Location was perfect for our party of six and the proximity to Yosemite Valley. House has its quirks, like most homes do but we had an enjoyable stay. The living room and long dining table was perfect for our group.

The place needs a thorough cleaning and all of the outdoor furniture needs to be replaced. You can’t even sit in several chairs b/c of the holes in the seats. There’s mold in bathroom, towels left in washer, and cobwebs everywhere. The silverware rack literally so many holes, it won’t hold anything. Instead of replacing they put sponges in bottom. Communication with host go unanswered. WiFi information is wrong and works intermittently. Only plus is location but for price, wish we would have rented place next door.

Poor communication from the hosts, lack of cleanliness throughout the property, and the TVs not working made this a disappointing stay for us. Stayed April 13-15th.

Fantastic stay and responsive host

It was our first time staying in Yosemite West and the Subset Retreat was spacious, clean and super convenient to Glacier Point and the Valley. The host was very responsive, kind and accommodating to our requests. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to return next year.

Good clean property. They have allthe utensils, bathroom supplies. Basic supplies like salt and sugar can be made available. Property appeared same as described on the vrbo. Best part, it is inside the Yosemite National Park, once you enter the park, no need to buy entry ticket next day. Highlight - a bear crossed our road while leaving the property at 9am. strongly recommend the property.

My husband and I stayed here for our Yosemite elopement. Overall I would stay here again! We had a few family meals and the space was perfect for hosting. The place wasn’t as clean as I would have liked but you are in the mountains so I still give 4 stars. We accidentally got locked out (so be careful with the locks) and wasn’t able to get in touch with the host and had to climb through the window lol. The view off the back deck is amazing and the property is easy to access (no crazy stairs like some other places in Yosemite west). There are quite a few stairs in the place but it wasn’t too bad. Also there is an extra bedroom that’s not pictured in the listing!

Yosemite Vacation

The location of this property is perfect. Very close to glacier point and easy access to Yosemite Valley. Being able to stay inside the park gates definitely saves time. The only negative about this property is the cleanliness. When we arrived there were dirty towels in the washer. The skillets were coated and had to be soaked and scrubbed before we could cook on them. We still had a very enjoyable vacation, but for the price point I would expect a cleaner property.

Great place inside yosemite. But needs some improvements

The location is really nice ,its inside the valley so you dont need reservations . The house has all the necessities.But the place is not as clean . there were cobwebs inside the house , and the outdoor patio was dirty / not maintained. And the towels smelled weird not sure if they were washed properly ,

Beautiful house

We had a wonderful stay! All 5 stars in each subcategory from our extended family of 11. In addition to all the details in the listing (games, kitchen tools, etc.) it was also a nice surprise to have nice shampoo/ conditioner/ wash provided and wonderful to have more beds than expected (3 BR: 1 queen, 1 queen, 1 full with double twin bunk). The only thing that may be needed would be more sheets if you plan to have anyone sleep on a couch (extra pillows and blankets were provided). Thank you for a wonderful week!

The pictures for this place are completely outdated. The property is extremely worn and filthy. None of the wall heaters can be used. The dishwasher falls out when opened, causing injuries. The refrigerator is taped. The trash cupboard is also broken and won’t go back in. We text the number as instructed for trash service as we were there for 5 nights and no one responded or showed up so the house started to smell. The satellite TV does not work and WiFi information is not correct. The property sheet is extremely outdated and has old owner information on it. We came here for our elopement and hired a private chef who had to bring much of his own stuff because the kitchen is not adequately stocked. The property is also infested with spiders. Not just your typical wood spiders- black widows- which was completely unnerving. We had to drive back down to Oakhurst to buy Home Defense bug spray because they were in the bedding. We tried to move properties but everything was booked due to Memorial Day weekend and Yosemite lifting reservation requirements. We own a rental property that we run through VRBO in Park City and know that this is in no way acceptable. I reached out to the owner and received no response.

Beautiful family Trip

The owner was very communicative which is always important. The house is beautiful in a great area near all major sites. Everything was available to us, such as everything you would need in a kitchen, washer and dryer, etc… the master bedroom very large which includes a bathroom with a huge shower. The set up is very comfortable and we were very pleased. The temperature in Yosemite is very hot this time of year and this location provides air conditioning as many others do not. .

We stayed 4 nights in June ‘26. Pros- Great proximity to Yosemite. Beautiful neighborhood.Cons- Sleeping arrangements had to change after we realized the online description and pictures were not consistent with what was actually in the home. The online description mentioned a study with a pull out couch; no study could be found. The set-up that the home actually had was a master- king, guest rm- king, guest room- 3 full beds. Communication with the host was terrible. It took three messages from me and 14 days for the host to respond to my question that I asked 6 weeks before our stay. Upon arrival, I discovered there were only 8 towels for our 10 guests. I immediately messaged the host through the app and received no reply. The next evening I discovered that clean towels were in the dryer. I attempted to text the local caretaker about picking up trash (as instructed in the home), but my texts would not go through as I only had WiFi with no cell service. I then messaged the host through the app. I was told that the trash would be taken care of; it was not. We dealt with 4 days worth of trash from 10 people, including dirty diapers. Most of the patio chairs should be discarded. A child fell through one of the dilapidated chairs. The condensation in the guest bath has clearly damaged the ceiling, and it is gross.The entire home, especially downstairs, could benefit from a thorough deep-clean and paint job. For this price , I would not rent this home again.

Great location and nice property

Location was amazing. Communication was great. Property was nice. Overall the property was pretty clean, but the grill was dirty. Needed to be aired out a bit because it smelled shut in. Also, we didn't have access to the office. It had two doors that were locked. We didn't need it, but thought I should mention it. Property could use some extra batteries for remotes and some throw blankets in the living room. We enjoyed our visit.

There is terrible experience for booking from Expedia ever. I am arrived at property on 5 pm and a house has not been clean. Everything massy , trash still there. Bed has not made . It’s so terrible . When I called owner. They said house keeping not clean the house and already out of town. They only give house keeping room code and let’s me clean house by myself. Owner said house keeping will come tomorrow for tonight I need to clean and manage on my own. Owner said will give me a discount for this inconvenience but never keep promise . I left message when check out.owner never call back. I suppose to be on vacation . Not sign up to clean somebody house!!!

We had a fantastic vacation at Yosemite. What an amazing place. The location of this property was really good. It was only a 20 minute drive to the Valley. The house was equipped with most everything you needed. The master bed was very comfortable. The huge sectional is awesome. The house is just a little worn. It’s in need of a deep clean. Carpets are pretty stained, the floors were not well swept and the refrigerator was dirty. The pantry door in the kitchen is being held in place by duct tape. The sink in the master bedroom is coming away from the wall. Several of the Outdoor woven chairs have dry-rot and breaking when you sit in them. Additionally, the Wi-Fi signal that the instructions told you to connect to, was not available, but there was an unsecured Starlink signal that we used to stream shows. All in all, it was a good stay, but I feel like the host could do a few easy things to make the place more enjoyable.
