Notre rĂ©sidence secondaire toute l'annĂ©e construite sur mesure (nouvelle en 2005) vous accueillera pour vivre la dĂ©tente estivale avec style! La maison est prĂšs de la charmante Wakefield, Narragansett, Westerly et plusieurs des meilleures plages de RI, et nous incluons un laissez-passer pour la plage de Matunuck Beach. La maison, Ă©quipĂ©e d'un ascenseur desservant tous les niveaux, est une maison «à l'envers» Ă  trois niveaux avec climatisation centrale et foyer au gaz; le salon principal, les terrasses et la chambre principale sont au dernier Ă©tage pour une vue maximale sur l'Ă©tang Green Hill et votre cour privĂ©e. Lovely home and location with nice views. Large kitchen with plenty of dishes, utensils, etc. for all cooking needs. Close to great beaches and ice cream shops. Some of us went canoeing on the pond, which was nice. It would have been even better if we were able to swim in the pond.

Our family was so grateful for our stay. It was easy access to all of our favorite locations, but also offered a private neighborhood for quiet relaxation on the pond. The house was very well equipt and easy to access.

This is our 4th year at Sandy and Bernie’s beautiful pond view home. My family has thoroughly enjoyed our stay each and every year. The Forands could not be more accommodating. The home is beautiful and the view stunning. We plan on returning for the foreseeable future.

Family Vacation

We go every year Our group keeps getting bigger as the grandchildren grow up, find girlfriends and marry. They just keep coming and going. This house was beautiful and served us just right. Close to beach and towns. Hope Matunuck Oyster House is open again next year. One of our favorites. Planning on returning next year.

Beautiful Home!

We went there for the week with our 3 grown children and their families. There was plenty of space and amenities for us all to be there and we weren’t crowded. Having the full size crib and high chair was a huge help! The house was clean and well stocked with everything you would need except food for the week. We really enjoyed it!!

As a frequent user of VRBO, I have learned to pay close attention to reviews. Here the reviews were very enthusiastic about the quality of the house and the attention to detail of the owners. Our experience confirmed that in every way. It is sometimes only a slogan to say "we treat you like a guest" but here it was true. Our group of six was intent on cooking for each other; the kitchen and its supplies were superior and we had a wonderful time making and serving meals. We recommend this house without reservation!

Wonderful in every way

This is a wonderful house and situation. We enjoyed every moment of our two weeks there. We entertained many guests, all of whom loved the house. The house itself is lovingly decorated and very well supplied. The view peaceful and restorative and many amenities available. We spent lots of time at the beach (for which beach passes are provided) as well are much time just "hanging" at the house with friends and family. A lovely experience!

Lovely, Spacious Home in Idyllic Setting

Perfect dining room table and living room for a family of nine, yet plenty of space for quiet time alone. Very well equipped kitchen; didn’t need all the utensils we brought from home. Quiet woodland setting with beautiful view of pond, yet close to beaches. Everyone of all ages had a wonderful time.

Beautiful home!

We returned for the third year to this fantastic property and had a wonderful stay. The house is spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the pond. The location is ideal and provides easy access to surrounding beaches. We are eager to come back soon!

A wonderful house that does not disappoint at any level

We spent a wonderful week at this lakeside home. The house layout was excellent for our 3 family units. Erveryone had their own private area while we all hung out together in the comfortable 3rd floor living room/dinning room/kitchen open area or the 3rd floor deck/outdoor eating area most of the time. There was also a comfortable den on the second floor for anyone needing a little space. The house was stocked with all the big and little things you need for a vacation like this, unlike any rental I've ever had. We brought extensive kitchen tools and supplies, games, beach chairs, beach umbrellas etc and none were necessary- everything we needed was already there- every time! There was a great lake canoe+2 kayaks (3 life jackets only: kid, teen + adult). The 2 car beach passes were great for a nice beach a short drive away + during the week there was plenty of parking any time of day (didn't go on the weekend). The master suite is a perfect space + a second bedroom had it own bath and was very nice. The 3rd adult BR is adjacent to the kids room and just fine. I also should add the elevator was a great help moving in with all our heavy stuff . We didn't need it often but when we did it was a real asset. Lastly, Sanda is a perfect host. She responded to any question within a few minutes each time and always helpful. I expect we will be back at this wonderful home next year!

This was our second time staying at this beautiful home. I have stayed at many rental properties and none compare when it comes to the care that is put in and completeness (everything and anything you can think of is there!). Second year didn’t disappoint!

We stayed at this beautiful property for the second year in a row and had a wonderful time. The house is clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a stunning view of the pond and tons of deck space. The kitchen is well equipped and great for cooking and sharing a meal as a large family group. There is ample space for lounging and for sleep (we shared the home between 5 adults and 4 small children). The home is close to the most beautiful beaches and easily accessible to so many great spots in RI. We have zero complaints and will definitely be back!

Perfect family vacation spot

The house is spacious and lovely and the salt water pond location is wonderful. We enjoyed the bikes, kayaks and canoe as well as the beaches. The owners are very responsive and generous with supplies. All 9 of us had a terrific week!

I almost don’t want to let others know how great this place is


I feel like by sharing my experiences everyone will want to stay here and it won’t be available for a future stay! This house was an absolute DREAM, and had everything you could possibly think of. The kitchen is spectacular and the upstairs is a great gathering place for families and friends. The views are nothing short of stunning. Sandy and Bernie are A+++ hosts who were friendly, responsive, and so very thoughtful in the way they had everything covered. By far the best rental we’ve had in RI.

Vacay at Green Hill Pond

We had a truly wonderful week. We had a wedding on Saturday and we were able to check in earlier, which was a lifesaver!! I highly recommend this house! We were a family of six and a two year old. The outside decks were greatly appreciated!

Pond side serenity

This is our second stay in this beautiful home. It has a wonderful view of Green Hill Pond and is a short car ride to a very nice beach and play ground. This home was perfect for our family to spread out in or enjoy each others company in either of the 2 spacious family room areas. With an inverted floor design, we were able to fully appreciate the views from the 3rd level living area or deck. The very private neighborhood was a big plus. Much kudos to the owners who were very gracious and accommodating.

AMAZING HOME!

We had such a wonderful time! Can't say enough good things about their home. Their house is great for a group! We had 6 adults and our dog. And 4 other folks come over for a full day and dinner. The pictures dont do this house justice. The ceilings are high, rooms are bigger than the photos show. There is a ton of light. Among the group we have all stayed in many VRBO/ ABnB homes and this was one of the best ones. We were there in December and so our guess is in summer it would be even more magical. Sandy is an amazing host and answers all questions quickly. The home is ready for folks to get there, relax, have space and enjoy. It was a PLEASURE staying there! On a scale of 1 to 10 --- we would give it a 15!!

FANTASTIC

This is the best short term rental we've ever had, hands down. The pictures don't do this incredible, luxurious home justice. We had fabulous views and more than enough room for everyone to spread out inside or outside in comfort. Lots of places say they have everything you need but we've learned to pack extra just in case>> but this house had everything from band aids to cooking spray to boogie boards to a really great library. The elevator made it possible for our elderly aunt to join us, which made the family gathering extra special.

Beautiful property

My family and I had an amazing time at this house which was even more beautiful, comfortable, clean, and spacious than we expected. Communication with the host before and during our stay was seamless and she kindly answered several questions I had about the house before our stay. My family of four shared the house with my brother’s family and we had plenty of space for everyone including the three young kids. We were also pleasantly surprised by the two office spaces which allowed for working remotely very comfortably when needed. The elevator is convenient and made loading/unloading bags a breeze. The kitchen is well stocked and very spacious so we were able to make some great meals. Huge decks and large windows provide beautiful pond views. The house is a short drive from many great beaches and other activities. We have zero complaints and definitely plan to be back in the future!

Wonderful house with gorgeous view!

Our family had the best time here! The house is even more beautiful than the photos, very spacious. Enjoyed coffee on the deck every morning with the spectacular view of the salt pond. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked a few times but also got carryout seafood a couple nights. Visited the bakery and ice cream shop down the road and took trips to Newport and Mystic. The home is very peaceful and private, it was perfect for our family of six adults and a baby. We used the provided beach passes a few times, and had fun kayaking on the pond. Sandy, the owner, was very responsive and helpful before and during the trip. We would love to come back to this amazing vacation home!

Our home base is in Hartford, Connecticut but we frequently escape to our home-away-from-home in Rhode Island, and enjoy traveling in our retirement. We built this -- Bernie's Dream House -- in the first year of our marriage in 2005 and both house and marriage are big successes. The house is large, to welcome various groupings of our 6 children and spouses, and 16 grandchildren, and numerous friends. After a walk, paddle on the pond or a day at the beach, we like to gather with friends or curl up with lots of books, whether on the deck or by the fire.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Bernie dreamed of a house near the beach his whole life, and having lived in Rhode Island in the past he gravitated to the beautiful RI beaches. He found the land in 2002 and started designing the house before he retired, and by the time Sandy came on the scene it had gone through five architects and numerous design phases. It was worth the wait -- the result is spectacular yet comfortable, expansive yet cozy in each area of the house.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Many families choose to rent our house because we have an elevator serving all three levels, so people who are less mobile can be part of the family vacation. Because it is our dream house, it has special touches like beautiful dark Brazilian hardwood and solid oak floors. One of the most striking features is our deck area -- there are 250 square feet of deck on the guest room level, an equal amount on the top main floor, a 150 square foot 'crow's nest' deck at roof level from which you can see the ocean and Block Island. (One of our carpenters assigned to the deck commented, 'There is as much room on these decks as in the whole house!')
