
Downsides: Upstairs noise echoes into downstairs bedrooms and the loft level is open to the kitchen below which disrupted sleep for those staying in those bedrooms. We were a large group that usually did not go to bed at the same time. Also there is no bathroom downstairs where there are 4 beds but it was only half of a flight of stairs up to the bathroom.
Overall we were very pleased and would stay here again! The owner was very friendly and responded quickly to messages. We gave 5 stars all around as the overall stay was great and the downsides mentioned are only meant to be informative and definitely not a deal breaker!
