The home was in a great location. We stayed for a week. We fished, went to the beach, ate at the local restaurants and did some shopping. We even sat on the porch and read a few books.
The house was very clean and comfortable. Although I choose not to cook on vacation, it appeared the kitchen was well equipped. Very convenient location to many great restaurants. Neighborhood quiet and peaceful! We will be back!
The house is centrally located in Apalachicola, within walking distance of downtown and a grocery store. There was some loud music late at night a couple of times, but the neighborhood was quiet for the most part and people were friendly. I would definitely stay here again.
This was a cute cottage type house. We had more room than needed since some guests did not make it, so it seemed spacious. The area was beautiful and everyone was friendly. Met our needs perfectly. Will definitely consider this as our stay next time we are in town.
One big plus for this house is the sleeping arrangements. 1 Master BR downstairs with en suite bathroom, and 4 bedrooms upstairs with a shared bathroom. 1 upstairs bedroom has a full bed, while the other 3 have 2 twins each. So it would be good for up to 2 families with up to 6 kids. The house is otherwise a typical rental - old, with patchy remodeling where no 2 rooms look alike and there are amusing features like an old doorknob used as a door stop on the baseboard. Decent kitchen with lots of plates, glasses, etc, even plasticware, and a decently stocked spice rack. Nice fridge but no ice maker. Cheap toaster and coffee maker but they both work. Location is nice and close to the shop/restaurant area, and a quick shot to the road to St George Island. My only complaint is the neighbor having an all night rager complete with cars peeling out and loud music (you know, the kind that rattles a license plate with the bass), and loud talking till 4 in the morning. Host was friendly and very responsive to questions and requests by text!
A group of friends took a boat trip to Apalachicola and needed a home with several bedrooms for the weekend. This home was great, plenty of space and a great location with a short walk to downtown, grocery store, and marina. Joy was a pleasure to work with and even refunded a portion of the stay when I let them know we had fewer guests than planned. I would highly recommend Joy's property. Thanks.
Property sleeps 10, we were 8, & found the indoor living areas small! The porch is unscreened, & upstairs the front screened balcony is OK for good weather, but has limited furnishings & the stairs are steep. You can crowd 6 around the only indoor table, others had to carry food to the small living room or eat outside.
The twin beds were only just adequate: we folded our comforters to use UNDER the fitted sheets to add a bit of padding.
