This charming 5 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with large basement and adorable fully fenced back yard is perfect for families wanting to stay near downtown Boise.
The original hardwood floors were resurfaced in 2020 along with other remodel updates. The kitchen is complete with modern appliances and everything you need to cook meals and save on eating out. The back yard has a tree swing and a kid-sized playhouse that is available for your use. Don't forget to set the kids loose looking for the secret hideout, too!
The decor, furnishings and bedding were selected with your comfort and enjoyment in mind. The property is only 1 mile from all the downtown Boise action and just 10 minutes from the Boise airport. The house has a 50 AMP EV charger available for your use as well.
Myself, my 2 kids, and my brother stayed (the rest of our group couldn't make it last minute) There is plenty of space and the home is very kid/family friendly! Lot's of games, some kids books, a fun backyard placeplace, tree house, and tree swing (this was a big hit with the tiny humans), and the kids secret hide out inside the house was well loved!
This property was great for a big family weekend to celebrate a graduation. Itâs a funky house full of suprises. It has tons of room, a well stocked kitchen, good beds, comfy furniture, lots of towels and itâs in a quiet neighborhood but close to everything.
Positives: It is a 50's house that is quirky, which we looked forward to and liked. Kitchen and upstairs bathroom had updates which were nice. The house was roomy with 5 bedrooms. There is lots of parking, and the street it was on was fine. It is in a little bit rougher part of town.
Negatives: We found mouse poop in various places including bedrooms and beds - and then the fat little mouse made an appearance in the kitchen! My kids were scared to sleep! We alerted the management who said "sorry" but did nothing else. We bought traps and were unsuccessful in catching it. The beds and bedding were old and felt used and unclean. I would highly recommend new clean comforters and pillows at the very least. The main areas were clean, yet I picked up garbage in the corners, and a rotten banana in the back of a cupboard. The kitchen did not have adequate dishcloths and hand towels. The basement bathroom needs a window covering - anyone standing outside could look right in.
It felt like staying at Grandma's house :) but is in desperate need of rodent control and bedding.
I'm sad to say I would not recommend it nor would I stay there again.
We recently stayed at this listing and while we appreciated the opportunity to rent the property, our experience was marred by some cleanliness and pest control issues. Upon arrival, we noticed significant dust and dirty floors, and the presence of bugs throughout the property was discomforting. It's disheartening, especially considering a cleaning fee was charged to previous occupants. We shared these concerns with the landlord in the hope that future guests can enjoy a more pleasant stay and to perhaps bring this to their attention as we understand that the host perhaps hired a third party company who did not do their job. We believe addressing these maintenance issues will greatly improve the overall experience for future renters.
We have 3 kids (with 1 out of the house), all of which we raised in this house. So this house very much feels like our home. Now we live in Eagle but we love to travel near and far with the family. We often stay in short term rentals and love to think of this home as a place where fellow travelers can come and relax with their families. Without our beloved guests, we would probably have to sell the kids' childhood home. For that reason and others, we are very grateful for your stay!
