The entry was a little tricky - to lock it when going out was difficult to pull door tight to lock. everything else was great. The host was very responsive if there was a problem. We had an enjoyable stay !

The home was roomier than I anticipated. We had plenty of space. One could stay up without disturbing anyone who retired early. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. Martha replied to texts promptly. She was very helpful when we had questions about the New Harbor area or about our stay. Martha gave us suggestions about places nearby to see that we would have missed on own own. We would stay again.

The house was clean and the beds comfortable. We enjoyed how peaceful the area is and how friendly the locals are. This was our first trip to Maine and we were not disappointed!

I would recommend a screen shot of directions and instructions because we lost service while trying to find the property, which is exactly what we wanted! So much more space than the pictures provided and we were very comfortable!

We were very comfortable in Martha’s house! Very clean, well stocked, obviously she likes to bake/cook! Had a little trouble locking up door as it told us it wasn’t locked when it clearly was, no issue w/ check in code. The book collection and Down East magazines were amazing, we brought books and sewing projects…never turned on the TV. Anyone w/ mobility issues should be carful w/ thresholds, few steps and rugs. Thank you for sharing this lovely house, so cozy!

Odd property but excellent for us. Front door enters a living room, but we didn't use it because if you go straight through a bedroom you reach the kitchen and living room with a fireplace (loved it). Then there is the bathroom and twin bedroom at the end. outdoors is a lovely deck and fire pit.overall, a wonderful place and centrally located to everything that you'd need. It's a 30 minute drive to anywhere here, which is not a bad thing, but you can walk to a nice convenience store from here. Wine, booze, fresh veggies, dry goods, etc. no complains!

Perfect spot for a few friends to stay for our local wedding! There are plenty of fans in the home but beware the middle, full bed room was quite warm, even with windows open. The rest of the house stayed quite cool with fans and window breeze. If you are sensitive to scents there are multiple plug ins and the front 2 rooms have a pretty strong scent, which could be difficult for those with asthma/scent sensitivities. If you use Waze it will take you much further past the home so heads up :)Hope to be back in beautiful Maine soon! Thanks Martha!

This is a comfortable home in a beautiful area. Short walk to new harbor which has a great ice cream/coffee stand and a grocery store. Short drive to the beautiful lighthouse, beach, and great restaurants. Spacious rooms with beautiful antique furnishings and a peaceful outdoor deck. You do need to walk through one of the bedrooms to get from the front door to the living areas, it wasn’t an issue for us but might be for others. Martha was very open and transparent with her communication. Would definitely stay again.

This was our second stay at Martha’s Maine House, and this stay was even more enjoyable than the first. First of all, Martha the host was very responsive to our questions and called us while we were there to make sure everything was going well. The house was clean, very cozy, quiet, relaxing and had a fully equipped kitchen and more amenities that you would expect for a vacation home. The location of the cottage was close to the village center, where there is a store (that has practically everything), an ice cream shop, gas station and a couple of restaurants. The cottage was also very close to the beautiful town beach, the lighthouse & museum , an historic colonial settlement and a fort which are must see places that we visited during our stay in Pemaquid. We enjoyed our evening’s barbecues at home with the large grill, and relaxing around outdoor fires we made in the fire pit. In addition, the cottage was cool and comfortable during the day and at night for sleeping. Overall, we had a relaxing low stress time at Martha’s cottage and intend to return next year.

We had a wonderful stay. Beautiful comfortable home which slept our family of 7 easily. Short drive to the beach. We also enjoyed swimming in the river and walking downtown to get ice cream. Host was excellent and responsive!
