Le chalet Cedar est situé à l'intérieur du parc national de Yosemite dans un petit développement privé appelé Yosemite West. La maison est située au centre de toutes les principales attractions du parc. La vallée de Yosemite est à 20 minutes - Glacier Point est à 25-30 minutes - Le Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoia Trees est à 35 minutes et la station de ski Badger Pass (réputée pour son école de ski pour les jeunes skieurs) est située à 13 km. La maison dispose de toutes les commodités que vous souhaitez dans une escapade - TV satellite, table de billard, un sauna et un nouveau spa installé en juillet 2018. Le chalet peut accueillir jusqu'à 10 personnes dans 3 chambres, une mezzanine avec 2 grands lits aéro et un canapé-lit. Les lits sont tous dotés de surmatelas et de couettes en duvet pour une nuit de sommeil parfaite. Le chalet dispose d'un chauffage au gaz traditionnel, ainsi que d'un poêle à bois. Loved location!

Place is perfect location for ease of getting to trails. Well stocked kitchen with plenty of cookware. Master bed very comfortable. Comfortable family room furniture with plenty of comfortable seating for 9 adults. Only drawback was there are 3 bedrooms and one sofa bed. Listing stated had 2 futons, in addition to 3 bedrooms, as our complete party didn’t arrive until Wednesday we didn’t realize second sofa was not a fold out until Wednesday night Owner was aware we had 9 adults so not sure why we weren’t told where other “bed” was. We texted asking and didn’t hear back until Friday afternoon that there was an aero bed under cabin if didn’t find one in closet.Owner usually replied back within an hour or so of all other queries. Other issue was oven stopped working in middle of first use. Owner was prompt in sending maintenance out but answer was to flip the breaker to stop incessant beeping. As code on door of oven basically said something more needed to be done we did not use oven again. Again I want to state it was a great place and we absolutely would stay again if we came back. Stove was minor issue as we used grill and stove top for all other mealsAero bed was very comfortable once we had it. Place was clean and honestly had everything you could need. I’m usually wary of hot tubes but this appeared very clean and it was well used after hiking.Thanks for allowing us to rent your home for our family vacation, we had a lovely time.

Great Experience at Yosemite

The property is about 15 minutes away from the breathtaking tunnel view—best you’ll get for larger parties. Amenities were great, kitchen is upgraded and nice. Beds and showers were ok for evening and mornings preparing for and recovering from adventures in the park. Great place!

Excellent Quiet Retreat

Very impressed with this spot--it's a good location within Yosemite West with good views looking to the west. Everything worked extremely well and the owner was very responsive and kind. Would repeat.

Great location and well-stocked

Pros - great location, very accessible to Yosemite; well stocked kitchen with lots of dishes, cooking equipment, and lots of basic household supplies, which is helpful since a real grocery store is an hour away. Beautiful view, hot tub is great as is wood burning stove. Beds are comfortable and the area is peaceful. Pool table and TV with some major streaming services is a plus. Cozy and comfortable for relaxing and some fun games. Great place to hang out after long day in the park.Cons - inaccurate listing, only has one pullout couch instead of 2 double futons (and 3 bedrooms, not 4; pullout couch is in an open loft area next to a bedroom and right above the living room); 10 people (listing count) could not fit here, 8 max; have to haul all your trash and recycling into the park or host will charge a fee; must wash and dry all towels prior to departure (or be charged a fee) but dryer isn’t working well so towels wouldn’t dry after multiple cycles. Only 7 bath towels even though listing says it can accommodate up to 10 guests.

Had great stay despite a couple of issues with the house

We had a great time at this house and found the location and setting to be great. It was a relatively short drive to get down to Yosemite Valley. The house itself is actually nicer than the pictures make it seem! The listing would be greatly improved by some better pictures. Our kids really enjoyed the hot tub and pool table. We enjoyed our time despite a couple of issues with the house:- The oven was having issues and was inoperable when we first arrived, which completely threw our dinner plans into disarray.- One of the sinks didn't work - no water came out.- One of the bedroom outlets had a prong from a plug that was broken off and stuck in the outlet, making it unusable.- The air mattress had a slow leak and should probably be replaced.- It snowed over a foot while we were there and nobody came by to shovel the steps or deck or clear the driveway. This house is 2000' higher than the valley floor, so you MUST have 4WD or chains to get here any time from fall through spring. I don't think this was mentioned in the listing.- We thought it was weird that we had to dispose of our own trash and poach dumpsters in the park despite there being dumpsters in Yosemite West, but this is pretty clearly explained in the listing.We found the hosts to be quick to respond to our messages. We didn't need any immediate action though it would have been helpful to have a working oven and snow removal. Overall we had a great time and would stay here again.

Yosemite National Park Get Away House

Wonderful stay at the Chalet! We enjoyed the All-in-One family Style open kitchen/ dining room/ pool table/ wood fireplace/ wooden A-framed ceiling/ cozy furniture around tv/ starlink. The beds and linens very good/ upstairs master suite has reading nook and a very clean sauna. Family 5-adults. Weekend stay 40min drive to valley for all day sunny hikes. 3” snow night of departure. Very memorable stay!

Great Yosemite getaway

If you aren’t staying in the valley this location is ideal. The chalet is cozy yet spacious equips with all that we could need. The hot tub was a real plus. We would definitely stay here again!

Memorable

Great location able to walk behind the house to a ridge when not ready to drive down to the valley. Hot tub was a blast with the cold weather. We loved the house and layout- better than the pictures, which is usually the other way around. Kitchen had everything including coffee filters and trash bags which is great

We had a blast

With that said, however, and I’m sorry for the late review, there were a few issues…-rodent droppings in the pot/pan cupboard- I totally recognize that this can be an issue in the mountains, but I think cleaning people should pay some attention… just a gentle suggestion - the oven took almost 2 hours to heat to desired temperature. This was a birthday celebration and an excellent prime rib roast was brought…. I think we ate at 10:00 pm. I do question the requirement for guests to do laundry and clean kitchen is a bit much. I recognize that a “cleaning fee” was not included, however, I’m sure it was built in. With that said, we ALWAYS leave our rentals as we found them, but do not appreciate having to spend our last few hours of our stay doing laundry. As far as the cleanliness; the oven hasn’t been cleaned in quite some time. The dust on the dresser and fan in the upstairs bedroom was thick, the windowsills and corners were dusty and had webs. I question the “4hours”” that the cleaning people require. All of this said, the house is comfortable overall, the pool table was a hit. It is in a great location to Valley activities. The spa was a nice plus as well. The kitchen was probably the best stocked kitchen of any rental ever. I think the place needs a little tlc , the exterior could use some linseed oil and attention , and the interior a really good cleaning; but, again, I want to reinforce that we really enjoyed our time.

Making my bucket list come true and then some!

I have wanted to spend Christmas in Yosemite and this home was the perfect location and exceeded my expectations in comfort and convenience. The hosts were very gracious in allowing us to bring our dogs. The kitchen was great for preparing special and ordinary meals including baking. Very roomy and well-stocked with lots of cooking supplies. Rooms were spacious and beds comfortable. Lots of spots and nooks to read, play games, visit throughout the home. I especially enjoyed the living space in the loft area which can also double as a sleeping spot if needed. The master bedroom upstairs was furnished beautifully and there is a dry sauna off the bathroom upstairs which was greatly appreciated after being in the hot-tub in the snow! Yes it snowed on the 24th ALOT and we had troubles getting to the property and up the driveway. But our host got right on it and the driveway was plowed and sanded quickly. Deer greeted us the first day and visited every day. This home played a huge part in making a lifetime memory.

Amazing Stay

Our family recently stayed at the Storybook Chalet inside Yosemite National Park, and even though the weather didn’t cooperate with snow, we couldn’t have asked for a better getaway. The property is truly a gem, combining comfort, charm, and an unbeatable location right inside Yosemite!The Chalet is beautifully designed and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The cozy wood stove and plush bedding made every night feel like a retreat, and the kids absolutely loved the pool table. We also took full advantage of the sauna and spa—such a treat after a day of exploring (or in our case, cozying up indoors during the rain).We’re already planning our next trip and hoping for some snow next time to fully experience all the area has to offer.Highly recommend it!

Great place

Great place and location. So convenient being inside the park. Easy to find. Comfy beds. Great supply of firewood. Loved having the pool table. A few down notes: oven did not heat enough to cook our meal (so we improvised), hot tub jets were weak, and there was a (planned?) power outage so we returned to complete darkness with no warning from the property owner. Being from NY we don’t know anything about planned outages but a heads up would have been appreciated. Cleanliness was ok but cleaners should maybe look up. Overall would probably stay again. Property manager was very quick to respond to calls.

Great place

We were overall very happy with our stay. As stated in other reviews a deep clean needs to happen. There was dust and cobwebs in windows and on light fixtures. The tables and countertops were clean. There were only 4 of us in the cabin, so there was plenty of space. Lots of kitchen supplies, dishes & cooking spices. The coffee maker, oven, stovetop & grill worked great. We were happy to not have to buy trash bags, dishwasher detergent & aluminum foil. The nearest full grocery is over an hour or two away, so prepare for that! The market in Yosemite has everything you would need, it just comes with a price! We didn’t realize how steep the driveway would be. We were in a Nissan Pathfinder and could only back up the personal driveway. Once we made it up to the “landing” of the bottom of the stairs the driveway leveled out. We were happy to already have been in the park and not enter daily! That in itself provided a lot of flexibility for our trip.

Great location

Wonderful overall stay. Would have been great for a weekend. This is not a good location for an extended time because you are required to haul your trash out and there are no trash cans. We had to pile our trash in the entryway because of bears. When you have 7 people staying for 7 nights, the trash adds up. Also only one towel per person for the whole week. Washer and dryer, but I do not expect to have to do laundry when I am on vacation.

Location Location Location!

The Storybook Chalet was a perfect location for me and my family to stay while visiting the park. 20 mins to the valley, 25 mins to Mariposa Grove and 30 mins to Glacier Point. The kitchen had more than enough stuff for us to make our meals at the house. We really enjoyed the fast WiFi and hot tub as well. My only negative comment would be on the cleanliness and upkeep of the house, as someone with severe allergies the house was dusty and it doesn’t look like housekeeping is paying much attention to the vaulted ceilings or air ducts when it comes to the build up of dust. As noted in another review, some regular maintenance is needed such as fixing broken light fixtures, leaking faucets in bathrooms, closet doors, that don’t shut, etc. Overall it was a great place to stay and would have been 10/10 if it wasn’t for the above mentioned.
