Leaf Cottage: peaceful & pretty family home for 10 with views of Mt Scott!

Leaf Cottage has 4 bedrooms: 3 of these have a queen bed with medium and firm pillows for each guest, blackout blinds and curtains, and a closet featuring both hanging and shelving space. The fourth bedroom has a fun bunkbed for children to enjoy, with a twin over a full and a pull-out twin trundle so it can comfortably sleep 4!

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need to cook yourself a delicious meal which you can enjoy sitting at the beautiful dining table with comfortable seating for 8 guests, or you could enjoy outside at the outside dining table (and grill).

Enjoy your morning coffee on the front porch, sitting on the bench swing or in the rockers overlooking the lake and Mount Scott!

You will have access to the entire cottage and a pretty grass yard. Please note the yard is not fenced. There is an outdoor dining table and chairs with an umbrella for shade. There is a double drive outside the cottage for two trucks to park comfortably and free street parking.
There are steps leading up to the front door of the cottage, but for a step-free entrance, you can enter through the back door.

There are board games in the coffee table, and a SmartTV for you to enjoy.

Please note that this cottage was built in the 1940s so whilst all the plumbing works perfectly, it may be a little slower than you are used to. The faucet in the powder room takes a few seconds to stop running after you have turned the tap off. We hope you'll agree that this is one of the fun quirks of staying in an older property!

Fun Fact: Leaf Cottage is named after our rescue dog, Leaf! Leaf was adopted from a local animal shelter after being seized by an animal control officer from a property where she was being very badly treated and was in terrible health. The shelter vet deemed her 'unadoptable'. With a lot of love and care, Leaf has beaten all the odds and is a beautiful adventure dog who loves going on hikes (especially on the Lawtonka Lake trails!) and hanging out with her feline sister, Acorn. Leaf is old but full of special character - and we hope you will feel that our Leaf Cottage is the same!!

Located on a quiet street within 5 minutes walking distance to the dam, Lawtonka Lake, multiple hiking trails, and the main street in Medicine Park with its bustling bars and restaurants, Leaf Cottage is perfectly located to give you a tranquil stay in Medicine Park whilst enabling you to enjoy all that the area has to offer!

Medicine Park main street boasts bars, cafes, restaurants and some lovely unique shops. Enjoy a walk or swim in the river or a spot of trout fishing by the dam.

Leaf Cottage is set one street back from the main strip, offering guests some peace and quiet. It takes two minutes to walk to Lawtonka Lake from the cottage, and to the various hiking trails that offer stunning views of the lake and Mount Scott. Medicine Park Aquarium offers a fun day out!

Medicine Park is small and pedestrian friendly so it is easy to walk around and Leaf Cottage is within 5 minutes walk of the main street. Many guests drive golf buggies around the area and the lake (there is a golf cart rental in Medicine Park)! There are free parking areas on the main street opposite the restaurants, shops and bars, but these do get extremely busy, especially at weekends, so you might want to leave your vehicle parking on the driveway of Leaf Cottage and walk from there.
