Escape to our freshly remodeled lakeshore cottage on Lake Waconia, just 40 mins from MSP. This pet-friendly retreat offers panoramic water views, 70ft of direct lakeshore, and comfortably sleeps 8. Enjoy modern amenities, two fireplaces, a private dock, and a screened boathouse two steps from the water. Don't miss the hidden bedroom! Large deck with large views, Perfect for families seeking a classic lake getaway with all the comforts of home. Max 8 guests at any time, NO EVENTS. Parking for 2 vehicles.

The open-concept living space features a top-tier kitchen, perfect for preparing meals while keeping an eye on the kids fishing from the dock. Later, you can listen to the loons from the screened-in boathouse, located less than 8 feet from the water's edge.

The Cottage gives you that classic up north lake experience with modern conveniences only 40 minutes from MSP airport. You can enjoy the panoramic views and the gently sloping backyard all the way to the lake.

Kayaks and paddle board come with the Cottage, or rent the pontoon for a day($375) to explore historic Coney Island, stop into Lola's restaurant or catch a fresh fish dinner. Parking for 2 vehicles ONLY.

There are self sufficient free range chickens on site. They are dog savvy and mind their own business, but help out with breakfast on occasion.
Exterior Security: For your safety and security, there is one exterior security camera, monitoring the driveway and front entrance.

Farm Friends: Please be aware that we have self-sufficient, free-range chickens on site. They are dog-savvy and generally keep to themselves. Enjoy the fresh eggs they might provide!

Lake Life: As a lakefront property, you may encounter local wildlife and insects.

This place is absolutely beautiful and a wonderfully peaceful location! Every inch of the remodel was perfectly crafted and decorated! The hosts were very quick to respond with any questions we had. Exactly What We Needed!

Our group was in town for a nearby dance competition and this property was perfect! Spacious and clean with picturesque views of the lake. The dance moms plan to visit again when we can actually relax and enjoy all the amenities offered!

Great Week in Waconia!

We have stayed here several times now and continuing coming back. The house is well maintained and very relaxing. Plenty of room for four adults to stretch out! We have found great local eateries in the area and enjoy the wineries nearby. The hosts are great to work with and always responsive. Highly recommend it!

Completely remodeled lake home with upscale finishes throughout. We enjoyed a very comfortable and cozy stay. (We did need a hint from the host to find the “secret bedroom”, but glad we found it).

Family lake stay

Relaxing home right on the lake with close location to trails and downtown Minneapolis. Our dog loved sitting on the deck and watching the free-range chickens. Owners available to answer any questions. Would definitely book again!

Celebrating a Birthday

Our group of three sisters and their spouses were very impressed as we entered this lovely home. Its description and photos were exactly what we expected. We really enjoyed beautiful Waconia Lake. This lakefront home has well-groomed yards, along with comfortable patio furniture to enjoy the outdoors. Equally enjoyable was its spacious interior. Wonderful cottage with beautiful setting

We had a last minute change in our women's getaway and we were lucky enough to find this lake cottage available. The views were wonderful from the many windows. The beds were comfy, the cottage was clean. Great kitchen with everything you would need. We rented a pontoon and had a relaxing day on the lake. Hiking nearby along with wineries, breweries and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The owners were very responsive and helpful. Thanks, Dave and Tracy

Great stress relief getaway!

We had a wonderful time at this VRBO. The weekend started with the search for the hidden room which was a fantastic way to kick off our fun time. All the bedrooms were very comfortable; it was great to all have separate baths. The deck was our favorite place to hang out, have a frosty drink, listen to the waves and watch the chickens strut around. When it got too chilly outside, the livingroom fireplace was perfect for the rest of the night. Our hosts were very friendly, personable, helpful and willing to answer questions. The fresh eggs were also very much appreciated. We'd definitely recommend this property and plan to return!

Full moon over Lake Waconia

Ours was a short trip of only three nights and the moon was almost full all three nights. So beautiful watching it reflect off of the lake.We were all so thrilled to be there! I don’t know where to start
 The hosts, Tracy and Dave, were absolutely wonderful. They live right next-door and are so friendly and accommodating. We love their chickens and duck, and of course, their big dog, Hank. All were friendly.The property itself is beautifully remodeled and clean. It looks just like the pictures.The view of the lake every day was amazing and is definitely something wonderful to wake up to.Everything was included and even though we did bring some items, we really didn’t need anything. They thought of everything.We are talking about coming again and staying here next year for a little longer.I would highly recommend booking and staying here! Wood for the fire pit was provided.We did go to the local market for bottled water.The stores were a seven minute drive.Unfortunately, we did not try out any restaurants or anything local because we were only there for three days and none of us wanted to leave the property, to be honest!So quiet and peaceful and calming. We had beautiful weather and the full moon over the lake? Gorgeous!I don’t think I could’ve asked for more if I had drawn out a vacation place for my self and loved ones.Thank you again, Tracy and Dave for being such wonderful hosts and allowing to experience your beautiful home!

We are easy going hosts and travelers and hope you are the same.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We've lived in this neighborhood for 20 years, and enjoy the quiet, rural feel, even though we are 45 minutes from downtown Minneapolis. We own both this home and the neighboring home, so you'll have plenty of privacy, yet there is always help close by.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

The Cottage was completely remodeled in 2023, and incorporates many features of lake cabins from the 30's and 40's, while bringing luxurious amenities of today.

The backyard with direct lake frontage can't be beat. Private, gently sloping with screened boathouse gives you magnificent views from every direction. Being on the quiet side of the lake, there is very little boat traffic to interrupt the serenity.

Wildlife abound-expect to see pelicans, eagles, ospreys, kingfishers, and hear an occasional owl. Muskrat, minks, possums, groundhogs and foxes are always around. The free range chickens usually escape unscathed, but everyone likes the taste of chicken.
