Welcome to Mapleshade Cottage, a renovated vintage cottage in Lexington Heights. Just 3.5 miles from downtown Lexington and within walking distance of a beautiful stretch of Lake Huron, Mapleshade has 4 separate bedrooms, one full bathroom, and one quarter bathroom with W/D. The kitchen and bathrooms have been completely renovated and updated. The home is kid-friendly with a set of eco-conscious bamboo dining/flatware, high chair, pack ‘n play, and fully fenced back yard.

Kitchen: This chef’s kitchen has been newly renovated and every item is brand new. Large appliances include a 5-burner gas range and dishwasher. You will feel right at home with the assortment of convenient small appliances including an Instant Pot, Ninja blender/food processor, toaster, griddle, hot water kettle, and Keurig K-Duo coffee maker. The cupboards boast a full set of pots and pans, bakeware, cooking/baking utensils, cutting boards, and a full knife block. The wrap-around quartz countertops include a peninsula that opens into the dining room and creates bar seating for those who would like to visit with the chef.

Dining Room: The bar height dining table comfortably seats 4-6, but by folding out the inset leaf and pulling over a couple of bar stools, the table will accommodate 8. After the plates are cleared away, just reach into the small cabinet below the table and grab cards, Scrabble, Jenga, or any of the other games to begin game night! The writing desk in the corner is a great place to set up your computer to do a little work or write out a postcard. A large AC window unit in this central room will blast cool air throughout the main floor, keeping you cool even on the most sweltering of summer days.

Living room: The whole crew can melt into the gigantic sectional couch as you gather for movie nights in front of the massive 72” SmartTV with Bose sound bar. The large central ottoman has ample space for drinks and popcorn while the surrounding wall sconces provide the perfect mood lighting for any evening. In the cold winter months, there are numerous soft throws to cozy up with and a remote-controlled gas fireplace for warmth and ambiance.

Full Bathroom: Conveniently located on the bottom floor, this custom bathroom is nothing short of luxurious. The spacious tile shower is equipped with a waterfall shower head, a hand held spray nozzle, and marble shaving step. The top down/bottom up window shade allows for both privacy and beautiful natural light and the dimmable lights and deep soaking tub provide the perfect setting for a relaxing evening at home. The back-lit mirror with anti-fog feature caps off the amenities to make this bathroom the perfect blend of modern convenience and classic elegance. In winter, the heated tile floor will ensure this is your favorite room in the house.

Half Bathroom: This bathroom is equipped with a toilet, small utility vanity, and front loading washer and dryer.

Primary Bedroom: Located on the ground floor, the primary bedroom is equipped with a queen sized bed with memory foam mattress and night stands with built-in charging for both USBs and standard outlets. The large closet and seating bench help you stay organized and the full length standing mirror makes it easy to get ready for a night out. The ceiling fan over the bed will keep you cool on warm summer nights and the north and south facing windows provide ample natural light. Custom blackout blinds on all the windows will afford you complete privacy and allow for extra sleep in the mornings. The closet is also home to an iron and ironing board as well as a high chair and pack ‘n play.

Bedroom 2: The Whale Room, with its comfortable twin over full bunk beds, is a great room for both kids and adults. Bespoke wall hooks, a hanging rack, and luggage rack keep you organized, and the wall mounted shelves at the head of both beds have power run directly to them for convenient charging. Like all other bedrooms in the house, the windows are fitted with custom blackout blinds which help you sleep in and act as a thermal barrier during warm summers and cold winters.

Bedroom 3: The Feather Room is furnished with a comfortable queen bed with powered nightstands on either side. Hooks and a luggage rack are available for your convenience.

Bedroom 4: The Ship Room is a multi-use space located at the end of the upstairs hallway. The futon couch, 32” wall mounted SmartTV, toy box, and low mounted bookshelves, make this a safe and fun lounge space for the kiddos to watch their own movies and play. The futon folds down into a twin bed and all bedding is stored behind it. This room is also the home of the AC unit for the upstairs. To maximize the effectiveness of the unit, we suggest keeping all occupied bedroom doors open and all blackout blinds drawn just prior to bedtime.

Outside: The front porch has patio seating for two - perfect for enjoying the birdsong and early morning light over a fresh cup of coffee. The back patio set seats four and there is a separate picnic table for kids. The fire pit seats 6 adults and two small kids. The yard is completely fenced. We hope you enjoy the timeless beauty and shade of the ancient maple that is the heart of this property.

HOUSE RULES:

- No more than 3 cars on site
- Do NOT park on road or in neighbors` way!
- All furniture must be put back where it is found!
- No Shoes on while inside the home
- Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 8 AM
- Please respect our neighbors by not having loud music or by yelling and using profanity (many are permanent residents!)
- Garbage must be bagged up, put into trash bins at the end of the drive way at departure.
- You must be 25 or older to rent this cottage
- Please note: RVs, tents, and campers are not permitted at our homes. Failure to comply will result in applicable fees.
