ABOUT VINALHAVEN, MAINE
Vinalhaven is an unabridged island off the coast of Maine brimming with beautiful views, magical hiking trails (literally everywhere!), fresh water quarries to swim, lobsters right off the boat and a peaceful quiet that settles any restless soul. The second you get on the ferry (itâs an hour and fifteen minute ferry ride to the island ), you will fall madly, deeply in love! A simple life you sink into and canât get enough ofâŠ
ABOUT THE ISLAND'S RENTAL SEASON
We have a short 3 month tourist season on the island. Camping on public land on the island is not allowed. Camping on private land is allowed.
ABOUT THE BIRDHOUSE TENT
An off the grid, star gazing glamping tent nestled at the edge of a quiet tidal wetlands. *Please note, you are not camping on the ocean's edge.
The island offers dozens of breathtaking hikes available along with oceanâs edge and at different inland locations. All hikes are easy to access! Life is simple and easy being here!

âEco Flow solar power generator for lights and anything you need!
â Solar powered LED string lights, path lights, and twinkle lights around campfire.
âJoolca on demand propane water heater for out door tent shower and kitchenette sink. Hot water fast and amazing pressure!
âFresh drinking water hose runs from my house to your tent.
âLoveable loo composting toilet.
âElon Muskâs Starlink satellite high speed internet.
âCampfire with bench, wood stools and chairs (FIREWOOD INCLUDED)
âHeavy duty barbecue swivel grill for outdoor BBQ over open fire
âColeman propane stove with small grill for cooking on kitchenette
â Linen sheets & brand new mattress and pillows enclosed in hypoallergenic covers.
âExtra blankets & electric blanket.
âGames and puzzles for chill-in evenings.
âI live in a pre-fab home tucked away at the top of the hill above your tent, hidden from view with sail shade and umbrella. If you need me, I am close by, and if you want privacy, you won't be bothered.

HIKING:
You can discover many of the trails owned and managed by the Vinalhaven Land Trust on their app. Search 'VHtrails' in app store.
BIKING:
The island is bike friendly. It is approximately 23 square miles. *I do recommend experienced bike riders only, as there are no biking lanes on the island. You are sharing a rural, windy road with cars.
