Great location and space!
We stayed at Marc's flat in Paris this summer and loved it! It was clean and comfortable with a great atmosphere, and we felt very safe. Its location was wonderful also, so easy to walk to great restaurants and fabulous sights. We highly recommend this place to anyone!
Thank you Marc!
Great location, awesome owner
This was a great apartment for our Paris vacation. Marc met us at the apartment and explained everything we needed to know about the apartment. It was very clean and had everything or family needed. Perfect location. Close to shopping and restaurants. I’d definitely stay here again if we go back to Paris.
Great apartment and fabulous location in the heart of Paris
We were a family of 5 and we enjoyed our stay at this apartment. Marc was an incredible and a very accommodating host in helping us with taxi service in the city. The apartment was very close the metro station, bus lines and lots of fantastic places to eat and in the fun Latin district of Paris. The apt did not have air condition but lots of windows with nice breeze so it was not necessary during the hot summer days in July. Thank you Marc!
Marc is wonderful
Great location in the Latin Quarter. Close to all many metro lines. Walking distance to many feature
The apartment is in an charming older building from the 1700s. You walk up a couple flights of stairs and enter a living room with two bedrooms off to the side. The bathroom is in the back and there’s a small water closet as you walk in the apartment. In the bathroom there is a sink and a bathtub with a hand held shower hose. There is a washing machine and a dish washing machine. The apartment is in the back of the building so it’s VERY quiet for the city. The beds were comfortable but the back bedroom has a very squeaky bed. Not ideal for getting frisky with your daughter in the next room. As I mentioned above the location is fantastic. There are many different metro stops right nearby. The Seine and Notre Dame are a few blocks away. Anything you would need in the city: restaurants, bars, cafés, markets, and stores are right nearby. The Middle Ages museum is right nearby. I love this location and would be happy to come back and stay there again.Thank you so much Marc and Martine.
Great location, friendly owner; questionable shower and master bed frame
The apartment is generally as-described. Location was very convenient to many sights, as well as to buses and subway. Owner was very friendly and helpful (with luggage up 2 flights of stairs -- keep in mind 2nd floor in Europe means 3rd floor in US) and gave us a thorough walkthrough of the unit upon check-in. He even walked us to the local supermarket when we asked for directions.
We arrived in Paris during a heat wave (87 deg F, 30 deg C), so we had to sleep with the windows open, which did provide a nice breeze. However, as stated in the ad, the unit overlooks 2 inner courtyards, which means when the windows are open, one can hear all manner of sounds from the other apartments in the building that also had their windows open. First night, one apartment partied loudly until 1:30am; third night, a girl chain-smoked out her window while talking and crying loudly on her cell phone until midnight. I don't think the owner can do much about these situations, other than perhaps provide a fan in each room to allow sleeping with windows closed during hot nights.
For US travelers, there is a situation that needs mentioning. While the ad states there is a shower, it is strictly a hand-held shower (as can be seen in the photo of the bathroom). There is no bracket onto which the sprayer can be placed to allow for hands-free showering. I confirmed this with the owner as well. This can be highly inconvenient for those not used to showering while holding a sprayer. And since there is also no shower curtain of any kind, one can either resort to taking a bath or, alternatively, sitting in the tub while showering with one hand for lathering. And by the way, travelers need to provide their own soap, shampoo, and/or conditioner (out of the 3 rentals we had in Europe, this was the only one that didn't). From all the positive reviews of this apartment, I can only assume that they're from Europeans used to hand-held showers or from Americans who chose to bathe instead of shower.
Lastly, the master bed. It was very large and comfortable. However, the frame is all metal and squeaks loudly with any kind of movement. My wife and I woke each other up several times each night when shifting positions.
I think if the owner cares enough to address these situations (new bed frame, add shower curtain and wall bracket for sprayer, provide basic toiletries and fans), it can be a very nice vacation rental for all travelers, including those from the US.
Thank you for the advices.
The bed frame will be changed next ( early ) September . And will think to the possibility to installa shower curtain .
Un point de départ idéal pour découvrir Paris.
