Artisan Gem - 2 BR / 1 Bath


You'll feel at home at the Blue Walnut House, a freshly updated cottage in "The Gem of the Mountains".

There is a spacious living room with plenty of seating and a gas fireplace. We know coffee is essential and have a dual coffee maker, and regular coffee. and a gas range/oven in our fully stocked kitchen for those chef types. We have smart TV's in the living room and one bedroom. There is of course free wifi and a dedicated workspace/desk.

There is an on-site washer and dryer for your convenience.

Bathroom safety and cleanliness is a top priority. There are accessibility-friendly grab bars next to the toilet and shower and an anti-slip bathtub basin.

Parking is free and available in the driveway and on the street.

The carport has a 240 volt EV charger outlet available for guests with electric vehicles. *We do not provide a charging cable. Photo of the outlet included in this listing.

A smartlock keypad is located on the front door for simple keyless entry and self-check-in. The code will be provided to you prior to your check-in time. The code is different for each guest.

Excellent communication from the host that covered all of the relevant details and more. The home was cozy and comfortable. It was handy to have all the drawers and cabinets labeled making it easy to find things. Very nice central location to a variety of hiking destinations, which is what we were there for. We’d happily stay here again in the future.

Great Little House

We only stayed for two nights for a mini birthday trip but it was a great time! Loved the older build of the house but it also had all the up to date things to make it cozy and comfortable. Definitely a great place to stay if just you or a small family.

Comfortable, clean and very cute home.

I enjoyed my stay at this VRBO, it really is a cute little gem off the beaten path. Very private with safe neighbors. I stayed there while attending Penland class. It's a close drive and I enjoyed being able to unwind from a daily classroom instruction at Penland.

“I had a wonderful stay! The home is beautifully decorated with so much charm and character. I especially loved the collection of old books—it gave the space a cozy, personal feel. It’s clear the place was thoughtfully set up with guests in mind. I didn’t want for anything during my stay—everything I could have needed was there. The hosts were also very attentive; when I reached out to ask for the entry code again, they responded quickly and helpfully. Thank you for creating such a warm and welcoming space. This house is in a great location to town and easy to get to. It has everthing you need and is very cozy. We went to NC to help with disaster relief and worked long days. It was great going "home" to such a relaxing place that was clean and well stocked. I did have a question about wi-fi and contacted the host and they were very quick to respond.

House in Mountains

This house was perfect! House was clean, nicely stocked and very comfortable. Communications with Orvokki and JC were very quick and super helpful. Had a great time visiting local restaurants and coffee shops. Look forward to visiting again soon!
