House, accommodations, parking, price and communications were absolutely perfect. Spacious, comfortable and well stocked. Fenced yard for dog. Easy location to sights and stores. Beds were comfortable. Showers provided plenty of hot water. The 8 of us had a wonderful stay. Highly recommend and would easily stay again.

While the location of this home is excellent and the host was extremely communicative, the property did not match the expectations set by the listing photos.Upon arrival, we found the interior to be quite dark, as shades covered the front windows and blocked the outside view. The cleanliness was a major issue; the indoor furniture was visibly dirty to the point where we felt uncomfortable sitting on it. The outdoor area was also neglected, featuring an overturned table and chairs covered in thick leaves and pine needles. We actually had to clean the patio ourselves just to have a place to sit down and eat.The house has great potential but currently needs a lot of TLC to feel clean, bright, and safe for guests. Because of these issues, we ultimately decided to cut our trip short and leave early. To the host’s credit, they were professional and refunded us for the unstayed night, though we still incurred a heavy financial loss due to Vrbo retaining their service fees for the booking. I truly hope the owner takes the time to thoroughly clean and refresh the space so future guests can have the bright, clean experience advertised.

We booked this house for a business trip because we like to have a place to cook dinner after a full day of schmoozing. The kitchen had everything we needed and the neighborhood was nice and quite with all the things we needed close by.

Perfect spot, plenty of space

Minutes away from convenience stores, restaurants, shopping, etc. Perfect set up with plenty of seating to relax and even a dedicated work space. Would certainly stay again!

Perfect Family Thanksgiving Accommodations

James’s house was warm, inviting and clean - something you don’t often see in a dog friendly rental! The kitchen is well appointed and well stocked, and we had everything we needed for a lovely family get together that included baking, movie watching and playing with the dogs in a safe, enclosed yard. Thank you, James, for a delightful stay. We will be back!!

Great house with amenities

Me and 4 other colleagues stayed here for a residency at VCU and enjoyed our stay. There were kitchen and bathroom amenities that made us comfortable throughout the week. James was responsive and helpful each time we communicated. Enough space to cook and hang together. We enjoyed our home away from home.

Family came to town for birthday

Last minute my husband’s family wanted to get together for my husband’s birthday so we all stayed at this unit and had a good time. The kitchen was the best part for us to all gather but it didn’t have all the utilities required for cooking. Overall we had a good time.

Great space in great location!

This is the perfect house for a family or multigenerational visitors. Close to Willow Lawn, there are plenty of options to get groceries or eat out. The house has 2 bedrooms and a full bath on the first level and the same upstairs. The kitchen is great and equipped for cooking in. Plenty of seating and the furniture is comfortable. It rained so we didn’t get to check out the fenced yard, but it’s a nice looking space.House is clean and maintained.Would definitely reserve here again.Very responsive owner.

The location was great for our needs as we were visiting family for the holidays- however- the property was in OK shape- with moldy showers, broken kitchen cabinet doors, broken bathroom towel holders, active water leak and damaged and unusable pans. HVAC was inconsistent with bedrooms being cold but kitchen was hot and no vents in the bathrooms.Plus was the property permitted dogs and the Large fenced in backyard was great.Would encourage owner to invest some additional dollars on true repairs vs cosmetic fixes.

Good property but five stars

We appreciated that the landlord allowed us to check in early. Like many ABNB properties, the inside is not quite as nice as the pictures. It’s barely four stars in my opinion. The outside is rough and so is the neighborhood, however that was relatively clear from the photos before we arrived. The appliances were new. Overall not a bad property but it needs work, particularly on the outside.

The Bamboo House

While the picture was accurate the property did not live up to its promise. The location was a bit scary and the exterior of the home was in nasty shape: Broken up driveway, sewer access pipes sticking up through the front yard and a yard full of weeds. While the interior was nicely appointed, painted and clean, it was very dated and in need of a refresh. Kitchen was redone but not the bathrooms or the bedrooms. I would NOT stay here again.
