Amber Lodge is a private East Tennessee retreat with a pool, sauna, firepit & game room—30 min to Knoxville, easy Smokies day trips.
Amber Lodge spreads out across a private, tucked-away lot where the loudest sound is usually the breeze moving through the trees. There's room for everyone to find their own corner, and just as much space to come back together. The main house holds four bedrooms, and out back, a converted smokehouse adds a fifth — an unexpected little hideout with its own bed, a sofa, and a TV for the friend who likes to stay up late or the kid who wants their own clubhouse.
Inside, the main living room opens into two distinct sitting areas anchored by a stone fireplace, so the group can split between a movie and a quieter conversation without anyone feeling crowded. The kitchen is built for real cooking — generous counter space, full-size modern appliances, and a dining table that seats eight, with a breakfast nook nearby for morning coffee and the overflow crowd.
Downstairs, a second living room with its own TV and fireplace gives the group another place to land, and a compact kitchenette keeps snacks and refreshments close so no one has to trek upstairs mid-game. In-unit laundry and WiFi make longer stays simple. And the games are the heart of this place: the converted garage is now a proper rec room with an oversized lounge, a pool table, and a shuffleboard court that tends to start friendly and end competitive — a genuine hit with every age in the group.
When it's time to slow down, the private sauna and a deep jacuzzi soaking tub make easy work of tired legs. Outside, the courtyard is set up for cornhole, the pool — a favorite with past guests — is yours alone, and as the light fades, the firepit on the open lawn becomes the natural spot to gather for the night.
The setting is part of the draw. New Market sits in the rolling foothills of East Tennessee, about half an hour from downtown Knoxville and its walkable Market Square, riverfront paths, and college-town energy. Closer to home, Cherokee Lake and McBee Ferry Landing Park are quick drives for a day on the water, and Panther Creek State Park and Douglas Lake round out the options for hiking and boating. The gateway towns of Sevierville and Pigeon Forge — and the Great Smoky Mountains beyond them — make for a straightforward day trip when you want the full national-park experience, with more than 800 miles of trails, old-growth forest, and a good shot at spotting a black bear.
Come to cook, compete, soak, and slow down. Amber Lodge gives a group the rare mix of plenty of room and plenty to do.
If you love spending time in nature, staying active, and celebrating wildlife, a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains is a must. Located along the Tennessee/North Carolina border and home to the country's most visited national park, the Smokies provide over 800 miles of hiking trails, rivers, and a good chance at a black bear sighting. The ancient mountains invite you to connect with one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world and walk among century-old trees. Talk about a step back in time!
