Historic Three Bedroom Home in Downtown Harpers Ferry

Centrally located in Historic Downtown Harpers Ferry convenient to all your vacation needs. Sightseeing, white-water activities, hiking, biking, Charlestown Races, and walking distance to the Amtrak station.

The home is ~1 mile from the C&O canal towpath, great for exploring cyclist in need of an overnight rest. Hikers too, we are about ½ mile from the Appalachian Trail. The shops and dining of downtown are within easy walking distance.

Built in the 1820's by the US Government, this home is the 2nd oldest privately owned home in Harpers Ferry. The US Government built the home as living quarters for Armorer's working at the US Armory at Harpers Ferry. The spaces are wonderfully appointed including many historic photos and prints of the local area. Additionally, there are several artifacts and displays from the local region, which will enrich the historic feeling of your stay with us.

A stay here is like taking a step back in time but with the comforts of a modern climate control system and a fully renovated kitchen. It features 3 bedrooms, 2 baths (featuring an antique claw foot tub) and beautiful landscaping with a tea garden. The front porch overlooks Washington St. (Main St.) and is directly across from the City Park. The park features the Harpers Ferry Town Bandstand, which hosts current events including the Easter Egg Hunt (run by the Harpers Ferry Parks and Recreation Association), the Herb Fair (run by the Harpers Ferry Woman's Club), the Fourth of July Band Concert and Picnic, and the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.

We had a perfect weekend staying in this historic home. It was very clean with all of the necessary amenities and supplies, and parking for 2 is situated next to the house. The home is comfortable and well maintained while showcasing the history of the area with interesting photos of people and events. The front porch and backyard gardens were quiet spaces to enjoy. There's even a super friendly front porch cat who will keep you company if you wish. Being situated at the top of the hill above town on the main street makes the historic areas, shopping, dining, and hiking all within walking distance. The Bolivar Bread bakery is a short walk in the opposite direction and has the most amazing sour dough breads and the happiest staff. John, the host, was very communicative and provided helpful information about the area. We would definitely return to this historic home the next time we visit Harpers Ferry.

Perfect Harper’s Ferry Getaway Location

Had a great time! House is in a perfect location to visit Harper’s Ferry and the surrounding area. Excellent communication with the hosts. House itself was clean and had everything you could need. Downtown Harper’s Ferry is a short walk down the hill. Check-in was easy and I want to give a special shout out to the hosts for having a smooth check-out process as well! Would stay here again for sure. Thank you!

Perfect location and beautiful house

We had a great time over the 4th of July weekend. We enjoyed relaxing on the front porch with Tony, the neighborhood tuxedo cat. We also had a good time playing croquet in the backyard. The house is very close to downtown and other historic sites around HP. I definitely recommend and may book the house again in the future.

Great Overnight Stay

We enjoyed a great overnight stay here in Harper’s Ferry. The house was very comfortably appointed and easily accommodated myself and my two sons. We had an easy walk to downtown for a good dinner at the Rabbit Hole, which the owner recommended. We’ll plan to stay here again when we come back.

A charming and comfortable house in a very convenient location. Very homey feel with historical touches. We enjoyed our overnight stay! Owner was responsive and check in/ checkout was very easy.

Very cool house and nice host!

Some friends and I stayed at the house for a wedding and had a great time! The check in and check was easy, and there was an outside cat across the street that hung out with us on the porch all night. Would recommend!
