Set on 50+ acres of open countryside, our cozy ranch home offers stunning views, peaceful surroundings, and the perfect space for families to slow down and reconnect. It’s a working ranch, so we’ll have someone swing by daily to check on the cows near the barn or tend to typical ranch activities in the pastures, but don’t worry, you’ll have the entire home all to yourselves.
ABOUT THE HOME AND PROPERTY:
Welcome to Tamarack Ranch—where life slows down and the country air runs deep.
Trade the noise of the city for big skies and peaceful mountain views.
Nestled on the west side of the Bitterroot Valley, this cozy home sits on a working ranch surrounded by over 50 acres of open grazing pastures, charming rustic outbuildings, and sweeping mountain views. Each evening, unwind on the deck as the sun dips behind the ridge—a view that never gets old. Keep an eye out for local birds and wildlife that are drawn to the seasonal creeks and pond. You’ll see cows out in the pasture, so kindly give them space and respect. The cattle owner will stop by briefly each day for routine ranch duties, but your privacy at the home will remain undisturbed. Just minutes from scenic hikes like Mill Creek and Blodgett Creek Trails, you’ll enjoy the perfect mix of seclusion and convenience. It’s a true taste of Montana life—one that calls you back, time and again.
The historic “Hallmark-like” town of Hamilton is just a short 15 minutes down the road. It’s filled with quaint shops, unique eateries, grocery and sporting goods stores to tend to your adventures.
Our home comfortably accommodates up to 6 adults, with a maximum guest capacity of 8. Additional charges apply for overnight guests beyond 6, and these will be reflected in your reservation quote. Be sure to enter the correct number of guests when booking to ensure an accurate total.
Please note: Only registered guests listed on the reservation are allowed on the property. Any additional visitors—whether staying overnight or just stopping by—must receive prior approval.
The home features four comfortable bedrooms. On the main floor, the primary bedroom offers a king bed, recliner, walk in closet and dresser. The second bedroom includes two twin beds (one is a rollout trundle) and a desk, making for a functional workspace or extra clothing storage.
Downstairs, on the daylight walkout basement level, you’ll find two additional bedrooms—each with a queen bed, dresser, and walk-in closet.
Every bedroom is equipped with a ceiling fan, a sound machine and room darkening curtains for restful sleep, as well as a portable window fan (stored in each closet).
Please note: While the home doesn’t have central AC, three portable air conditioning units are available and will be set up on the main level during the summer months to enhance your comfort.
The lovely kitchen has a cozy farmhouse feel, complete with granite countertops and plenty of space for cooking or casual dining at the counter. The connected dining area offers a stunning mountain view and seating for up to eight guests.
The spacious main-floor living room is perfect for movie nights or relaxing conversations, while the downstairs den offers a quiet spot to read or watch TV. Right next to the den, you’ll find a charming butler’s pantry featuring a coffee bar and beverage cooler—ideal for your morning brew or evening refreshment.
Outdoors, you'll find a firepit perfect for those spring and summer evenings - ideal for roasting s'mores and stargazing. Enjoy lunch at the picnic table or a relaxing dinner on the covered deck's dining table. For a quiet start to your day, sip your morning coffee on the peaceful patio just outside the walkout basement.
Our property is a great place for families, with plenty of space for kids to enjoy the outdoors. There are seasonal creeks and a small pond located beyond the fenced pasture area. These natural features do pose a drowning risk if children happen to reach them while unsupervised. Please note that our home is not baby/toddler proof. Some furnishings and decor may pose safety hazards, and outlets are not equipped with child proof covers. For everyone's safety, we kindly ask that children are supervised by an adult at all times, both inside and outside the home.
For guests traveling with children, we provide a clip-on high chair, kid friendly plates, cups and utensils. You'll also find a baby gate for the indoor stairwell, a Pack n Play and a baby monitor available for your use. As previously mentioned, all bedrooms are equipped with sound machines and blackout curtains to ensure a restful night's sleep.
Exterior cameras are located around the perimeter of the home, at entry points, and in the areas surrounding outbuildings and fire pit. These are in place for the safety and security of our guests and property.
— TRAVELING WITH AN RV OR CAMPER??? —
We may be able to assist with that! We have both 30-amp and 50-amp hookups near the barn area. If you are interested, just let us know in your booking request, and we’ll do our best to accommodate for your group.
Please note: additional fees apply for RV or camper hookups, and we do not have a dump station on-site.
GUEST ACCESS:
You’ll have private access to the main residence. There is a small room and a couple of storage closets located in the basement hallway that are not part of the listing and will remain locked.
While no one resides on-site, our ranch manager does stop by once or twice a day for a quick check on the livestock and potential other ranch-related duties. Their visits are brief and require no interaction—though you’re welcome to say hello!
Guests are welcome to explore the grounds within the fenced area around the home. However, access to any of the outbuildings, pastures, and corrals is not permitted, as these areas are reserved for ranch operations and contain livestock.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
Please note our home, like many in the Bitterroot Valley, is not equipped with Central A/C. We do have portable AC units available for the main floor level during the peak summer months. The lower level stays a cool temperature even during the hottest part of the year.
