This is a large lake front home that has two levels. Each level has its own kitchen and living arrangements but connected by the stairs that can be closed off. Sleeps 18 with 3 bedrooms upstairs and 3 bedrooms downstairs. Has 3 living rooms and 3 queen sleeper sofas and a total of 4 bathrooms. has a coffee bar upstairs. Also has two outside seating areas, one being on the upstairs porch for those perfect sunset views of the lake. Has its own private dock, fire pits, and kayaks and 2 grills. If you want to bring your entire family but still have some privacy, this is the spot for you on the beautiful Lake of Egypt. This home has been fully renovated in the fall of 2023 and ready for you to make memories.
18 adults and 1 baby stayed for 4 nights in this very roomy house with perfect access to the lake. Except for the carpeting on the stairs (which needs replaced) the place was very clean. More bath towels during the humid months would be beneficial, but overall we had a great family Christmas in July and would absolutely rent this property again
Stay was great until last 3 days when idiot neighbors moved in and took over everything. Luckily we had other family to visit and did not have to deal with them. This property is great and very roomy!
Although we were a little disappointed with the upkeep of the yard/ landscaping and the cleanliness of certain areas in the house , we all had an amazing time . It was the perfect set up having both the upper & lower units for a large family / friends with both an older and younger age group .
They have definitely fixed it up! Fresh paint and new curtains! We rent the top and bottom and really enjoy this place. Perfect for big family gatherings. They are quick to answer any questions or concerns you might have. They take good care of their guests! Looking forward to our next trip in one of their other properties.
We really enjoyed the location of this house. It is right on the lake, easy to get to. Dock is shared. Only downfall is kitchen is not well equipped. We rented the whole house, ground level and upper level, plenty of room then for all 16 of us. Don't know if I would like having some else staying above though, even though you can lock stairway on both sides. Could be noise factor then of hearing footsteps above you. (As someone else said in review). House is as pictured exactly. Other houses are close by, but lake & dock is great. Went to KOA water park - kids loved it! We rented jet skis the other day. Went to a winery late one afternoon. Adult time away, with older teens babysitting. There is plenty to do in the area. We will be back in the area again, maybe at same house!
We were a large group and the house afforded space for all of us for sleeping and the children to play. There was an issue with the towels and cleanliness of the house. There was also a shortage of sheets for the pullout couches and blankets were not available for warmth
Communication with the host was quick, easy, and they are super friendly. We used both the upstairs and the downstairs unit, and there was plenty of space for our big group of 17âless than 30 minutes from stores and restaurants, and 5 minutes from ice, fishing worms, etc. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of utensils, dishes, and pots/pans, but if you plan on cooking large meals (like for our big group), you'll need to bring your own big pots (or get them from Walmart like we did). We recommend the Lake of Egypt Pontoon Rentals, aka "Weiner Rides," if you want to rent a boat. They were beyond friendly and will deliver and pick up the boat at this location. Last thing we'll say, there is PLENTY of parking. Our group was from 7 different households, and there was enough parking for all seven vehicles, which can be hard to find sometimes. We loved our stay here and will try to get back into this property when we return in a couple of years.
The property was not quite as expected but it did have a lot of room for our extended family. The property manager responded fairly quickly when there were issues that needed addressed.
Big space, deceiving looking at it, but it is very large and plenty of room for all. Weather was great we would come back. Property managers were quick to respond with any questions or concerns.
We had 6 couples and 6 kids stay. Plenty of room for everyone! Had some confusion with the dock situation with some neighbors staying as well but all worked out well. Property manager responded well to a needed propane tank. We hope to come back soon!
Group of us got together for the weekend to just hang out and recharge. Plenty of space for kids, dogs and teens to play and for the adults to have their own space as well. Great yard with grill, firepit and dock. Close to state park and 2 waterfall trails which were family friendly and a great mid-day activity. The management was friendly, easy to reach and quick to respond. Our group will definitely rent there again.
Converted lake house that could use some sound insulation between the 2 levels. As a family we understood the noise. If 2 different clients are staying, they may not be too happy. The cleaning crew needs a boost. For the most part, things were clean, but downstairs , the air return vent was covered in dust and grime. I understand the owners haven't had the property too long and may be working on these issues. Location, view, and scenery to get to the property very nice.
In some ways, it was perfect. The lake setting was beautiful. There were enough beds for everyone and room to spread out. We had time to just chill and hang out with the family with no distractions. All our families were able to drive the same distance to meet up and spend time together. Mission accomplished.
One the other hand, considering we fixed all our meals on site, the kitchen facilities were substandard. This bothered the cooks and our chef son. Next time (if we choose to come back) we will bring our own knives! Dealing with no garbage disposal was a forgotten skill that quickly returned. All families were used to having curbside recycling. (yes, we did improvise to recycle our glass, cans, empty water bottles, cardboard, paper, taking it home.)
The final or first issue we discovered was leaking. There was water dripping from the trim around a bedroom closet. The puddle on the floor was huge taking two big towels to wipe up. We called the property owner, was assured someone would be out Saturday morning then crickets. (understandable as it was a holiday weekend but a call back to say no one was coming would have been nice.) The dripping was intermittent. Also one of the master sinks dripped under the cabinet. Since some one was supposed to come out Saturday we didn't report it until the day after check out. We called our vacation spot the party house since it's obvious no one stays in it long enough to notice and fix the little things.
First of all, I just want to say that the property management company overseeing this property is AMAZING. We had several issues with the homeâs disrepair and lack of cleanliness and Dominic had maintenance out within a couple of hours and the cleaning crew out the next morning. The propertyâ many of the window blinds are either broken or have multiple slats missing. One was in a bedroom that faces the neighboring house. My sister was very uncomfortable knowing that neighbors could look in on her while she changed or slept. Ivan, the maintenance guy that was sent out to repair the blinds, was super friendly and fixed what he could, but several blinds just need to be replaced. The home itself was pretty dirty. There was dried toothpaste in a sink, a used Kleenex on a night stand in one bedroom, bugs and spider webs all over the front porch area, dog hair on the floor, the carpeted stairs going from one level to the next were FILTHY. It looked as if theyâd never been vacuumed or shampooed. The walls had black marks all over them in the stairwell. A drawer in the basement kitchen was broken, and there were cracks in the tiled floor. The sheets in several rooms were not washed There were hairs on a couple and black specks all over one of them. The comforter on my bed was visibly stained in one spot. It was very evident it was a âmale stainâ and even had drip marks. Gross! I looked under the bed and it hadnât been swept in months. Crumbs and dust.
