Clink on the Creek- Creekside DT Belton- Pet Friendly
Take a step back into the late 1800s while enjoying comfortable, modern accommodations with this historic home. Originally used as the first Bell County Jail offering spectacular views of Nolan Creek and direct creek access! Constructed in 1873 and featuring the original jail bar windows, the home was built out of solid limestone bricks and still has exposed limestone throughout the home. We have all that you will need for a cozy getaway in the heart of Downtown Belton. At almost 2500 square feet you will have plenty of room to make yourself right at home. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs with 1 king, 1 queen and 2 sets of bunk beds. There is also a full-size desk with office chair in the guest bedroom that overlooks the creek. There is one full bathroom upstairs with a tub which is located in the master and another full bathroom located on the first floor with a shower. This home offers direct access to Nolan Creek, a large covered deck and covered balcony overlooking your private backyard oasis. Located directly across the creek from Yettie Polk Park which features a 3-mile paved walking trail, splash pad, playgrounds, and basketball courts. Permit# 23-10059
Wonderful stay. Amazing location. Walk to the square for food, drinks. River could not have been better. Cool, shallow. Great history in the building and town.Attended graduations at Baylor Waco and Round Rock Stoney Point High. Convenient for both.
VERY comfortable. The property was well stocked and within walking distance to some fun eating establishments. The backyard has multiple levels for you and your guests (family) to enjoy some quick time relaxing and watching the water roll by, then have a nice BBQ dinner at the table for 6 on the outside kitchen level. All while others walk down to the creek looking for crawdads. We enjoyed the unique opportunity to stay in a historical property. We will definitely be back!
This was a fun quirky old jail turned into a rental property that was tons of fun. The host was quick to reply and very kind. Would definitely stay here again!
Three family women on a girlâs trip. Was perfect. Great location- can walk to coffee shop and restaurants. The deck overlooking the creek was wonderful - we spent most of our time there. Charming house. We are already talking about returning. Thank you so much.
We absolutely loved it here. Beautiful and peaceful even though it is blocks from downtown Belton. It river was clean and clear. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch watching the ducks and the river.
Perfect hideaway. With history
We booked this stay so we could observe and film the Total Eclipse. It is a wonderful historic home with the bonus of having Nolan Creek behind the house. Our family was able to meet us there and enjoy the house, visiting and the Eclipse. If we have a reason to get back to Belton we would definitely book this place. The hosts made it very easy and provided a beautiful venue.
Our two families of four had a very laid back & fun stay! The house has everything you need but the creek has even more to offer. The kids were able to wade & tube on their own without having the adults hovering over them. We caught fish off the bank & wading in the creek. Grilled out & stayed in our comfy clothes! Kids had a blast & so did the adults!
Uniquely and tastefully designed to complement the historic significance of the property. The home was fully stocked and provided all possible comforts and conveniences. The host was exceptionally helpful and accommodating. The jail theme made for a fun experience and the backyard decks and creek access was truly perfect for an entertaining and enjoyable weekend with friends and family. Highly recommended and we will stay again.
Loved the history of the jailhouse and Belton was a lot of fun. Lovely view of Nolan Creek from the back of the house. Stairs can be a bit of a challenge for seniors but we managed. And the windows in the bedrooms really need blackout curtains since there is a lot of outside light at night. Host was very responsive to a couple of concerns/questions. Definitely recommend this property.
We were visiting Belton for homecoming game. We booked this awesome home with so much history. Once I told the kids what it use to be they were shocked. We got to walk to breakfast and dinner. Sat out back and enjoyed Nolan creek while sipping on wine. Host was great and hole was very clean. We were able to bring our fur babies to enjoy the trip too! Will book again when back in town.
We enjoyed staying at this property. We especially enjoyed the fire pit and the deck, and being so close to fun shops and eateries in Belton. One thing that we were not aware of is that the only bathroom upstairs, where the bedrooms are located is in the main bedroom. The other guests had to come into the main bedroom during the middle of the night to access the bathroom. There is one full bathroom downstairs but we are old (72) and did not want to go down the stairs during the night. The owners have worked hard to make it a nice place and it is.
Loved the history of the house/jail. The location right on the water and just a blocks off downtown. Found this place by accident as we were looking for Salado stay. This was such a great set up for a girl trip and brought us to Belton that we never would've stopped at. We lucked into the B4 Festival going on and found The Gin. It was a perfect all around trip. And, I love the old floors, the creaking...the sounds. Awesome for full around experience. Only wish we had more downtime scheduled into our trip to fully use the porches.
My small suggestions would be to have at least 1 full length mirror somewhere. The place is huge and there are plenty of place to hang a mirror. Wish the bunk beds had full set of sheets and not just the fitted. It just wasn't as comfy without all the sheets. And leave blankets in the closet....we had to take from another bed.
History recap would've been a cool addition to the dinning room table.
I'm already checking out the calendar for another stay!!!
A fabulous place with the most excellent hosts weâve ever interacted with! The house itself is completely usable and every single amenity is included: all kinds of pots, pans, differently sized plates and cups and glasses, foil and parchment paper-it lacks absolutely nothing! Add to that the historic nature of the house-so fun to stay in the old jail and to be able to see evidence of it. The patios are excellent and the creek is right out back; a couple of blocks from the front of the house are coffee shops (one with incredible tacos) and stores. Easy drive to Chalk Ridge Falls and Lake Belton. This is a one of a kind property, and the responsiveness of the hosts is out of this world. Ten out of ten for everything about our stay!
The Clink on the Creek is a fun historical place to stay. Walking distance to some of Beltonâs best spots and everything youâd need to have a great time- cornhole, adult sized swing, fires pit and grills and a fully stocked kitchen. I expect we will be back.
