It is seldom available and often booked far in advance.
Some years ago, a much-loved radio personality from the
Midwest came to Waikiki and had a grand idea — combine 2 apartments
for this tropical retreat.
The additional size allows for a fully equipped kitchen with large refrigerator,
a spacious full bathroom,
comfortable sitting room and a bedroom with a king size bed.
Plus, a lanai overlooking the treetops and
grassy knolls of Kapiolani Park and the breaks of the
Pacific Ocean beyond white sand Waikiki Beach.
You get it all — Location,
and likely the most comfortable apartment at the
Waikiki Grand Hotel®.
May you enjoy this apartment as much as the radio personality who built it.
Fresh white cotton towels & linens
(including multi-color Beach towels)
are supplied for your stay and there is a
laundry room (CC-operated) should you need to refresh during your stay.
The building also houses Hula's Bar and Lei Stand on the 2nd floor and
Teddy's bigger burgers (lobby level)-
Both great for a lunchtime snack or afternoon drinks.
The Waikiki Grand Hotel® is located on Kapahulu Ave
across from The Honolulu Zoo.
The walking distance from Waikiki Beach is just under 2 minutes.
Beautiful Queen Kapiolani Park is across the street and stretches along the Oceanfront to the foot of The Diamond Head crater -
The park offers Tennis courts,
BBQ areas and outdoor family dining spots
(Bench seats and tables).
There is a fun & relaxed outdoor workout area close to the tennis courts.
Every Saturday and Sunday year-round, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.,
Art On the Zoo Fence where artists present their
artwork for viewing and sale in Waikīkī along the
Honolulu Zoo fence on Monsarrat Avenue,
across from the bandstand at Kapiolani Park.
The Hotel is on a couple of the main bus routes,
download 'TheBUS App' (Oahu) for times & routes -
Our buses are clean & reliable - many using renewable energy.
UBER & Lyft both operate on the island and are plentiful, along with the slightly more expensive taxis.
Lookout also for "Biki Bike" racks throughout Waikiki, a popular way to rent bikes for the hour, they may be picked up at one location and returned to another location anywhere in Waikīkī - gobiki.org
Again, a simple website & credit card is all that is needed to enjoy this popular service.
Bike lanes & bike paths are offered almost everywhere.
Also, there is a full concierge service available in the lobby to assist with island tours, bike rentals and evening dinner cruises
(Totally recommended for couples,
pick Friday if you can as you'll see the
Waikiki Fireworks display from the Ocean and its impressive!)
