Welcome to CAPTAIN’s COVE nestled among the trees where you will often see deer and wildlife passing through to get a drink from the lake. Enjoy the perfect location for your vacation getaway inside The Margaritaville Resort (formally known as Tan-Tar-A) with Amenities Galore! Relax and watch the sunset over the water, swim in one of the 5 resort pools, rent a boat or jet ski from the resort marina or visit one of the 4 restaurants inside the resort. There is also an indoor waterpark (open weekends w/fee), horseback riding, fishing, miniature golf and vintage arcade games with pool tables and shuffleboard. Located in the heart of Osage Beach close to all the nightlife, shopping and entertainment.

Lakefront House

Spacious Living Room with vaulted ceilings open to both kitchen and dining area. Large woodburning fireplace where you can relax and watch the sunsets over the lake. There is a fully equipped kitchen with SS appliances, updated cabinets and large breakfast bar seating for 4. Living Room opens up to a screened in patio complete with outdoor dining area and grill. There are 3 large TV's including one 60-inch throughout the house with cable/HBO included. Stunning lake views from every room in the house!
3 oversized en-suite bedrooms with 2 queen beds in every room. All 3 bedrooms have balcony access, lake views and full private baths. Main floor bedroom has vaulted ceilings and ceiling fan.
Full sized washer and dryer available for use. Starter toiletries, bath towels, paper towels, garbage bags, dish soap provided. Please pack a beach towel. 3 parking spaces available for guests. New 3 burner gas grill!

Family vacation

This property was perfect for my family. Check-in was easy, location was close to pool and on an inlet of the lake. We had a well stocked kitchen for cooking and plenty of seating of our meals. Very comfortable!

Great host!

Property was great, well maintained and cared for! Good communication with host and she was very attentive. Wish we had more time to enjoy all the things that the area had to offer, but we only had a short stay.

Perfect for 3 families

We had 3 families with kids staying and the 2 queen beds with their own en suites was perfect. Communication was excellent. Any time I had a question I received a very quick answer.

Relaxing Stay

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The screened in porch was perfect for morning coffee and Bible time. Property was clean and as advertised.

Great location

I would definitely book this place again. Location was great. Beautiful views. Lots of room! Enjoyed cooking for my friends and sitting on the deck. Family friendly as well.

Thanks for your feedback Sarah. We are continuing to make improvements for our guests. We have remodeled all the bathrooms, painted the entire inside, installed new flooring throughout and replaced some decks. We have a new hot tub and new grill. Glad you liked the space and want to come back!

Last minute bday getaway

If this place is available rent it! You don’t even need to leave the neighborhood. Very nice pool that hardly anyone was at, I walked my dog up by there a couple of times. It’s about 4 blocks maybe less. Three suites all with their own bathroom. Kathleen was very helpful with any questions I had after check in Nice water access to the end of the cove in very calm water that got shallow and would be perfect for kids didn’t have to go out very far and was deep enough for a nice swim This place also has a screened in porch that was perfect for one of the days it rained. the ceiling fan is great out there I’m definitely planning on coming back here Great place!!!!

Host was very accommodating and helped make sure we were happy. One thing I will note for future reference to others with small children, this chalet wasn’t the most toddler friendly. Sharp edged corners on the end tables, the screened in porch seemed like a toddler could just push it and fall out, like there should be spindles or balusters in place. I felt comfortable with my 6 year old out there, but not my 2 1/2 yr old unattended. I mean the photos show this so I should’ve known, but I guess in person it seems more unsafe. I appreciated the bottom rooms had deadbolts on the sliding doors so little ones couldn’t get out, because the bottom rooms led to the stairs that went straight to water. It wasn’t the cleanest rental I’ve ever been in but like I said the owner made sure to rectify our issues. We stayed end of busy season, so a lot was probably wear from busy summer and lots of guests. The kitchen was well stocked with plates and silverware and a few condiments we didn’t need to buy. We really loved the neighborhood pool within walking distance and the close proximity to Margaritaville.

This property was not as described. Said large living room. Sleeps 13. Our party was 10. Couch and 1 chair in living room. Ants on counter. Spiders in tub. Kitchen not stocked well. No mixer. 1 kitchen towel. I dish cloth. Add says washer and dryer. They were locked. They said because we were only staying 4 nights. What? Bath towel literally had a huge hole in it. Request to get in a lil early , wedding rehearsal was at 4. Nope. Golf cart we rented did not run right. Full of trash. Clothes, cans. Requested some compensation, was ignored. I do not recommend staying here. I never write a complaint. But for the price we paid, I expected more. Usually VRBO's are great. Not this one.

We gave access to washer/dryer the day you arrived. You were kindly given over 2 hours early entry into the property which is generous during our busiest time of the year. Security was called not once but twice by the neighbors for fireworks each time which is clearly marked throughout the Resort as not allowed. The cart had one empty saltine wrapper but clean otherwise with the cover stored in the back storage area. There are 12 seats and a couch and recliner in the kitchen/LR arena and another 9 seats one the first floor balcony. There are 6 queen beds and one roll away so the house does sleep 13 with extra large bedrooms ensuite including balconies. I arrived immediately after your stay and saw no bugs and we do spray regularly as prevention. Captain’s Cove is located next to a beautiful wooded area with deer commonly seen inside the resort. I delivered more towels immediately and I happy to do whatever I can to make guests more comfortable. I check in during guests stay to see if there is anything I can help to improve your experience.

Good property with plenty of room for our group the dishes were in the dishwasher when we arrived which we didnt know untill we tried to fill before leaving so we worked from the same few bowls/plates/utensils with several people because we didnt know they were there .... their were not extra linens anywhere just what was on the beds same with towels/wash rags was not stocked with extra so if longer stay will need to bring laundry soap to do laundry between because that was also not available for use. All closets and under beds were filled with stuff so no where to put your things if there for longer stay...nice to have access to water via stairs but be careful they are extreamly steep! I have a fear of heights and the parking was terrifying for me but I got through it lol all in all great community calm quiet area great communication with owner very prompt responses and extreamly helpful with things to do and good restaurants in the area!!

Glad you enjoyed the spaciousness and great location inside the resort! I apologize for the cleaning staff not emptying out the clean dishes and it will not happen again. We leave a full set of towels for each guest and there is laundry detergent on top of the dryer. I checked in to see if you needed anything and wish you could have communicated you needed more towels/linens. I would have happily provided them. It was a 3 day stay so typically one set is enough. We just installed a new railing down to the water, trimmed all the trees, added larger TV’s and still have many more improvements planned. We have only owned the house for 2 months. A couple of the many closets have some decor we still have to use at the house that will be taken care in the next week to free up all the closet space. It was a pleasure hosting your stay and we hope you come back again soon!

The house is fine but after being in a few other houses in the same neighborhood during our stay I’d say that you can either spend less for something the same or nicer; or spend a bit more for something far nicer. Here are a few things to know when considering this house. *inside is clean, but the exterior could use some cleaning and paint (especially the front door - it’s filthy!). It looks like some interior updating is in progress. *While the house is technically on the water, it’s the furthest back in the channel with basically a puddle of water. Enough to launch the kayaks but nothing more. There is no lake view. *It is a major undertaking to use the kayaks - very steep staircase. There isn’t a dock so hauling the kayaks up and down after every use isn’t going to be for everyone. *The mini split air conditioners have a hard time keeping the house cool, especially the top floor. *If the listing still pictures a washer and dryer, know that it isn’t actually available to guests. The owner ended up letting us use it, so that was appreciated. *The owner is quick to respond and seems to genuinely want your stay to be good. *There are deer everywhere. We walked out one morning to find one basically at the door. Pretty cool to see!*There are tons of pools and the margaritaville resort area is great for all ages.

Glad you liked the location and amenities at the Margaritaville Resort. We are located on the water which is 4 feet deep in front of the house. Thank you for appreciating the cleanliness of Captain’s Cove! Our cleaning staff works very hard to prepare the house for our guests. We do have a lake view because the lake is in front of the house but we are on the shallow end of the cove. Many guest prefer it for easy entry and for smaller kids. We have installed all new lighting, flooring and completely remodeled all 3 baths. The house is definitely updated as you can see from the photos. We do get cobwebs in the front door area even through we clean it before guests arrive. We are surrounded by nature and wildlife so there will be bugs outside. We work hard to ensure our guests enjoy their stay and will continue to make improvements for our guests enjoyment.
