Your family will be close to everything when you stay at Once Upon a Tide!
Make yourself at home here in Wilmington, NC! Lovely neighborhood, and very spacious with plenty of beds and room to spread out. Big backyard with tons of space for the kids to play while you relax on the back porch. This home is located behind Mayfaire area, right in the center of all Wilmington has to offer! An easy walk or bike to many shopping and dining places. Located 3.5 miles to Wrightsville Beach. Home is also close to downtown and the river walk.
The house was well kept and clean, great location to downtown and the beach. Plenty of room for the 7 of us staying there. Beautiful back porch with comfortable seating.
Perfect location and a great house. Quiet neighborhood, and still walkable to shopping/restaurants. Just some considerations. If you do have a full house, with several cars, parking can be tight, and coffee pot is small. Otherwise, we enjoyed the back yard & listening to owls. If ever we are back in the area, we wouldn't hesitate to book again.
Great home in an incredible location.Beds were super comfy and back porch has to be seen to understand how awesome it is for family time.Wonderful, super responsive host. Had a great weekend and made some fabulous family memories! Thanks for hosting us!
The place was not as described. For example, one bedroom shows 2 twin beds, but there are no twin beds. Also, the place lacked a lot of things we needed, like towels and cooking tools. The hosts were very nice, though, and were very responsive. At one point the electricity went out, and they immediately came over and fixed it.
We enjoyed our stay. It was 10 minutes or so from everything we wanted to do. We also enjoyed just being able to hang out and do nothing. Communication with host was great. We would stay there again.
The space was great - the living room furniture was extremely comfortable and the hosts were very responsive. The place was clean and located close to many things. The only issues we had were not being able to access the bedroom closets to hang our special occasion clothing. All the closets in the upstairs bedrooms were locked. We were told we could use the ONE closet in the downstairs bedroom - but that was neither convenient or practical. Also, there were no hand towels for use in the bathrooms after washing your hands. Lastly, they may want to update the configuration of what's in the bedrooms. One of the reasons I chose this place was because I needed the twin beds for my brother and I - and when we got there, there were no twin beds as shown on the website. We certainly were not going to share a double or queen bed - so that required one of us to sleep on the couch. All in all, a great experience and I will definitely want to go this route in the future rather than using hotels!
My group(s) and I drive down to Wilmington from Northern Va 2-3 times per year to go fishing. We have stayed at many different places. Group size, amenities and cost usually determines where we stay most times. Once Upon a Tide is close to both marinas where my captain docks his boats. Close to the beach, Fishing Pier, restaurants and marinas.
The property is spacious enough both inside and out. It has a firepit with chairs and a Cornhole game waiting for the next challengers. The rooms in the house are nicely decorated without any bananas. Fishermen would understand the reference.
If you care to cook, all the essentials are there. There are 2 tables on the shaded back porch if you want to eat outside. I will place "Once upon a Tide" really close to the top of my list for return to stay. Sure every place has something to work on but this will be the first place I am going to check for my next trip to Wilmington. Can't wait for the Tide to roll in for my next trip.
