The Gig, is perfectly located just ouside the wonderful City of Oxford and certainly has the potential to become your favorite new vacation discovery. Just a short trip east on Hwy 6, within minutes you will be at The Gig, away from the hustle of downtown Oxford and into a more peaceful, serene, and scenic natural oasis. Imagine a place with 5 bedrooms and 5 full bathrooms. Each bedroom has a large TV, unlimited WiFi, super comfy king beds, and individual temperature-controlled cooling or heating units. Now walk down the hall into a wonderfully appointed huge open living space and fully equipped kitchen to gather with the rest of your party and enjoy the day's games on a 75" HDTV. If you enjoy the outdoors, step out onto the front covered porch or rear covered patio with views into the valley below and nature that abounds all around.
For those newcomers to Oxford please note that your hosts have lived in Oxford for several years and are well acquainted with the areas vast resources including its many restaurants, stores, sporting venues, and bars.
The Gig is a 2 level building with living spaces on both levels. The ground level, with easier access not requiring a trip up and down stairs, is this listing. The upper unit is occupied by long term tenants. They are not sharing any of the same amenities and enter through a separate access point entirely. It is like 2 separate condos in this way.

The host is VERY welcoming and helpful! The house is very convenient to the main road leading the Oxford. It is WELL set up for big groups, especially if you are eating at the house. The kitchen is huge and the way it opens to the den is perfect for game day on the BIG tv! A few of the beds mentioned are blow up mattresses, but are comfertable. Beds were comfertable, sheets were great. Bring your own toiletries of course, and know that you are only on the bottom level, so a wheelchair is easy to get in and out everywhere. There are people above you though and you can hear them walking around, so just be prepared for that, but it wasn't too bad. it's worth it!

Our stay was nothing short of amazing. The breathtaking scenery, private bathrooms, and ample space made it perfect for our large group of family and friends celebrating our daughter's graduation. The accommodations were ideal, providing everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Highly recommend this rental. Owners live nearby, so anything u need is just a phone call/text away! If we ever come back to Oxford, would definitely stay here again! Very roomy for everyone, never felt crowded.

Awesome Game Day House in Oxford

The house was amazing! accommodated all of us well and never felt small. Host was super nice and went the extra step to make sure we had a good visit in Oxford.

Tremendous football weekend

We had a reunion of 13 buddies for an Ole Miss football game; this place was perfect! Plenty of room; plenty of beds. It’s a short drive to The Square and The Grove. David was great to work with for our arrival!

This rental is absolutely amazing!! Picture does this place no justice!! I’ve never stayed at a VRBO as convenient as this one. Every room had a full bathroom and plenty of space!!

Family and Friends visit to Oxford, MS

The Gig was the perfect place to stay for our large family and friends Plenty of room to spread out, but still be together. The rooms were comfy, cozy and had all the amenities we needed, each room had its own En suite!!! The open living area was great for us to eat together and watch TV. David was a great host and answered all our questions promptly. We will definitely be staying here in the future!

The Gig was the perfect space to meet up with old friends and their families. We had a great time watching Ole Miss basketball and then coming back to enjoy time the house. David was very quick to respond to any of our needs and questions. We’d love to return!

Great Stay at The Gig!

Game Day weekend was a hit at the Gig! This beautiful property was situated in a convenient yet private location. The house is perfectly appointed with 6 large bedrooms and private bathrooms for each couple. The Gig is in impeccable shape and the beds were extremely comfortable. A large deck overlooks rolling hills and the living room was comfortable for 6 couples with plenty of space and comes with a well outfitted kitchen for cooking. We can't wait to come back next year! 5 stars!!!

Awesome for large groups!

If you are traveling with a large group, you can't beat The Gig! PROS: - So many beds/bathrooms! - Excellent communication/responsiveness from mgr. - Nice deck for being outside & more dining space; peaceful/quiet/nice view - Individual temperature control for each bedroom - Beds were comfy; nice bedding too - Extra bedding available for the kids on air mattresses (we brought our own) - Kitchen had everything we needed to cook a couple big meals - Ample parking space CONS: - Flight of stairs to get to the unit; which is tough when hauling in a lot of luggage, etc. - While it is only a short drive to Oxford, it's still a drive that would be a hefty Uber fee: BUT, it's hard to find units this big in town - so well worth the drive - Bath towels were soft - but small. We joked that they were toddler-sized

Great set up for our needs

We choose this place bc of the set up with everyone having their own bathroom. The stairs could be a bit of a challenge if you have mobility issues. Upon arrival it was unclear how to go about checking in. I was able to get a quick response from the host and the door ended up being open and we were able to go in and get settled. We never ended up getting a key, but at times had some family staying back at the house, so it wasn't too big of a deal. We were informed painters would be present the following day, so not having the unit locked was a bit of a concern, but they didn't end up coming so it was a non issue. The house was clean, but dusty. I assume there hadn't been a guest in a bit. The actual cleanliness of the house was great. We didn't have enough towels in the back bedrooms or for the extra living room guests. The host was able to come over and provided additional towels. They were brand new and hadn't been washed, but there is access to laundry downstairs so we just did a load of towels. There wasn't any hot water when we arrived. After 2 cold showers, the host was able to come take care of the issue. However, the king room on the kitchen side never had hot water for our entire stay. Unsure what the issue was with that particular room, but they ended up having to coordinate with another room to take a shower which defeated the purpose of everyone having their own bathroom. Overall it met our needs and we'd stay again. Host was responsive and helpful. Next trip 11BR

Dana, I apologise sincerely for the mid construction of the lower level expansion, the lack of a key, and the cold water shower at first. I have addressed the issues with the hot water, by simply turning the propane tank back on. I believe the propane company must have turned it off when they filled it last. It takes a little for hot water to get to that bedroom you mentioned, but I verified that it does eventually run hot like the rest of the building. I called off the painters that weekend so there wouldn't be any issues for your party. I should have informed you of that during your stay to set your party at ease. As for the door lock, it had to be replaced with new, since all of the keys for the old lock were missing, and 2 keys are now ready in the unit for our next guests. I let our cleaning crew know that there was too much dust left around, likely related to the construction down stairs. I hope you and your party will be back to enjoy the full 11 bedroom experience we are currently working towards. We enjoy hosting large groups and really do appreciate your honest feedback to enhance the experience. Thanks again, Dave

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

To me, The Gig is like a very unique gem that is so very rare, and when you get the chance to experience it in person you will feel as if you are now one of a select crowd of individuals who has seen something uncommonly fantastic. Oxford itself is not your ordinary Mississippi town, with the historical Ole Miss teams and beautiful campus, a shopping and dining experience unparalleled in the south, and a night life you will not soon forget. After leaving the city you can be certain to find a much more relaxed and natural surrounding at The Gig. We are situated close to the Upper Sardis Wildlife Management Area and Sardis Lake itself is within a half hours drive. On the grounds of The Gig there are trees of many species abound and often deer and various birds will wonder through. Inside the Gig you will find my affliction for dimmer switches. I have one in the stairwell, living room, kitchen, patio, hallway, every bedroom, even on each and every bunk bed. This helps to set a particular mood and assists in relaxation as far as I am concerned. Want to watch TV late at night, or read a book in your bunk? Just dim the lights and you will agree that dimmer switches offer an amazing ability. Not only does each bedroom have a dimmer switch, but 4 of the 5 bedrooms has its own private bathroom and all have a 50" TV. Disappear from your party and relax in your room's private bathtub, or sit and watch whatever suits your fancy on the private TV in your room. These unique features and many more await your next stay at The Gig.
