Colorful/Unique/Insta-worthy 1BD Guesthouse by Downtown San Diego
Welcome to Emerald Guesthouse, built in 2014, located just 4.3 miles from downtown SD and close to many major freeways. This family friendly guesthouse is part of a 2-unit building with its own private entrance, with one bedroom and one bathroom, full kitchen, laundry, 2 rollaway beds with memory foam mattress, provides you with all the amenities you need for a wonderful stay.
The property is in a residential neighborhood. It is located in a very convenient spot near convention center, Gas Lamp district and other areas. Costco is right down the street, I was able to buy groceries to stock the kitchen during my stay. It does take time to get used to the alleyway and gate. Everything about the property was just right when I was on the road for a long period of time. I would stay again.
This is a duplex type addition with shared parking, patio and a few small things. If you are using the place as a launch pad to see San Diego its great. If you are hanging out in the house area i wouldnt recommend
This vacation rental was very clean and tastefully decorated, with everything that we needed. The host is gracious, responsive and thorough. The king bed and the foldout bed were comfortable, with quality beddings. The kitchen was fully stocked. There was a set of full size washer and dryer in the unit. We appreciated the clean and quality kitchenware and small appliances. There was AC in the unit but we did not use it.It is centrally located in San Diego in a safe neighborhood. Heard planes occasionally. Could hear neighbor occasionally during the day but not during quiet hours. We parked inside the gate, in a shared, large backyard, no issues at all. The check-in and check-out were a breeze. The place is a gem; highly recommdned.
The room was very clean and well furnished, and very spacious. The host gave very clear instructions for checking in and getting to the property, which was very helpful and thorough. There were a couple of things that were less comfortable with the stay. Specifically, although there was a working air conditioner, the space is quite large, and the main bedroom is a bit far from the main AC unit. As a result, it took quite a long time for the main bedroom to cool down, especially in summer. There was a portable AC unit in the closet of the main bedroom, but it was not really set up for easy use (it would require opening a window and setting up the hoses, which we did not really have the tools/expertise to do). There was also a small gas leak it seemed, as we could smell a little bit of gas, but only right next to the stove, which never dissipated.Overall, it was a pleasant stay and we recommend this place!
