We cooked many times and the kitchen layout was not conducive for a large group.The house is in a great location...close to restaurants.

This house is much more dated than it appears in the photos. There is black mold on the unfinished window frames throughout. The wifi is DSL and the tvs are very old. We lost wifi while there and couldnt get a hold of the support number provided to get help. The hot water heater was barely working and then sprung a major leak while there, it was 17 years old and shouldve been replaced a long time ago. On the positive, the layout is nice, the pool looked nice (was closed for our trip) and the location is great. The house has decently clean as well. The management company was AMAZING in supporting us during our stay.

Reviewer Comments: We loved the house and all the amenities the house offered and how close the beach was along with other stores and attractions but I would highly recommend that they upgrade the beds and get different mattress the mattress were absolutely horrible and felt like sleeping on hay besides that I would only suggest maybe a gas grill

Upon arrival there was damage and dirty rags but the cleaning company sent a representative to check it out and they cleaned it and made note of damage (done prior to our arrival). An extra cupboard or shelf would be nice for storage of food items. The pool area was perfect and the kids loved the “shelf” to play. The bedrooms also fit our needs. Will keep this in our go-to for future OBX trips.

Had all of the amenities that we needed and the weather was perfect for sitting in the hot tub. The only issue we had was noise from trucks very early in the morning, around 3am. We weren't sure if it was garbage trucks emptying dumpsters or the building supply store across the highway. Overall great stay and we will definitely keep this on the list for future trips.

However, the condition of the beds were awful and uncomfortable and the appliances need updating. I've never been at a rental in OBX with no internet or decent cable until this one. Floors were not clean. Cockroaches in bedroom and around the house outside. Would not recommend.

The only downside to the place was that it was outdated and could use a thorough deep clean. But I would absolutely stay here again without a second thought!

The house could definitely use some updating in terms of appliances and furniture. The cleaning was not amazing, but the house smelled like undiluted strong cleaner as soon as we walked in, giving the illusion of a super clean house. The deck needs to be attended to in a few spots (nails need to be nailed back down and some replaced). It seems like items that should be regularly maintained are forgotten about.

This has become our go-to rental

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second year in this rental. After the first year, we loved the house so much, we booked it again this year. A short walk to the beach, cool off in the pool, relax in the hot tub, it’s all good! We use the grill A LOT, so it’s good that it’s right next to the pool so you can easily monitor the kids. Need more beer? A convenience store is directly behind you. Want good seafood? Jimmy’s is a 2-3 minute walk. We love this rental!

Making Memories

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a blast. This was our third summer in OBX but first time in this house. Overall the house had just what we needed. We had internet issues but the company was fast to address them. Only issue we had was with the cleaning company. I have four children two are under two so I was a little upset to come into a rental where the glass doors n table tops were covered in film. As well as the floors still had sand n food on them. Could have been an off day but I found that a huge downfall. But the house itself n the agents were all pleasant to deal with. Can’t wait for summer 2021

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was disappointed with the weather because we save up all year to go on one vacation, and had no usable days of beach. The house was fine, but there was nothing to do. There was no vacume cleaner and the blender did not work. There were beaters but no handheld beaters. The left front burner on the stove wasn't working. Other than that, the home was beautiful and well maintained, and we did enjoy our stay.

New Years Getaway

Wonderful week

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of 7 had a great week while staying at Carolina Kai. The house was immaculate and very close to beach access. We loved the pool as well. It had everything we needed (except for a toaster, which we bought).The house could use some newer appliances and more TV channels, however, but overall we were very happy staying in your beautiful beach house.
