Also, Yale is just up the street! The East Rock neighborhood of New Haven, named for nearby East Rock, a prominent trap rock ridge and hiking trail, is one of the city's premier neighborhoods. The area is home to a large group of Yale employees and faculty, as well as many young professionals and families. East Rock is also a popular destination for cyclists, as an urban bike path runs along Orange Street, the backbone of the neighborhood. The abundance of coffee shops, restaurants and the like make it a must-see during your stay in New Haven. Orange street is considered a main artery of New Haven. Access to bus routes and the train is walkable. Parking at the unit is off street for one car. Let us know if you have more than one coming and we will provide additional parking passes.
Place was great for our long weekend stay in New Haven. Apartments four bedrooms were roomy and comfortable. Kitchen had everything to meet our needs. Two bathrooms a blessing for our group of five. Convenient to get around town and surrounding area. Owner responded quickly to any questions. Street noise was a little loud at times, but would stay there again.
East Rock is the perfect blend of charm, convince and natural beauty. From the tree lined streets to the best coffee shops in town this area is perfect area to experience New Haven's finest.
On any given day you'll see hikers, runners, yoga practitioners and cyclists en route to East Rock Park and the Soldiers and Sailors Monument which has some of the best views in the state
East Rock, a neighborhood in north-central New Haven. Largely residential and home to many Yale graduate students and young professionals, East Rock has numerous bars and eateries with less congestion and chaos than downtown with arguably the best pizza in the country, an experience that must be had.
